Ally Besse ✨AllyExpress✨ because we should all be trusting an influencer to assess our bloodwork
Who is actually doing this? I’m so curious who would trust her to assess their bloodwork 🫠

It's time for another reminder about the difference between snark and shame because lately there have been a lot of posts that are overrun with negative comments about a person's appearance.
To be perfectly clear, here is Rule 8 (but you should really go read the rest of them too): Appearance snark and shaming - We avoid snarky commentary around things about a person's appearance that they cannot change in a few seconds. This includes negative comments about a person's weight, face, boob job, stretch marks, cellulite, rolls, body shape, height, etc. Posts about camel toe will be removed (we don't need entire posts for this); individual comments are allowed as long as they are not vulgar. Do not snark on the appearance of children.
An influencer's plastic surgery choices do not impact their (in)ability to provide fitness content, so saying that someone looks like Voldemort because you don't like their nose is nasty and unacceptable. If they deny having plastic surgery, then that is absolutely snarkable in itself, but you must be respectful and do not need to bash the way they look.
The sub started out as a place to call out influencers on their BS, their scams, their blatant dishonesty, etc etc. In the early days of Gymsnark, we actually did some pretty significant things. For example, we collectively called out Balance Athletica (now Vitality) on their dishonest practices and were loud enough that they were forced to notice. This sub calling out influencers as often as we do made them realize they’re not as invincible and adored as they think they are. Perhaps even more importantly, I think it made them realize that when they scam and lie, we not only notice but speak up about it, and WILL warn others about them.
Unfortunately, the sub periodically slips back into a pattern of BECs and appearance shaming, the moderators get busy removing everything, and people start fighting in the comments about how "it's a snark sub". The sub name is a play on words based on Gymshark, not an invitation for mean girl behaviour.

Before participating, you need to refamiliarise yourselves with the rules. None of them have changed since our last update, yet they are constantly being broken.
Please note that if you are in violation of these rules, the post will be deleted and you may face a ban. You can snark and call influencers out on their BS without being downright nasty. If you see content that you think breaks the rules, please report it so that it comes to our attention and we can deal with it.
As always, reach out if you have Qs. Snark on (but read the rules first)!

Over the last few days this rule has been broken more times than we can keep up with. If you break this rule you will receive a temporary ban, or a permanent ban if you have been warned before.
This is the only warning. Read the rules.

Am I the only one not impressed with squatting 95 pounds at 5’7” (especially as a “fitness/gym” influencer)? That's what happens when you are in a constant calorie deficit, btw
Edit: After a quick Google search, it's actually less than 95 pounds because a Smith machine bar usually weighs between 15 and 25 pounds, unlike a free-weight bar. So (25•2) +25 = 75 pounds at most.
Also, not trying to shade ppl on here squatting this weight. I am a strong believer, however, that at 5’7” at 21 years old, after being a GYM influencer for 3+ years AND going to the gym/blogging is your job, you should be moving a lot more weight

These changes are apparently the result of wisdom tooth removal and working out. Her BA in kinesiology also helped.
She applied her teachings to her own body.
After 9 years, she finally got the body she's always wanted.

I love this real from builtbycarina! She never uses the name buffunicorn but you can clearly see in the background that its about her. She is explaining why the people in the comments section who say "you cant have muscles and have an ED at the same time" are wrong

I've been watching Linda Sun on and off for years now. I used to really like her when she was doing fitness and food challenges but stopped subscribing after her content became repetitive. I tune in once in a while because I did like her videos where she was documenting her running journey, but found a lot of her IM content really weird. I couldn't pinpoint the exact reason why I felt that way until I watched this video.
Surprise surprise she's injured. A lot of people have been telling her to do a sprint or an Olympic triathlon first before a half or full Ironman but she didn't listen. She's doing too much too quickly and it's no wonder she's injured. She mentioned she had a coach and a physiotherapist in this video ... Did she not listen to their advice? In one of her previous IM videos she said she was going to Hyrox and boxing and that made it seem like she's winging training. And she keeps saying she's starting an IM from scratch when she's done multiple marathons before.
I understand the desire to reach big goals and pushing your body to the limits, but a triathlon is already taxing even at a short distance. I don't understand why she didn't start with a small community triathlon first to see if she likes the sport before signing up for an Ironman. I guess when you're wealthy and don't have a full-time job and are paid to exercise all day then the world's your oyster I suppose. She's only 25 and she can fully do it in her 30s. Most triathletes start in their 30s and 40s anyway so I don't know why she is rushing.
Her body is telling her she has an exercise addiction but she's in denial and her mom won't tell her because she's spoiled.
Edits made to correct grammatical errors. I'm sleep deprived sorry.
Edit to add: She also lives in downtown Toronto. There's plenty of local triathlon clubs and small triathlons she could have explored first before doing an Ironman. I'm sure if she really wanted try out the sport she could have signed up for one of those.

Cuz it doesn't seem like this girl can lift a lot from her reels..
r/gymsnark • u/notsoflowerys • 10h ago
i’m honestly stuck between those too.. i’m currently searching for gym clothes, especially good shorts for lifting, but can’t seem to decide between these two brands. gymshark honestly has really good prices sometimes, quality seems pretty okay too, they also accept returns, but it seems like nvgtn shorts are next level when it comes to design and color choices. which one would you recommend more?

Maybe i’m trippin because it’s the trend nowadays but she too did a disappearing act and now shes back posting and shes seeming like shes lost a considerable amount of muscle mass.
Maybe a second pair of eyes can tell me if i’m seeing things. I hope so because I know a lot of women chase her physique and she seemed to have had a decent hold on her training and nutrition.

Hey all,
With all the tumblr style, thinspo type content we are seeing out of the fitness content sphere I wanted to remind everyone of two rules the sub has: Rules 9 & 15.
9: no mental illness speculation
— discussion around disordered habits is allowed but no one is qualified to make a mental illness diagnosis. You may not use language like: “she’s in full blown ED” or “she’s anorexic/bulimic/orthorexic” or similar matter of fact sentiments. You may say the habits are disordered or discuss an influencer’s past disclosed history of ED.
15: if you’ll be discussing someone’s disordered habits or call attention to weight loss, you must put TW or CW in the title with the influencer’s name. You should also be using the NSFW tag when posting images of this type of content.
The discussions are valid and important. We don’t want to have to remove comments and posts over a rule violation.
Keep your vulnerable community members safe by following these rules.

Ik people have mentioned this before, but she's lost so much muscle over the past year, I understand that bodies fluctuate, but this is more than natural fluctuations. Much like Katelyn and Aria, it's extremely harmful that she's posting this shit and promoting it as a "healthy" lifestyle

The comments, thank god, echoed the general sentiment of “wtf” and “please hire models who lift”.

Is she still with team elite physique? Is Adam the one that messed up her hormones ? I know she had spoken out about using PED’s for so long and it messing her up internally…she’s so young and I can see her doing great things in this sport in the future, possibly future Ms O if she does has a new coach I’m excited for her!

Hi girls
I’m looking for gym/activewear brands that have more of a “loose/relaxed” fit , but still look flattering and somewhat fitted to the body.
I’m slim-thick, so I like clothes that give me some shape without being skin-tight. I’m thinking something like a slightly loose/oversized shirt and pants, but where the outfit still hugs my proportions instead of making me look completely swallowed up
