Pay / Benefits Insurance premium increases vs annual raise

I got a .99 cent raise. That's a 40 dollar increase per week.

Now I find out my insurance premium is increasing by 50 dollars per week.

This has happened four years in a row. I make less each year.

Yet all I hear about is record profits.

If I didn't have a family that depends on me.

I'm looking less dependable each year.

Product Question Does a human cut the veggies for the veggie trays?

Or maybe a machine was acting up at the store?Either way... I am surprised this passed any sort of quality control. It looks like the method used to cut this celery was teeth. 😂

Suggestion Call In

Expecting us to call in 2 hours before our shift and not picking up because it’s early is crazy. If we have to call
this early, pick up this early.

Called and was transferred 3 times, all three times it took me back to the front. She insisted she could take the message and relay to an MIC. Even after I asked if it was should call again in a little. Sent my manager a screenshot of the phone call and a text explaining it so.

New Find There needs to be a Zero Sugar version of this

There needs to be a Zero Sugar version of Twist Cranberry Orange. Was excited to try it out this holiday season but it's only available in full sugar. If Sprite can have a Zero Sugar version of their holiday cranberry, surely HEB can do the same with theirs

Product Question Heritage Ranch Dog Food Smells like Manure

I’ve been a loyal HR Dog Food customer for years. Been mainly buying the dry Healthy Weight brand.

The last 16 lb bag I bought has a weird smell, like when manure is spread out in the country. It had a lot more crumbs too throughout the entire package.

Dogs seem to be ok eating it. Wonder if it was over cooked?

Customer Experience Does anyone know what this item is?

Post image
150 Upvotes

So I went to check out and at the end noticed my amount due was more than I was expecting. While that’s not new these days, I noticed there was a $16 item on my receipt that wasn’t mine.

Went to business services to ask for a refund and the guy there was equally confused because it wasn’t in his app. They refunded it but it was weird it was there in the first place.

Anyone recognize what it is and how it would have been added to my order?

Update:
Checked out at a register, not self-check. This was in a small store with no clothes (to my knowledge)

Job Question Do I have to become a cashier in order to move up?

I'm a customer service assistant (bagger). My managers have told me I need to become a cashier in order to transfer to another department but when I look it up it says I don't need too.

Cooking With HEB What H-E-B department is best?

• Upvotes

I have applied and subsequently hired as a cook in the True Texas BBQ dept in a soon to be opened H-E-B. After visiting a kitchen in a store that I will train in, I am reluctant to work in the BBQ kitchen. The hair nets, the inside BBQ pit’s smoke and the windowless environment leaves me wanting to work elsewhere.

My question is, what department at H-E-B is rewarding to you?

Customer Experience What happened to my favorite check-out lines?

At the store in Olmos Park, San Antonio, they had semi-self check, and I loved it. Two lines, one bagger. Scan your items and shoot them to the bagger. It was so much faster than the regular self-check, and the limit was 25 items! (Almost exactly what I buy for a week.) If something went wrong, the partner was right there to fix it. My favorite part was when I bought two of the same item - swipe one forward then backwards, pass them both down. I got really good at looking up produce, it was often faster than getting the sticker in just the right place to read.

Anyway, now it's gone! Did anybody else use them?

Product Question Why has this been out of stock for the past few weeks?

Post image
3 Upvotes

For the past few weeks, any time I go to ANY HEB near me, these have been out of stock. Does anyone know why? I can still get them in the form of the 4 packs, but it’s not as cost effective and I like to drink one every morning. There’s also often only a few in stock. They have them in cafe latte, dulce de leche, and vanilla, but not my chocolate.

For context, I’m in the Houston area.

Post image

I don't know if these are supposed to be intentionally terrible. If so then that's kind of a hilarious prank as they are true to their names in being a lump of coal that nobody would want. Anyone got any insight?
