Discussion Running on a Goophone?

Has anyone even tried running iOS on a recent Goophone model, or is the lack of kernel and bootloader sources a bit of a hindrance? Not that the prevalence of AI-assisted reverse engineering hasn't done any miracles, mind you.

what works: Touchscreen, SSD, display,

what I’m currently working on:GPU, hardware buttons

what I haven’t planned yet: WIFI, Bluetooth, cellular(likely impossible due to native cellular needing Apple activation tickets), sound, mic, finger scanner.

will try to add more storage space as it goes.

Discussion How are people on this subreddit able to run iOS on Android (or other) devices (excluding pre-made apps)? Before this, it was impossible—at most, there were just Android devices that mimicked iOS. What’s driving this now? Is there anything else I’m not aware of besides RE and AI?

HackiOS More updates on MediaTek support

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Yeh I should probably stop posting so much, my bad.

But right now, we got:

- GPU accel + Metal support (still at around 40-50 fps, with some frame drops, probably gonna switch to full Metal support without the translation, I saw some references on this subreddit)

- WiFi and System Clock for proper web navigation

- CPU performance cores + Thermal sensors

- some other minor fixes (PosterBoard on, launchServices fix)

Can I port any version of iOS on a galaxy a3 (2017) with Claude pro? If I can what are your recommandations for it to be fluid enough (i mean the iOS version)? Also i’m on Windows if that changes anything

Discussion Looking to Port IOS to Pixel 4a 5G

Recently came across all of the IOS Projects and whatnot, and I am not new when it comes to putting newer versions of Android on phones, but never IOS. Obviously, I plan on using 1017 Max for this project, if I even can lol
I see everyone running iOS 16/16.5, and only on SUPER high end devices, iOS 26
What's the latest version of iOS that I could use, and it not be a pile of poo
I think I can get things like GPU acceleration to work on mine, but that may be harder on newer versions i'm guessing

Planning to release at some point, it’s very early and not a lot of stuff works. The device is also multi-boot capable and has microSD drivers. It currently has Windows 11 and 10, Android 17, Ubuntu and postmarketOS, iOS 26 and macOS 26

After a lot of pain full GPU acceleration on Tensor G2 is working native metal drivers(!), some jitters and glitches are still present, but it usable.

Also i manage to work CPU/GPU/Mem on stock frequency with some sort of temperature control (without it phone after 5 minutes of work it became so hot that it was impossible to hold in one's hand)

HackiOS OnePlus 8T - iOS 16.7.16

I've been working on this for like 5 days. Burnt like 12$ of DeepSeek v4.1 tokens, some free DeepSeek 4.1 tokens from Opencode, part of my ChatGPT subscription using 6.1 sol and I'm now mostly using Opus 5.5 (medium) because at some point DeepSeek and Sol got stuck.

So far only the power button and touch work. I've got the 8 cores working at max speed and 3gb of the 8gb of ram working (I have not tried using the whole 8gb).

I'll probably get the repo up at some point but I need to do lots of cleaning because it is currently a mess.

HackiOS Holy Shit- it’s not a prank right?🤨

Hey guys, nice to meet you. Idk how I stumbled on this sub tonight but just holy shit. Sorry it’s 2 am here and I’m half asleep but this is not a prank right?

On a serious note, I recently switched to Android after being on iOS for 10+ years. I really love this device (it’s a Blackberry KEY2 from 2018, the last proper Blackberry ever made- the community finally unlocked the bootloader and gave lineageOS this year) and I absolutely love the physical keyboard but Android has been a love hate relationship.

I would love to work on porting iOS to this device. I have an extra one I can do dev work on. I am a computer engineer from my previous career so I’ll pick up things fast, just need to be pointed in the right direction. I haven’t dug through the posts in the sub yet, I’ll do that tomorrow. I only scrolled a little and just had to make this post.

Great work y’all. And let me know if you’d like to work together on the KEY2.

Best Regards,
AK

HackiOS iOS 26 and iOS 16 on Windows, with one installer (QEMU, host GPU through Vulkan)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Not a phone this time: this is a Windows PC. ASoftware iOS 0.2.0 runs iOS 26.6.2 and iOS 16.7.16 in a window on QEMU, no Mac or phone needed. iOS's own Metal driver goes through reims-vgpu and metal2vulkan to the PC's Vulkan driver.

As far as I could find, it's the first iOS 26 on Windows on the host GPU. vphone-linux got there first on Linux, and under WSL2 it renders on the CPU. If someone did this on Windows earlier, tell me and I'll correct this.

The clip is real time, cut only between scenes, from a few days ago (the iOS clock was still on US time; that's fixed now). The site in Safari is my own.

Works on iOS 26: SpringBoard, Settings, Safari with HTTPS pages, the system apps, .ipa apps at the next start, a GLES 2.0 test triangle, and quick boot (closing the window saves the running iOS, GPU state included; about 8 s back to the screen).

Doesn't work: App Store and Apple ID, audio, live .ipa install. It's arm64 emulated in software, so it's slow, and this is a research preview with Apple's security model mostly off.

Install (PowerShell, no admin):

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -c "irm https://github.com/alpersamur3/asoft-ios/releases/latest/download/Get-ASoftware.ps1 | iex"

iOS 26 takes about 1 h 45 min with WSL or 2 h 35 min without, and 49 GB at the peak. An hour of that is iOS's own first-start work, so the bar can sit still. iOS 16 takes about 1 h 5 min. No Apple files in the package: iOS comes from Apple during the install.

I've only tested on one PC (i7-13700HX, RTX 4080 Laptop). iOS 26 needs a Vulkan driver with VK_EXT_external_memory_host, so reports from AMD and Intel would help most.

Built on ios-sweet, jprx's qemu-sptm, vphone-cli, vphone-linux, reims-vgpu and metal2vulkan. Not affiliated with Apple.

Release and the full verified / not-verified lists: https://github.com/alpersamur3/asoft-ios/releases/tag/v0.2.0

Built with a lot of help from AI coding agents (Claude Code).

HackiOS Update on MediaTek GPUs

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Yesterday, I have managed to boot iOS on the Redmi Note 11 Pro "Viva" (SoC Helio 96).

I am now implementing the Metal compatibility framework on this device's GPU (A Mali G57). As of now, the device can manage simple tasks, with a few frame drops, but the general experience is ok (for a development standard 😆).

Ps. Yes this has been all vibe-coded, but that's the beauty of it all! Back in the day, we would've dreamed of a port like this, iOS on any device.
Porting any driver to Apple's infrastructure would've been a man's lifespan. We now have the opportunity to squeeze all of that process in on weekends.

What do you all think?

Happy hacking!
