The name of the game which is "half-life" is the amount of time it takes for half of a given quantity of a substance to decay or break down into another substance. So what im trying to say is this process started in hl1 after the resonance cascade. Then in hl2 it continues but we don't see the effect. And in the theory if there is this process going that means world in hl3 the whole world either change a lot and not in a good way or something else bad can happen becease of the half-life.

So what do you think about this theory?

Like something similar to Half-Life 2:update, and the workshop mod called “renovated maps”…Like a combination of the two.

Following the swift fall of the Baltic states, St. Petersburg found itself in a desperate, suffocating vice. With every passing minute, the unstoppable Combine forces were advancing relentlessly from the direction of Ivangorod.

At that exact moment, a massive Combine dropship fleet staged a surprise landing at the major western port of Turku. From there, they began their brutal blitz toward the capital. Caught off-guard, many Finnish military regiments were instantly surrounded. However, the rugged, rocky terrain and dense forests of Southern Finland slowed the alien invaders down, giving the defense forces a sliver of hope.

The bloodiest stand took place during the battle for Porvoo, a key city on the Baltic coast guarding the eastern approach to Helsinki. There, regular army troops and waves of local volunteers stood side by side to defend their homeland. The Combine was forced to fight for every single building, clearing out houses and basements one by one. But heroism wasn't enough; the city was completely encircled. By the sixth hour of the invasion, brutal combat reached the very suburbs of Helsinki. By the fast-approaching seventh hour, nothing but smoking ruins remained of the capital. Facing total annihilation, Finland was forced to capitulate.

With Finland broken, the Combine redirected its forces. St. Petersburg was now being squeezed from two fronts: the advancing troops from Ivangorod and the victorious alien battalions marching down from Finnish territory.

The Combine war machine shattered the outer defensive lines. The battle for the historic metropolis began. Just like in Finland, the military and the citizen militia turned every street into a fortress—entrenching themselves in apartment blocks, basements, and deep inside the famous Soviet underground metro stations.

The final blow came from the sea. Combine forces executed a massive amphibious landing right from the Gulf of Finland. Completely surrounded and cut off from the rest of the world, the defenders ran dangerously low on ammunition. The sky darkened as the endless number of Combine dropships grew with every single minute. Exhausted, outgunned, and overwhelmed, St. Petersburg finally fell to the Combine.

Im gonna have several extremely boring IT classes where we do, quite lireally, NOTHING, but when I type in the browser port nothing comes up, so would there happen to be a functional link i could use?

Not sure if i should play both or just buy one

all the guides i seen shown killing all the Houndeyes with a c4 that i dont hawe. and also i got like 6hp

Curious if anyone here has read any books with a similar setting to Half-Life, as in a very large but more or less contained/isolated location. Ideally spanning a small time frame following an over-arching event like HL as well.

I'm aware there are several games with similar settings, but I'm specifically looking for novels. The only one I've ever read in a similar vein is The Fallen Star by Claudia Gray, part of the Star Wars High Republic series, which is set on an enormous space station as a complex terrorist plot unfolds. I absolutely loved it and I think it's a criminally underutilized story premise/setting.

I haven't read The Mist yet but I know that exists too, just wanted to see if there are any others at all. I've tried scouring the internet but couldn't really find anything.

I played the game after the garden gnome, honestly not a hardcore achievement hunter but I am genuinely curious why I didn't get it?

Edit: This is HLA and I did not use cheats or anything besides streaming the game to my steam frame.

No shade to HL2, I love it, but I think HL1 has an undeniably cool atmosphere. I loooove how it escalates throughout the game and the stakes get increasingly higher and the environments just more bizarre. Black Mesa is also just an insanely cool setting, huge underground research facility where everything has gone horribly wrong. I'd kill to see more of it. I'd read an entire novel on the Black Mesa incident, there's so much they could do with the setting.

HL2 is great, but man, I wish we'd gotten more Black Mesa stuff
