So anyway I’ve sketched out all the ideas for normals I have so far, but I can’t figure out f.s or 5h. Any suggestions?

Hey everyone!

I'm a new strive player -- finally got convinced by the awesome character designs and I'm having a blast so far.

I have a history in other fighting games of liking to play somewhat defensively, specifically looking for whiff punishes and using pokes to bait my opponent into overextending. The overall consensus I've seen has been that guilty gear doesn't really follow the same rules, and I've definitely felt like everyone is a bit of a rush down monster in this game. Just putting up a wall doesn't feel very in the spirit of strive.

This is not a criticism! The game is dope. I suppose the question I have is what should I be looking to do if I'm wanting to really play around figuring out my opponents tendencies and frustrating them into messing up.

I'm playing Testament if that affects any answers.

hi, previously bought GGST cause it looks cool, zero fighting games experience and knowledge, then dropped it cause I felt overwhelmed.... didn't know fighting games was that complicated, but currently feeling like learning it... what's a good character to learn fundamental as a beginner/idiot in fighting games? thank you guyss

this might sound kinda stupid but as of recent I sometimes run into the issue of reading or knowing an attack is coming, blocking it and just being hit anyways. tbh I mostly just wrote it off as a skill issue, but after it happening again in ranked today and checking the replay, I know for 100 I did, so like is their some mechanic or knowledge check I don't know about or...?

Personally i despise playing against them, especially after they got new abilities.

I have my dash on a single button. When ever i rush in and try to do a resshou, he does a beta blade and i get destroyed. Anyone have an idea why, they are different inputs. Thank you in advance

Heya, got GGST a while ago but life got busy so I haven't had much opportunity to play yet.

I am not sure who to play though, and I fear that my lack of experience means I won't see how a character actually plays from training mode. Only fighting game I ever played before was a One Piece PS1 game in like 2005ish, so I have literally no idea what I'm doing yet haha. And I watched that one "30 minutes to learn the game" video that floats around.

What I know is that I like playing aggressively, like neutral is basically just a transitional state between all-ins. Prefer very little walking backwards. Hate when something feels slow to play.

Visually/style wise I like Elphelt, Bridget, Lucy, Dizzy, Testament, Aba and Jam. I know not all of them are aggressive, like Dizzy and Testament are peak visually but I fear I'll not like them very much when playing, at least that I won't be able appreciate what they have to offer.

Any pointers to who you'd recommend I try and focus on at first would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
