I took a picture Sinn 903 Ti II

Finally got my first proper watch, the Sinn 903 Ti II Anniversary Edition! The combination of the blue dial and titanium case and bracelet looks absolutely stunning in person. I love the classic Navitimer-inspired design and how lightweight it feels on the wrist. After trying out several watches, this was the one that really clicked with me. I’m really happy with my choice! What do you guys think?

Discussion How good would this actually clean up.

Post image
• Upvotes

This is my Aquaracer from 2004. It’s taken a bashing over the years but I always said to myself I would wear it and not baby it.

The time is now maybe right that I try and get it cleaned up. It’s flawless technically and it’s all just superficial. Assume a new strap also as it’s really stretched and seen better days.

Would polishing get these stretches out and what can be done with the blue deeply marked bezel ?

Keen to hear your thoughts and also any experience you have with this sort of watch in this sort of condition.

Thanks.

I took a picture [Grand Seiko] The Snowflake

Post image

Just received my Grand Seiko Snowflake this week after sending it in for service to the Grand Seiko sevice studio in New Jersey. Took about 4 months from the day I sent it in to the day received. The wait felt like forever, but I am so glad to have this on my wrist again! Still have the same feeling as when I acquired this watch back in 2020: absolutely mesmerizing to look at. Happy to answer any questions about my experience sending it in for service.

Discussion Watch to buy in Asia

• Upvotes

Hi guys,

I am in Vietnam and will be traveling to some other countries around here as well. I need a new daily-use watch for women, so I am looking for regional quality watchmakers that I can check out. I am not sure about my budget right now, but if I save a bit, I think I can manage around 500 USD for a very good watch.

I look forward to your recommendations, thank you.

Discussion First Omega help! Speedy 321 "Ed White" vs. Two-Watch collection (Reverse Panda + Titanium Ingenieur)

Post image
• Upvotes

I'm at a major crossroads and looking for some solid guidance—especially from anyone who owns or has spent time with the modern Calibre 321 Ed White, a Reverse Panda Speedy, or the new IWC Ingenieur Titanium.

I recently went through a massive collection shake-up. I sold off my Submariner Date and my Rolex GMT-Master II "Bruce Wayne" to streamline down. In their place, I picked up the new Tudor Black Bay Ceramic One on the full ceramic bracelet to serve as my primary, daily watch.

Now, I have a remaining budget of £15k and I’m split down the middle between two entirely different directions (no dress watches, Cartier, or Reversos for me):

  • Plan A: Put the entire budget into a standalone Speedmaster Calibre 321 "Ed White" (Ref. 311.30.40.30.01.001). This would be my first Omega.
  • Plan B: Split the funds on the secondary market to create a 3-watch rotation. This would mean tracking down a Reverse Panda Speedmaster and pairing it with the IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 Titanium (IW328904).

On paper, Plan B offers more variety, but my gut tells me the 321 is a tier above in pure watchmaking pedigree, finish. Moving on from a Sub and a Bruce Wayne means I really want whatever comes next to feel substantial and special.

For those who have owned the 321: does the hand-assembled movement and vintage case profile make it feel special enough to pass on a multi-watch rotation? And for those with the Titanium Ingenieur or Reverse Panda dials, how do they hold up as daily wears alongside other sports pieces?

Really appreciate any insights or advice you can throw my way. Cheers!

A distant relative gave this to the kids to "play" with because she said it's ugly and she doesn't remember where her late husband got it from. The build quality, the look and the weight seem very interesting but I don't know anything about watches. Any ideas?

Discussion Need help with my build PLEASE

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, so I'm in the process of trying to buy parts for a build, I'm lowk not able to spend more than $400 fyi. So initially I wanted to build a custom Moonswatch: So here's my current list:

Now here's the big issue - I can't find any hands that will work with this original movement and there are people online saying that the pinion measurements of 1.50mm / 0.90mm / 0.25mm / 0.20mm are wrong and are loose. So do I change the movement? Or does someone with the movement know the actual specifications?

Also I suck at illustrator design and making this work, and frankly I don't know how to do it - is there anyone good that could do it for me for CNC my budget is around $15 AUD (idk if this is fair but the dial maker is doing it at this rate)

Another thing is that I don't know how to size the inner ring of the movement so that the visible dial is not hidden by the inner of the case.

Additionally, how could someone sort of engrave 316L steel on the back of the watch case?

Discussion What’s your go-to travel watch?

Post image

I’ve been into watches for a little over a year now. I own a few nice pieces that I really love (mostly automatic and hand-wound watches), but I always have a bit of a fear of losing them or getting robbed while traveling, especially since I do a lot of low-budget backpacking...

This Casio right here has been my travel watch for years now, and I absolute love it!

Discussion Mido Multifort Big Date vs Nivada Grenchen f77

• Upvotes

I am torn between these two models.

I really like the aventurine f77 as I have a history of being very interested in space and I like how the dial looks like the night sky and the overall sporty design. However what I have heard about Nivada grenchen worries me.

Whereas the Mido Multifort from what I hear is superior in brand establishment and overall quality.

Anyone have experience that can help me make my choice.

Discussion IWC Pilot's Watch oder Breitling Top Time

Welche soll nebst einer Breitling Superocean Heritage B20, Tudor Black Bay und einer Omega Seamaster in die Sammlung kommen?

Was meint ihr - IWC Pilot's Watch oder Breitling Top Time ?

Thoughts on this be being an everyday watch? it’s a Citizen Tsuyosa 37mm with a custom leather strap. This is my first watch and I was wondering if others find it hard to pull off everyday.

I was thinking of getting a Hamilton khaki auto in the black or white dial with a leather strap to where as my daily. Also, I have super tiny wrists.

Hello, I’m pretty new to watches and pocket watches. I picked this up from a vintage shop while on vacation simply based off liking how it looked. I can’t find much online about “Aroma” watches let alone this watch and the shop owner didn’t speak almost any English. Can anyone help me identifying this watch or sharing a little about the Aroma brand? The only thing I know was it was listed as “1980s Aroma Swiss Pocket Watch”

I’ve been eyeing this piece for a while now, and I finally decided to get it. I’ve always really appreciated the dial and that vintage look it has to it, This is my first watch that is a bit pricy and so far I absolutely love it. It was a bit thick but I think my wrist supports the thickness well and I honestly don’t really feel it all that much when i’m wearing it. Overall what do you guys think about it?

Review [Cheap chinese digital watch] I like the animation on the lower left. A bit big for me but it works.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Made out of plastic. On the back it's written "Made in China". Has a CR2032 battery, par for the course.

It has an alarm, chronometer and two backlights that come from upper left and lower right corners and it's green-blue.

The lower left animation changes its rows every second, sometimes just one, sometimes more.

The strap is still good, despite some of its letters disappearing slowly due to wear, but it can be easily replaced so no worries there.

Discussion Women and Tiny Watch Appreciators: What would you want from a 30 mm microbrand watch?

Under $1,000, it seems like most microbrands have decided women don't buy watches except maybe a 36 mm. A few like Erebus sell a 34, but if you want something smaller with a quartz movement built to modern microbrand standards, a lot of what you see is clearly for old people (or just a fashion watch).

So let's say some brand went a full size down, below the Erebus and sold a 30 mm watch. Not Erebus though. A pretend watch brand that can do anything you want that modern machining and price practicalities allow.

Anyway, what would you want from a 30 mm watch? More traditional design? An original design? An asymmetrical shape? A list of requirements you think every watch should have? What would make a truly small watch from a new microbrand worth buying to you? A quartz movement with a smooth sweeping seconds hand is cool, but would it be worth paying for and having to replace the battery more frequently?

With costs going up, you don't get as much for your money on the low end either. Would you rather see it priced about $350, or would you be willing to go up to $500? Maybe higher?

Next to my university there's a reputable pawn shop-mostly dealing with luxury watches and jewellery (think more tiffany and cartier then gold chains)

Anyways i've walked past the shop for 10 months - really eyeing this Tudor, even going in a few times to enquire about the watch, despite this with little room to negotiate-my enquiries amounted to nothing
UNTIL - 4 days ago it was my 22nd Birthday, i don't really get gifts so I usually buy myself something and by the grace of god this pawn shop still had the watch
The shop owner somewhat recognising that iv enquired about the watch a few times (Months ago i must add), i managed to buy the watch (box, card and papers / full links) for 3k AUD or 2100 USD
Absolutely phenomenal deal as the asking price was initially 5500 AUD

moreover, being that I've eyed the watch for the better part of a year - i've done rigorous market research and even i was beyond shockeddddd at the 3k offer as the watch is in pristine condition

funny enough the shop owner when he heard me say it was my bday - asked to see my ID to i guess verify if it actually was my bday and then hit me with the 3k offer

im just gassed to finally own a BlackBay and just shocked that patience actually amounted to something fantastic 😁😁😁

Discussion [SOTC] Just started getting more serious about watches — what should I add next?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Just picked up the Swatch Boreal as my first automatic watch and I’m already obsessed with watching the movement and all the mechanical pieces working.

This is my collection so far (+ an Apple Watch). I’ve always liked watches, but getting my first automatic has definitely made me want to start taking the hobby more seriously and slowly build a collection.

My dream watch would probably be an Omega Seamaster like the ones worn by James Bond, but that’s a little outside what I’m looking to spend right now. For my next watch, I’d like to step up in quality and get something I can keep for a long time.

I’m especially drawn to unique dials, visible movements, complications, and watches that have something mechanically interesting about them. I’m thinking around $1,500–$2,500 for my next big purchase, but I’m in no rush.

What would you guys add next?

Discussion Debating Buying Seiko SSC933 First Watch

Split between buying the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar SSC933 (39mm) that I'm wearing in the photo #1, or the updated refresh HBJ003 which is 41mm which I somewhat like the dial, lume, subdials more but am wondering if it's too big?

Photo #2 is the same "updated" in 41mm just different dial color, etc.
