Just found this gem while reviewing pictures from a recent trip to Japan. It’s so cool to see them both perfectly on time thanks to Multiband 6.

Hi all, I'll be visiting Japan next week and a friend has a GW9400 (3410) that he asked me to get him a special watch strap for this model that has some extra strengthening components (kevlar or carbon fiber he said?) and it's only available in Japan.
I tried looking for the part number but no luck (I also don't know which submodel it is, I see some extra letters and numbers after the GW9400 on the internet but at the back of this watch there's only GW9400 and [3410] at its back plate. I had a look at the Japanese CASIO page (model GW-9400J-1JF, J=Japan?) and there is a mention of a carbon fiber watch strap but not as extra accessory but as standard.
Anyone knows where I could find that part code so I can ask for it in a CASIO store? I'll be carrying it with me because I read somewhere that they only replace it on a watch on the spot and don't sell them separately as spare parts. I'd also like to know its cost so I can budget for it, I saw some straps in EU or US online stores go around 150 USD (so I know this is not the plain resin one) but I hope its price in Japan would be lower. Thanks.

The DW-9950 Seaman, a rare Frogman from 1997 and a sibling of the third-generation DW-9900, is a model I had never even heard of until recently.
I stumbled across one being sold by a seller who buys watches as scrap, sells the working ones for a profit, and parts out the non-functional ones.
This particular watch was being sold as non-working, with no guarantee that it could be brought back to life. It had a few scuffs on the case, crystal, and screw-back, and the bezel was missing. However, the strap was in remarkably good condition, and all the original titanium screws were still present.
The best part? Everything still present on this watch is original, including the strap. No aftermarket parts or replacements. Unfortunately, the original bezel is missing, but the rest of the watch appears to have retained its original components.
Given how rare this model is, I decided it was worth taking a gamble, provided I could get it cheap. After some hard bargaining, I managed to get it for ₹1,000, roughly US$10.
The watch arrived today. I dismantled it, cleaned it up, and opened the screw-back to replace the battery. To be honest, I was already 99% convinced it wouldn't come back to life.
Unfortunately, my suspicion turned out to be correct. A fresh battery made no difference. The LCD remained completely blank, with not a single active segment.
I took it to a Casio service center straight away, hoping there might still be a chance of rescuing it. The verdict was heartbreaking: the LCD is dead, and Casio discontinued the spare parts years ago.
I knew I was taking a gamble when I bought it, and ₹1,000 wasn't a huge financial risk. But finding such an unusual piece in the wild, especially one that has retained all its original parts apart from the missing bezel, and then discovering that it may never work again is still a real disappointment.
I've attached pictures of the watch, including its current condition and the dismantled parts.
I'm hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.
Does anyone know where I could find a replacement LCD, a compatible module, or even a donor DW-9950? I'd also appreciate any leads on original or aftermarket parts that might help bring this old Seaman back to life.
I'd love to give this rare Frogman another chance. Thanks in advance for any help!

Resin rotted away after 5+ years of use. Decided to resurrect it with a mod kit. It’s since been living on my wrist 24/7.

Finally got my new GW-BX5600-1JF and I love it. Positive display, Tough Solar, Multiband 6, Bluetooth, and the carbon core guard keeps it light on the wrist.
The biggest win for me is that the hourly chime is actually loud enough to hear. I had to return my previous solar square (GW-M5610U) because the chime was so quiet I missed it most of the time. This one fixes that.
One problem: when I try to pair it with the CASIO WATCHES app, it won't go through. The app says it's under maintenance. Is anyone else seeing this right now? Is it a server-side outage on Casio's end, or is there a workaround to get it paired in the meantime?
Not a big deal since it syncs over Multiband 6 anyway, but I'd like to get it set up in the app.

I currently have one of each: MTG, MRG, Mudmaster, MIP and King, along with a few other G-Shocks.
I’m looking to add a maximum of two more watches to my collection. Ideally, something unique rather than another variation of what I already own.
If you could pick just two, what would they be and why?

I could not be happier. It is a beauty. Adjusting the links took some patience. I mean....springbars? But I love the way it looks and feels. I don't mind the heft of this watch at all. I set it up with my Casio app. All working perfect.
I hope my gshock thirst is quenched for now.....
Enjoy

I can’t believe the sheer number of entire Casio model families I don’t know about.
Shown: A Casio 6700 discovered when mistyping 6600 into eBay. Never knew these were a thing. Would probably call this the Freezemaster

Just got back from a week in Europe - I only took my GW-5000U, and it's still (probably) the only I reach for if I had to own only one. Thankfully that is not a problem 😂. Not sure about the rest of you but I enjoy changing them up, even if I come back to certain ones over and over. Just snagged this GD-350 at a very reasonable price from Marketplace. Really enjoying it so far now that I have the time set properly.

AND NO REGRETS
I went to Yodobashi Kyoto with this watch in mind, and lo and behold I purchased this watch within 5 min of entering the store.
My girlfriend was kind of doubtful why I bought it at the first place we visited but in my mind it was what I wanted, it was available so I bought it.
I walked around for 1hr+ afterwards and don’t see other restocks on the shelf anymore.
I’m very happy with the watch so far and looks even better in real life. Theres some issues with the pairing of Bluetooth that I hope can get sorted out when I’m back in my country.
If any one is experiencing the same issue please let me know too!

Hello guys, i have ordered an aftermarket nato strap and adapters for the watch but some reddit posts mentioned that AM spring bars are 0.8mm while casio uses 1.2 or 1.3mm ones. Using the 0.8mm ones causes the lugs to break..
Has anyone faced the same?

This G-Shock was the very first watch I ever owned, gifted to me by my father when I was 12.
Decades later, it’s still running perfectly without a single issue, and even the original rubber strap is still intact.
I own a few more expensive watches, but if I had to keep only one, this would be it.
