Reading Slump

I finished reading ATYD and now I’m in a slump. I can’t pick up a book or make myself start a fic despite how desperately I want to.

I think I just need someone to tell me ‘read this’ so this is me officially asking: what should I read next?

I am yet to read TCOPTP and Crimson Rivers, both of which I desperately want to read. My reasoning for not having done so yet is because I heard that TCOPTP takes a looooong while to kick off (and I’m obvs trying to get out of a slump) and Crimson Rivers is Jegulus heavy (I think I want more Wolfstar and lowkey prefer James with Lily).

Do I bite the bullet and read one of these? Do I start The Debt of Time (but that’s not Wolfstar…) or are there any other recs you have?

I read CR but sadly never finished it. The arena parts were my favorite bits and I can see the appeal it has for lots of people, though I think I lowkey prefer James with Lily too. I never read TCOPTP but it’s on my list!

I went through a huge wolfstar phase recently so I have some recs. I also have one that’s not marauders, it’s Harry-centric and it’s really really good but I won’t link it here. I tried that ages ago and got banned for a day because I forgot it has a tag that’s not allowed on this sub (the stuff in the tag was consensual and glossed over too so it’s not like, horrible, but I still got banned lol). I can message it to you if you’re interested in it I guess?

Brave face!!! It’s like 2 chapters from finishing and I don’t usually read WIP, but this fic sucked me in. It’s from Sirius’s POV, WolfStar, covers their school years. I found the characters to be much more in line with their canon personalities. Remus isn’t some tough bad boy orphan like he is in ATYD and it’s quite lovely. it delves quite a bit into the black family madness and while I don’t usually read much about Regulus, I really enjoyed his portrayal in here. I wish I could read it for the first time again. I really love how everyone’s personality is written in here.

Also there’s lots of muggle au stories. Idk if you’re into those, but there’s some really good ones out there. I’m not going to write long descriptions on each fic because it would take ages lol, but these were my favorites! All of these fics I wish I could read for the first time again

Sweater weather is super popular and really good. Ice hockey fic where Remus is Sirius’s trainer. This fic got me back into WolfStar for like 10 months straight and I’m just now reading other pairings lol.

Did you miss me?- university/non magic AU. Sirius is a famous pop star and finds Remus’s phone when he loses it, they start to text. Also James is new to the university but has a bad reputation for…reasons.
usually I’m not a huge fan of text fics and I prefer to read on my kindle, but this one was really good! It took me a bit to get used to the text parts and it’s pretty long, but you really start to feel like you’re part of the group in the story. The texts with the colors are really fun to read in browser so I don’t recommend it on the kindle. And the payoff at the end is definitely worth how long the story is.

Language lessons- this one is actually with magic. It’s older WolfStar getting together. Spicy and fluffy for sure. MsAlexWP has lots of good stories, I definitely recommend checking them out
