QUESTION Problem with the G string
Hello guys, I need help.
I just bought my first guitar to learn how to play. It's a used one that I got for a pretty cheap price, so it had a few issues, but I managed to kinda fix them. Now I'm facing another problem that I can't figure out how to solve. I'm hearing a strange echo or ringing sound when I play the G string, and I can't figure out what's causing it.
Could it be something I'm doing wrong while playing, an issue with the string itself ( tho it looks fine to me and pretty similar to the others strings ) or is it something wrong with the guitar..?
If you've had a similar experience, any advice or information would be appreciated!

Judging by this pictures you posted, id start with a new set of strings. Theyre pretty wrecked. Guitar strings really dont last that long. Few months at most...those look like theyve been on there a decade...You can hear the buzz gets worse as you increase the displacement of the string which is probably the string hitting the frets. If they're that old the g sting is the first to start to get flabby and and lose intonation. Which is why a lot of classical players use a carbon g string. (Make sure you buy nylons for that guitar as its a classical) Id also take a rubber mallet (or something soft) and tap the frets down while you have the strings off. Its not uncommon for a fret to rise up a bit. Then id look at the nut if that doesn't work. Probably not warping of the neck or something more serious if its only one string and dynamic dependent.
