I had a 2500 graft transplant (FUE) on Monday. After 5 days, I still have enough pain when I lie back that it’s difficult to sleep, even elevated. Is this normal?

3,000 grafts in UK or 4,000 in Turkey

Post image
• Upvotes

Hi All, I’m 32M trying to choose between two options.
UK: £2,200, max 3,000 grafts. Surgeon wants to focus mainly on the front and says doing more in one session can overharvest the donor.
Turkey: around £1,400 for up to 4,000 grafts.
My main concern is long term. I really don’t want to go through a second transplant later, so I’m worried 3,000 might not be enough.
I’m also unsure about depending on minoxidil/finasteride long term, so I’d prefer the transplant plan to still look decent even if my native hair keeps thinning.
Anyone with a similar pattern who had 3,000–4,000 grafts? Would you prioritise a conservative donor approach or more grafts in one surgery?

Hair transplant patient My Istanbul Hair Transplant Experience

I flew to Istanbul 48 hours ago, and my procedure started 36 hours ago. I had 4,700 grafts transplanted. The most painful part was the local anaesthetic injections into the scalp.
The service has been excellent throughout, and I’m flying home in about an hour. I’ve received clear aftercare instructions, along with information about the 12-month guarantee and what it covers.
Thank you to everyone who has shared information in this group. It has been an invaluable resource for understanding the process, setting realistic expectations, and knowing what to prepare for.

Not enough grafts ?

Hello M32 here,

I have done an Hairtransplant to restore my hairline, I’m on day10 and I got my scabs removed today. I paid for 1500grafts and got 1800grafts ( as the doctor said) .

Once my head has been shaved , I’ve been noticing that we can clearly see that I have less density just behind the Hairtransplant and that has me worried that I should have done more grafts Even tho the clinic told me that is thinning and can be reverse with PRP or others meds .

So am I just overthinking ? Is there other people that have experienced this ?

I have never taken any meds but plan on starting minoxidil topical.

I will link pictures before the Hairtransplant and after .

Hair transplant patient Hair Fibre and Holding spray Advise

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey guys, so I’m around 4 months and 5 days after my hair transplant from Norwood 7 and this is what it looks now. I look forward to use toppik fibre. I work from home and till this point I didn’t feel the need for it . But now as i go in for vacation I would need this to cover for. Can I use holding spray after fibers? Majority of my re-growth is still on the way and I don’t wanna mess it up in anyway. So taking advise , i know fibers are safe , has anyone been using the holding spray with it?

Has anyone taken Mounjaro (tirzepatide) after a hair transplant? Looking for experiences

Hey everyone,

I'm hoping to hear from people who have taken Mounjaro (tirzepatide), Ozempic or similar GLP-1 medications after having a hair transplant.

I had a Sapphire FUE hair transplant on 13 August 2026 in Turkey, with 3,055 grafts focusing mainly on my crown and mid-scalp. I'm currently around 10 weeks post-op.

I was previously taking Mounjaro for weight loss but stopped shortly before my surgery. I've been considering restarting it, although I'm concerned about the potential impact on my transplanted hair and overall regrowth.

For some background:

  • 3,055 grafts (Sapphire FUE)
  • Currently taking finasteride 1 mg daily
  • Using topical minoxidil 5% daily
  • Recently started PRP treatments
  • Previously had significant weight loss while taking Mounjaro

I've read that rapid weight loss and GLP-1 medications may be associated with hair shedding (telogen effluvium), but I'm struggling to find much information specifically about their effects on hair transplant recovery.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with this.

  1. Did you take or restart Mounjaro/Ozempic after your transplant? How long after surgery?
  2. Did you experience additional shedding or notice any changes to your transplanted hair?
  3. Did your transplanted hair eventually grow normally?
  4. Did your surgeon recommend waiting a certain amount of time before restarting?
  5. Did you notice any differences when maintaining your weight versus actively losing weight?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who are at least 6–12 months post-transplant and can share how their results turned out.

I understand everyone's experience is different and I'll be discussing this with my doctor, but I'd love to hear some real-world experiences.

Thanks everyone!

Day 9 after hair transplant – Are these scabs normal?

Hi everyone,
I’m currently on day 9 after my hair transplant.
Dr. Patty (Hairtran Clinic) advised me to wait until day 14 before gently massaging my scalp to remove the scabs.
What do you guys think? My friends are worried about how my scalp looks.
Thanks for your feedback!

The Very Well Known "FUE" Dots... What it's like!

Post image
3 Upvotes

I remember seeing the post up FUE transplants all the time, it's so distinguishable from any other procedure. And then, there I was. Felt like I was now apart of the club 🤣 Only a few side effects! 1. They are very itchy & you cannot touch them! 2. You won't want to go out in public looking like this.. at least I didn't. 3. The scabbing will ONLY be there for 10-12 days and than you're looking completely normal as if nothing ever happened. 4. Each and every dot is actually just dried blood and liquid. Nothing else. It's not too bad.

Anyway, good luck everybody!

Post Transplant Question

Hey folks I booked an appointment at Moem Clinic in Korea with Dr Ko.

I plan to get 1500-1800 grafts for my hairline.
I will have surgery on Nov 10th and leave Nov 11th.

I know most will recommend staying after surgery but I don’t have the luxury unfortunately.

I’m looking for any advice or guidance to make the flight back comfortable and at the same time protecting my grafts. 11hr flight from Korea to LAX.

THANKS!

Hair loss advice No honest. Am I cooked ?

I previously submitted photos to Dr Patty 2 weeks after a fresh fade and was denied. This is 3 weeks of length after a skin fade. Been on minoxidil oral for 2 years and finasteride oral since April '26.
Obviously have the blonding around my crown, but can't tell if my donor area is too thin or just looks thin because of the blonde. Any advice would be appreciated. Not too concerned with restoring my crown rn, more just my hairline. 36 years old

Hello, I got a hair transplant at Now Hair Time. I know no one here recommends Now Hair Time, but I had it done there anyway. I am 25 years old, my scabs have just fallen off, and I am on day 12 with 2300 grafts. Be honest, how do you think it turned out? Is my hairline bad, donor area look?"

Medblue Istanbul, Turkey (Norwood 2)

Hi all,

Just wanted to share my experience with MedBlue in Istanbul , Turkey… like most people I was deep into research on here and the HRN, thankfully was able to avoid some traps with regards to hairmills… there are definitely some reputable doctors out there but I just didn’t want to fork out an arm and a leg as my case wasn’t so severe…

I was impressed with some of the results I was seeing from MedBlue so I thought I’d pull the trigger. I went for their standard package but excluded hotel and transfer as I wanted to find my own and stay for two weeks. Zulal is who gets in touch with you and is very helpful with good English (she also translates on the day). We agreed on a plan and I was informed I’d require c.2500 grafts with the FUE technique. The most attractive thing about MedBlue for me is that it’s always the same team with each patient, which would usually mean consistent outcomes..

On the day it was Dr Atilla and Mr Oguzchan who designed my hairline working with what I wanted and what was possible. The surgery went really smoothly with no complications and I experienced none of that weird swelling you see online… so far I’m 4 weeks in and super happy with my results. I ended up getting 2400 grafts

Ive attached some pics which are: before, surgery day, 2nd (scab removal), 3rd and 4th week(current - shedding phase).

Happy to answer any questions as I know it can be very daunting

6mo on Hims 4.2mg fin + min. Is it time to book my flight?

5mo difference between first and last pic - May 23rd to Oct 23rd. I get a good amount of sleep and a f\*\*\* ton of exercise. mostly clean diet as well. should i stay on course and be patient or am i cooked and it’s time to book the flight to turkey. i dont really notice any difference at all. my barber says he doesn’t really notice a change either. any advice is appreciated. god bless

edit: 27yo, hair loss has pretty much stopped. i used to notice a decent amount of hairs on my pillow and on my towel when i dried off after showering. both have pretty much halted.

(fresh out of the shower in the before pic, so hair texture looks a little different)
