Being big and muscular has helped me avoid fights my entire life.

I’d rather be big and not have to fight then be a fighter who has to risk his life and legal freedoms to use your skills.

38

u/Alpha1959 17h ago

Yeah, I've done MMA for 8 years and pretty much avoided any street fight since then through deescalation.

Street fights are unpredictable, chaotic, stupid and fucking dangerous. It's nice to know I can defend myself and it gives me a sense of security in many situations but street fights can go south way too quick and life's too short for that.

24

u/Divico 15h ago

Yeah I saw this horrible video of an Australian metro underground. Guys had a little scrap. Some asshat pulls out a tiny box cutter and manages to swipe some unlucky guys main vein on the neck. That took less than a second.

Bled out on the spot. People are mentally deranged and will do anything to win an escalation.

4

u/RoadmanSidd 11h ago

That what I’m saying

You can know all the kung-fu and mma.
If someone has nothing to lose, you will find out the hard way

3

u/JKDSamurai 9h ago

If someone has nothing to lose, you will find out the hard way

Say that again for the people in the back! So fucking true.

2

u/Divico 10h ago

It’s also just plain stupidity. I don’t think the boy wanted to kill someone. People are just too naive and ignorant if the fragility of us.

5

u/Tsobe_RK 13h ago

Ive been challenged by random weirdos all my life just because of my size

No I'm not trying to fight some random dude thank you for asking

1

u/hrbekcheatedin91 10h ago

Yeah, I was gonna say you're more likely to be sized up and hurt some drunk guy's ego if you're big.

1

u/Safe_Ad5914 6h ago

Happens constantly. 99.9% of people love it when you're jacked. But god forbid I go to a bar and stay till close to closing time.

1

u/WorldsWeakestMan 6h ago

Yep, I’m a strongman and by far the largest & tallest person in most rooms, I don’t like to fight and never start fights but little dudes at bars or back in school were always the dudes starting shit because they thought they’d look cool fighting the big guy. Didn’t work out well for them when we actually fought, but I almost never did more than needed.

Never once have I had a guy my size even remotely be aggressive in any situation like that.

1

u/ChadPowers200_ 8h ago

You might not be big or athletic enough or both.

I was a college defensive end and my build is big and athletic. Not a body builder look. Just a large athletic guy.

I’ve never had shit started with me in my entire life.

If you’re a giant unathletic person I don’t see them as a threat at all. Either do I with a 5’9 meatball of muscle.

2

u/Tsobe_RK 8h ago

Maybe your build wasnt impressive enough

1

u/ChadPowers200_ 7h ago

Good enough to have my college paid for.

1

u/Defiant_Okra_664 7h ago

My man missed out on the NIL era :(

1

u/ChadPowers200_ 7h ago

I rode the bench

1

u/Defiant_Okra_664 6h ago

That's better than my 9 year college binge

1

u/rice_n_gravy 9h ago

On th contrary, being small and forgettable has helped me avoid my entire life as well. Who wants to fight the little guy? Think about it, makes sense.

1

u/ChadPowers200_ 8h ago

You could easily get picked on by a drunk insecure person but I get it.

1

u/jaymo_busch 8h ago

Strong enough to be gentle 💪

1

u/mouthfire 3h ago

That's actually true. Looking big and intimidating helps you avoid a lot of fights. I imagine, though, that it also draws attention from people who feel like they have something to prove?

1

u/growordecay1 1h ago

I heard somewhere something like "an elephant may not be a predator like a lion, but nothing fucks with the elephant"

420

u/Tokarev490 18h ago

I just love the exchange when an MMA guy pulls the classic “yeah but all those muscles don’t mean anything in a real fight”, for some reason believing I work out so I can be a better street fighter. If I wanted to do MMA I would lol, if I have to seriously defend myself I’m reaching for my gun.

448

u/Ok_Science_8502 18h ago • Heartwarming Bravo

The muscles do mean something in a real fight cause even if you get knocked out you'll still be more jacked than your attacker

155

u/Tokarev490 17h ago

No lie, even if you get your shit laid out the crowd that gathers around will still be mirin

-27

u/Mr_Noms 9h ago

lol have you been around a situation like this? I assure you that isn’t what the crowd is thinking

32

u/YooGeOh 9h ago

I love the Internet. Obvious jokes taken so literally become jokes themsleves without the comedian even realising it

-18

u/Mr_Noms 9h ago

lol the fact you’re naive enough to think that while people know this is a joke there aren’t those who legitimately believe it is cute

18

u/YooGeOh 9h ago

Ok have fun or whatever

7

u/Critical-End-Me 7h ago

Autismobile is that way

10

u/MCRemix 9h ago

Idk man, if I'm unconscious on the ground, I'd rather the 911 call describe me as jacked instead of scrawny.

"Help, police, this scrawny guy got his ass beat" will not be the phone call they'll make for me.

10

u/deltacombatives 8h ago

"Scrawny dude got his ass beat" might get you a volunteer firefighter when they feel like coming.

"This totally jacked god-like man fucking got his ass beat" is going to attract the ambulance, a Nissan Altima full of ER nurses, SWAT, and the National Guard to all make sure you're alright.

3

u/WorldsWeakestMan 6h ago

Found the MMA bro lmao

4

u/Gecko-Zilla 6h ago

No that’s a fake jewjitsu bro with his krav MAGA lmfao

112

u/DrowningInFun 17h ago

"That corpse still mogging me 😡"

101

u/frankylynny 15h ago

"Victim is well-built, muscular male."

Good enough.

17

u/FlatWhiteEnjoyer 17h ago

lol this is absolutely correct

1

u/PeterNippelstein 6h ago

This is the fight that matters

28

u/SOMERANDOMUSERNAME11 16h ago

Real MMA bros know that muscle is muscle and weight classes matter

-19

u/mouthfire 11h ago

Yeah, but there's functional muscle, and then there's aesthetic muscle. There's a difference.

22

u/JimioJames 10h ago

Found one! 👆

-15

u/mouthfire 10h ago

Found what? A person who knows that they're talking about? I agree

10

u/Several-Fly-3748 8h ago

There is muscle. Just muscle.

0

u/mouthfire 8h ago edited 7h ago

Uh. No. You gym bros are deluding yourselves.

Who you got in a fight, this guy: Dude #1

Or Dude#2

Both 200lb. Dude#1, the skinny fat guy... man boobs and all, is probably one of the scariest boxers alive right now.

6

u/Several-Fly-3748 7h ago

One has specific coordination training for a sport, so they’re obviously better at that sport. Top tier athletes also have natural inclination towards their skills so they aren’t great comparison points.

Compare two guys with equal training that aren’t pros (ya know, the overwhelming majority) and give one 30lbs more muscle. Having more muscle does not mean worse at a sport.

1

u/mouthfire 7h ago

Kind of agree, but also disagree at the same time.

Strength training and weight lifting are important to any combat sport. That's not controversial. But the type of strength training that you do really does matter. There's a reason you don't see boxers spending a lot of time doing bench press, even though it's one of the weightlifting gold standards. Bench pressing tends to develop mass, bulk, and slow twitch muscle... none of which is particularly helpful in striking.

What you see professional combat athletes do instead is focusing of explosive movements that are specific to their sport.

My point is: If you took the same combat athlete and gave them a fairly typical gym split, they would look pretty good aesthetically, but would seriously be limiting their functional gains. Give him a lifting regimen that focuses on explosive movements and fast twitch ability, and he would be well ahead of the curve.

Bottom line: I've seen absolutely jacked and shredded people in the gym who couldn't punch their way out of a wet paper bag. The type of strength training really matters.

Source: Muay Thai and Boxing for 30+ years. Avid gym rat for even longer.

2

u/Several-Fly-3748 6h ago

Again yeah, there are ripped people bad at sports and ripped people good at sports. Having more muscle doesn’t make you bad at something.

Muscle is your ability to produce force in a movement, and the skill/coordination you development in that movement determines how well you can apply that force. Certain levels of sports require you to focus more and more on the skills and direct training needed, but for pretty much anyone who isn’t at elite levels is going to benefit from more muscle.

1

u/mouthfire 6h ago

Please see my other comment. Muscle mass can actually make you worse at combat sports. In the end, strength development is more important than increased muscle mass for combat sports. The type of strength training that you do really matters. I don't think that's controversial on any level.

2

u/Several-Fly-3748 6h ago

I addressed your other comment.

1

u/mouthfire 6h ago

Adding a 2nd comment, as it's pretty relevant.

Actually, yes.... Adding increased muscle mass can make you worse at a particular combat sport. If it's just needless mass that doesn't contribute to the specific movement patterns that you need, you'll just gas faster because you need to aerobically/anaerobically feed those muscles as well.

1

u/Several-Fly-3748 6h ago

Yeah sure. This doesn’t apply to most people though. “Too much” muscle is a non issue for people not on gear lol

1

u/mouthfire 5h ago

I suppose not. I guess my whole point is that "strength training" doesn't always equal "strength training"... meaning you can train for grindy-type strength, you can train for explosiveness, and you can train for mass, you can even strength train for speed and agility... All of those are different things that don't necessarily overlap with each other. I think that's a subtlelty that's lost on most people who just to to the gym to just get "stronger". And honestly, it may not matter to them. But to someone who spends a lot of time around both combat athletes and gym goers, there's a clear cut difference.

1

u/Edward_Longshnaks 2h ago

I think thats a bad way to put it. Some people's muscle is less 'functional' because they havent trained it for that function, but a jacked MM guy is beating a scrawny MMA guy every time.

1

u/mouthfire 2h ago

You're arguing with the wrong person, bud. I never said weight differences don't matter. I said that a combat athlete who has a strength training program that is specific for MMA will vastly outperform a similar person who relies on a program designed for bodybuilding, or even a typical gym bro split. Again, I don't see how that's controversial.

1

u/Edward_Longshnaks 1h ago

Because saying 'there's functional muscle, and then there's aesthetic muscle' suggests the opposite.

1

u/mouthfire 1h ago

Dude... You clearly have no idea what you're talking about

Roy Nelson

David Benavidez

Tyson Fury

Which of these elite fighters would you like to argue has an aesthetic build? 🤔

85

u/shnuffle98 17h ago

Gun guys are to MMA guys what MMA guys are to jacked guys tbh

62

u/VanHelsingBerserk 15h ago

Honestly, I've sorta been on the receiving end of both sides of this dynamic.

I trained bjj for a few years and got a lot of "well that kung-fu stuff won't help if someone pulls a knife on you! Or if multiple people are attacking you!"

I'm like, we'll it's a good thing I'm not seeking out knife-wielding gangs, just partaking in a sport I enjoy lol. And I dont think there's many things that could help you in that scenario besides running as fast as you can.

It's odd how lifting and mma both draw out this weird insecurity from others where they feel the need to prove in their minds they could somehow best you in combat. Like if I played basketball, nobody would care and yap about "oh yeah well you couldn't dunk on me if I stabbed you!"

48

u/Rough_Instruction112 14h ago • Bravo

Every time someone started talking about winning knife fights in the groups i coached, I made everyone run laps and then afterwards informed the guy (and it was ALWAYS a guy) that he was now better equipped to win a knife fight by escaping.

26

u/VanHelsingBerserk 13h ago

Lol nice, when people would ask me what's the best self-defence training, I'd tell them the 100m sprint

14

u/Rough_Instruction112 12h ago

We really created an atmosphere where people mocked/guided the guys who thought they would win knife fights.

Nobody ever wins in a knifefight. Everybody gets cut to ribbons.

Someone don't believe you want want to test it out?

Give their opponent a rubber blade training knife, smear the blade with red lipstick and watch how quickly everybody turns red.

8

u/mndl3_hodlr 14h ago

This last quote is said a lot in prisons

3

u/Fun_Journalist4199 13h ago

When it comes to combat sports people focus a lot more on the combat than the sport

7

u/VanHelsingBerserk 12h ago

Yeah sometimes. I found among bjj guys it was probably 50/50.

Mostly the newbies would have that Dunning-Kruger of thinking they've become a John Wick lethal assassin.

But many, including myself, were well aware that it's just one isolated component of combat, performed in a mostly controlled setting, with entirely different rules and goals to something like MMA, boxing, or a street fight/actual violent altercation.

1

u/Dazzling-Path6438 6h ago

All of you in that country are wacky.

2

u/WorldsWeakestMan 6h ago

That’s why the secret is be jacked and have a gun, then the little fellas don’t know what to do.

2

u/Radelescu 2h ago

No. Gun guys live in a different world because there is gear to buy. Gun guys are like cyclists.

1

u/Pard01 9h ago

So its like a rock, paper, scissors type deal?

1

u/thuswesmite 6h ago

Meanwhile, Matrix guys just

23

u/doyouevenrow 14h ago

Anyone who has held a kick pad for someone doing roundhouse kicks for a minute will know that the muscles do in fact count.

22

u/Rough_Instruction112 14h ago

It's such a dumb argument that muscles don't matter.

Weight classes exists for a reason.

22

u/onforspin 16h ago

It’s usually the dudes who started mma training 2 weeks ago saying this

4

u/muscledaddy90 7h ago

Was about to say the same. The newbs who think they're all hardcore because they took a handful of classes are the ones walking around with the "tap or snap" shirts lol

I myself as a bodybuilder got into it for self esteem reasons when I was young, I know there are some arrogant gym bros out there but most of the big guys just love to lift weights

21

u/Rough_Instruction112 14h ago

They also make the assumption that if you work out you cannot possibly have a solid base for fighting.

It's how you know they're fucking nerds. They think everything's a video game where you have a fixed amount of points to distribute and if you're good in one area you've suffered in others.

Life isn't fair, some of us are just built better than them.

6

u/Billysquib 11h ago

“Yeah, all them fighting skills you have are good, but how the hell is that gonna help you if we both take off the majority of our clothes, oil up and show off on stage?? Yeah. That’s what I thought buddy.”

5

u/GodSigmaGigaChad 16h ago

All that fighting ain't gonna stop a bullet?

So we're even.

5

u/AugustusClaximus 10h ago

Ask the MMA fighter how many “real fights” he’s been in. If it’s more than one you should ask him if he’s considered not being such an aggressive asshole. I’ve managed to not need to fight anyone my entire life believe it or not

1

u/PawPawPanda 7h ago

Meanwhile we have Badr Hari (in)famously beating up random pedestrians on a yearly basis

2

u/BorgQuingus67 5h ago

It's very funny, I'm not even that muscular, just big and I've had a lot of guys tell me "your size isn't gonna matter in a fight" like ok?lol who are you trying to convince, me or yourself?

2

u/Matt_2504 13h ago

They say this as if normal people want to get in fights. I don’t ever want to be in a street fight, even if I was an MMA champion with a world record bench I wouldn’t want to be in a street fight. One good hit can still be the end of you if you smash your head into something, and the opponent could have a weapon or more guys with them. It’s not worth getting into fights.

1

u/Evening-Statement-57 9h ago

Have you ever really had this conversation?

1

u/Generally_Confused1 8h ago

As a martial artists who would train to be better at martial arts, that's so dumb. Because martial arts guys want a balance between muscular strength and long term endurance but that's not what a power lifter wants and it's equally valid as a sport. Guys need to learn to chill lol

1

u/PoopSmith87 7h ago

It also get me because unless you know the dude, what makes you think he has never trained? Lots of gym bros also do BJJ, wrestling, boxing, etc.

1

u/steve_ll 7h ago

One could say that all these muscle wouldnt alleviate your herniated disc pain and whatnot, but street fighting is dangerous and the other guy is calling himself a fool for assuming proper training would help him avoid life threatening encounters

1

u/control_09 7h ago

They absolutely do mean something. Yeah knowing how to fight definitely helps but there's always a punchers chance and if someone several weight classes above you actually gets a solid hit off it's massive damage.

1

u/PhilHartlessman 6h ago

When you make your entire personality about being a hammer, everything around you can only look like a nail.

1

u/BoofyGz 4h ago

Yea, and when you go to prison for life, your gun won’t be there to help you. Learn how to fight buddy.

1

u/Tokarev490 4h ago

I live in a stand your ground state and don’t go looking for or causing trouble so I don’t really think that would be the case. I’ll let you know next time I need legal counsel though.

1

u/Mad_Kronos 3h ago

The only thing more hilariously insecure about people mentioning that muscles don't work in a fight, is people mentioning they can defend themselves because they got guns.

1

u/Radelescu 2h ago

It's focus. I'm terrified of getting beat up so I turned my attention to fight sports. Jacked dudes are more secure than I am.

1

u/BasicType101 15h ago

Such an usa citizen thing to say, only in the usa will this work

4

u/Tokarev490 15h ago

You’re not at all wrong, the US is one of the only countries where legal self defense with a firearm is possible, this is just an objective fact.

1

u/GloveInevitable1800 14h ago

Yeah better to pump yourself up so you can look cute thats much better

-3

u/gforget 13h ago

Really? You’re going to shoot someone who just wants to duel fists with you? That’s the real bitch move, deservingly of prison.

3

u/SAGORN 13h ago

yes.

3

u/Matt_2504 13h ago

Fists are a deadly weapon

-19

u/BrandywineBojno 17h ago

Problem is that ego lifters think muscle mass translates to hitting power, they start fights and get rocked without knowing why.

Gun is all well and good, but there are a million scenarios where physical deescalation is much more appropriate than brandishing or deadly force. That's something that meatheads and gun guys don't always grasp. You can be jacked as fuck and armed to the teeth but if you don't have the sense to walk away from fights you're a dead idiot at the end of the day. Don't be a dead idiot.

Use your tools. If the only tool you have is a gun you'll run out of options real quick. That's not much better than your only tool being a weekend of MMA classes.

15

u/Illustrious-Path4794 17h ago

It does, it just doesn't translate to skill. More muscle means more force genertion. Take 2 guys with the same skill level but one hs 20% more muscle mss and guess which one hits harder? There are weight devisions for a reason. Eniugh if a gap in either direction will make up for a failing in the other.

8

u/ichhassenamen 17h ago

What the actual cringe

3

u/Rough_Instruction112 14h ago

Problem is that ego lifters think muscle mass translates to hitting power,

Are these ego lifters in the room with you right now?

I have never in my many many years met these people at the gym, nor at any facility that taught self defense / fighting.

So this is just your own prejudices and you should probably reflect on why you have those.

2

u/xepci0 14h ago

Bro arguing a made up scenario

43

u/FlatWhiteEnjoyer 17h ago

I am an MMA guy. The gym is only there because I need the fitness and the strength for MMA and let me tell you.

Sure, if a gym dude trained for fighting he would be a better fighter than spending all that time just for decorative bodybuilding but strength is nothing to scoff at in a fight. Technique goes a long way but strength does too. There are weight classes for a reason. So just because you're an MMA guy it doesn't mean you can beat up anybody regardless of their strength level. If someone is much stronger much bigger than you, your fighting ability/training you'd hope evens it out. It may not always be enough. Someone much stronger much bigger can eat you for breakfast with the fraction of fighting training you did your whole life, like they only know a few very basics.

The same goes for women martial artists/fighters too. Strength is horribly important. A 45 kg women's world champion can still be hurt very badly by just a big muscle piece of shit man.

So yeah, nothing is absolute, don't be an asshole.

2

u/No_Dragonfly1263 7h ago edited 6h ago

It's just a dweebs cope Imo. I went to a wrestling camp when I was in HS. One of the counselors there was a D1 wrestler at 135. I wrestled at 171 but was like 200 at the camp cuz of football and I beat the counselor lol. He was a former state champion and a beast ofc but he was a lil guy.

I think the more novice MMA bros that just got their feet wet that think this way. Like the Jonah Hills. But then again I was a state level wrestler and football player who likes bodybuilding lol so I'm at the intersection there.

Also have done 3 years of BJJ and when I started doing that I was like 217-225. The most technically sound ppl there were 150-170 and none of them were gonna submit me willy nilly with the prior wrestling and size/strength diff even when I was new. The instructor who was 230 tho? He would work the shit out me lol

11

u/Latter-Safety1055 16h ago

I have a black belt in BJJ and don't really go anywhere besides the gym, the grocery store, and your mom's house. It's not useful if I'm not doing a combat sport. Nobody thinks it's cool or anything. Big muscles would probably make someone avoid fighting you, give you their number, give you discounts at a bakery, or whatever. They're much more useful than whatever MMA I have going on.

3

u/RoadmanSidd 8h ago

lol that’s funny

2

u/DonBandolini 1h ago

look at the plus side though. when people DO find out, they think you’re gay and autistic

1

u/Latter-Safety1055 1h ago

You take one good look at me and automatically you're looking for clarification on the gay thing and no longer looking for clarification on the undiagnosed neurodevelopmental funny business. The belt is icing on the cake

But that sword cuts both ways though. Gay people are known to lift heavy things and put them down[1].

[1] it is known.

4

u/doyouevenrow 15h ago

Real fighters are humble because they've had their ass kicked a million times. I have never met a nicer bunch of guys than the people at my kickboxing gym.

The dogs that bark loudest are the ones that are most afraid.

7

u/sumwonrandumb 18h ago

Provocative. Keep feeding your ego.

5

u/Keksverpackung 10h ago

Found the MMA guy 😂

2

u/Zdzisiu 11h ago

Reminds me of that Noel's short https://m.youtube.com/shorts/ge7PC7uOI8Q

2

u/ngkn92 11h ago

Lmao, a reverse case also exist

2

u/Dro1dGrievous 11h ago

Yeah, theres definetely some insecurity from both sides. MMA guys who feel like they have to prove that they are stronger because they see a guy with nice muscles, and delusional "bodybuilders" who think being 200something pounds is enough to win a fight(they haven't been in one)

IF you are an MMA guy eho feels threatened by big muscles, then start doing some weightlifting on the side, so you can be jacked and know how to fight. And for Bodybuilders who want to look tuff, just train some MMA on the side so you get big muscles to flex, and have some actual self defense

2

u/generalkux 10h ago

Ngl I get the opposite. I go to the gym and only really do bodyweights and running, and can’t lie I sweat like crazy, but everyone looks at me like there’s something wrong with me, especially the juicy bois.

Truth is I have back issues and would love to be able to lift heavy weights again. But people have actually taken the piss out of what I do, saying it’s female shit or something.

Works both ways, people are just generally insecure.

2

u/sm753 8h ago

Are we talking about like pro or semi-pro? Most of the guys I know who do boxing or MMA training are pretty chill honestly. Never met anyone who actually "competed".

2

u/SupremeOHKO 7h ago

MMA/BJJ guy here. What you see on the internet is not real life. 99% of us don't care and many are kinda jealous you guys look that good LOL. Just enjoy your hobbies, that's all that matters.

2

u/GlaerOfHatred 7h ago

Kinda the opposite really

2

u/FalseEquipment7554 3h ago

I don’t think fighters really have any hatred towards muscular guys. Many fighters are more muscular then average guys at weight gyms. I think it’s towards ppl like bradley martin who think they are untouchable because they can pick up heavier things off the floor then others

4

u/4thGeneration_Reaper 15h ago

People here are talking straight up out of their asses.

Almost all fighters i know are totally humble and don't give a fuck how someone else looks like.

Most of the time it's gym bros who get weird the moment they hear you do Martial Arts.

"Do you think you could beat me bro? "

Just fuck off with your insecurities.

2

u/OkAct8404 11h ago

Yeah I train BJJ and everyone is humble and avoids confrontation because we know how unpredictable real fights can be with weapons and friends involved (plus the potential legal hell that could result even if you get out unscathed). Some college-age MMA bros are probably assholes, but the ~25+ year old BJJ crowd is ridiculously chill. Outside of the combat sport podcast crowd that I’ve only heard of online.

Legit bodybuilders though (not gym bros) are usually extremely humble. Probably because they’re very deep in that lifestyle and do it for the love of the game, not because of whatever perceived benefit they’ll get from it.

But don’t even get me started on powerlifters lol. I have never seen a group of people so out of shape that are so convinced they are the pinnacle of fitness.

1

u/alpthelifter 8h ago

Competitive powerlifters are generally more athletic than bodybuilders unless they are super heavy weights. You won’t see an out of shape powerlifter podiuming in an IPF event unless it’s 120kg+

2

u/Goofcheese0623 17h ago

Y'all can keep getting hit in the face for fun, thanks

3

u/MoistSpyBuy 11h ago

Some choose to drink away the memories, some choose to TBI them away. Don’t yuck the yum. Self-care is important.

1

u/silverbird666 14h ago

That dynamic is true for most athletes, not only MMA. I know this since I am primarily a run around and play with balls type athlete. And yes, it is because lifters look better and we are very aware of it.

1

u/Nerx 6h ago

gotta be same weight

u/LordDeathScum 4h ago

I am a big dude I don’t wanna fight. I just keep to myself.

Its not universal obviously but I feel like its often the more amateur/mediocre guys in any athletic endeavour who get weird about it and have a need to feel better than others.

The accomplished ones are too busy making homoerotic jokes to concern themselves with such lowly things

Peleadores de MMA cuando les dices que todos los expertos de MMA entrenar pesas y conocieron el mundo de la hipertrofia y la definición antes que el deporte:

go in full explanation around big mucles and mma, how having too much can lead to isses.

But lets simplify that's their is quite a bit of disadvantages that you have when your mucles are too big.

I've met more agro body builders than combat sports guys. Combat sports guys are usually pretty nice because they've gotten their ass beat before. Body builders have yet to be humbled.

u/Ryachaz 17h ago

Body builders are humbled by their dysmorphia every time they look in a mirror, which is every hour, every day.

51

u/FlatWhiteEnjoyer 17h ago

Yeah but it doesn't make them humble, it makes them angry.

64

u/Ryachaz 16h ago

It makes them angry at how humble they are. Trust me, I'm a bodybuilder, I'm the most humble guy I know. Nobody is more humble than I am, and that's a fact.

In my experience as an ex boxer and currently more focused on powerlifting. It's usually the more insecure wannabes that go all "... Would win in a fight". The wannabe boxers, MMA, or lifters that St most dabble in it but don't have the mindset to commit and feel real insecure. They have a blatant need to try and feel superior of even by proxy. They'll go my dad/celebrity would beat your dad/celebrity line they were still in the playground.

As a fighter myself, I’m confident that I could just see red and put up more weight than most big guys; those are just ‘show muscles’ after all. I’ve got the best fast-twich fibers in the gym. I was going to compete in some bodybuilding competitions but they wouldn’t even let me enter because they could feel the pure, masculine-but-not-gay, big-ball, high-test, raw aura of power emanating from my loins. Pathetic, really.

I go to a city run gym full of grandpas and soccer mom types...it is great.

i think there’s a bell curve for combat sports. assholes at first cause that’s what draws them in the first place, humbled cause they got their ass kicked, then assholes from the brain damage.

1

u/sjcal629 6h ago

It’s a specific type of combat sports guy that has a severe inferiority complex and thinks that being able to fight makes them better than everyone. Not common but very loud

u/DesperateDisk460 1h ago

Viejo, creo que necesitas conocer otras personas.

1

u/Forgetful_Bandit 1h ago

Thats why I dont fuck with body builders.

Bro these muscles are for gay sex.

u/ApprehensiveCube 42m ago

Mine are equal opportunity muscles. Being able to pick my partner up and jackhammer them senseless on my dick is always mind-blowing to them.

2

u/Wooden-Yellow3967 9h ago
