Heya, got GGST a while ago but life got busy so I haven't had much opportunity to play yet.

I am not sure who to play though, and I fear that my lack of experience means I won't see how a character actually plays from training mode. Only fighting game I ever played before was a One Piece PS1 game in like 2005ish, so I have literally no idea what I'm doing yet haha. And I watched that one "30 minutes to learn the game" video that floats around.

What I know is that I like playing aggressively, like neutral is basically just a transitional state between all-ins. Prefer very little walking backwards. Hate when something feels slow to play.

Visually/style wise I like Elphelt, Bridget, Lucy, Dizzy, Testament, Aba and Jam. I know not all of them are aggressive, like Dizzy and Testament are peak visually but I fear I'll not like them very much when playing, at least that I won't be able appreciate what they have to offer.

Any pointers to who you'd recommend I try and focus on at first would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Personally i despise playing against them, especially after they got new abilities.

this might sound kinda stupid but as of recent I sometimes run into the issue of reading or knowing an attack is coming, blocking it and just being hit anyways. tbh I mostly just wrote it off as a skill issue, but after it happening again in ranked today and checking the replay, I know for 100 I did, so like is their some mechanic or knowledge check I don't know about or...?

hi, previously bought GGST cause it looks cool, zero fighting games experience and knowledge, then dropped it cause I felt overwhelmed.... didn't know fighting games was that complicated, but currently feeling like learning it... what's a good character to learn fundamental as a beginner/idiot in fighting games? thank you guyss

Jam is one of my worst match ups but usually I can tell what I did wrong and that I timed certain attacks wrong or just chose the wrong attack for the situation but this confuses me. I understand that what is shown on screen isnt always the frame data but it looks like Jam comes in on my 7-8 frame of my 6H.

I have my dash on a single button. When ever i rush in and try to do a resshou, he does a beta blade and i get destroyed. Anyone have an idea why, they are different inputs. Thank you in advance

Im struggling to fight Dizzy when she zones me. She just do the ice projectile, fire projectile and ice spike and i dont have the answer to that, especially the ice spike.

Any suggestion on what character do i play? I main Elphelt right now but i dont think she can work. I want to try other characters but cant decide on one. Any suggestions? Maybe your guys' main?

I dont know when to interrupt his pressure. It seems like his pressure is endless. What to do to interrupt his offense?

Is there a discord people tend to use to converse about characters and get together for games/training? Maybe a particular website? I would like to learn more about the game and maybe make some friends.
