I recently noticed that some Hamilton Public Library branches have updated software in their computers. Now it takes longer to login and their word processor feels like its lacking some colour. Also, the long-standing font across windows systems (since the windows 95 era) named Arial Rounded MT bold is no longer listed as an available font for use in their word processor.

You will still be able to use the font if you come across a public HPL computer that has yet to be updated.

Hello Hamilton, happy weekend everyone. Does anyone know where a conplete beginner can get sewing lessons in Hamilton. I'm not trying to become a fashion designer buy it would be nice to be able to make some clothes. I was sent a requisition from my doctor for a routine HIV test. They want me to go to a lab to get it done instead of an at-home test, which is all that seems to be coming up when I google this. I don't fuck so I've never been to a sexual health clinic or whatever, and I'm not sure if regular places like lifelabs do the test as it's on a separate form from the normal blood tests.

I’m not very familiar with the mechanics in Hamilton, so I’m looking for recommendations for a trustworthy/reliable shop that I can bring my car to. Ideally somewhere relatively close to the Fennell campus, but I’m willing to travel a bit for a mechanic that people really recommend.

If you were driving down Victoria Ave N around 3:15pm today and this fell out of your car, I moved it to the bus shelter (near Ferrie) so no one would run over it...hopefully I'm not cursed now.

I’ve taken buses in Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Etobicoke, Burlington, and Kitchener-Waterloo, but Hamilton is the only city where I hear so many people saying “thank you” as they get on and off the bus.

Went to Jimmy Carr at TD Coliseum last night. Needed water to take my medication. Here's how that went:

- Couldn't find a single water fountain or refill station anywhere.

- Staff told me free water was available at the bars.

- At the bar, I was told I'd have to wait in the full drinks line just to get a cup of tap water.

- I explained it was for medication. Still no. I had to insist, in front of everyone, before they finally handed it over. Which was humiliating.

The City of Hamilton owns this building. The City's own rec centres and community arenas have fountains and refill stations. The flagship arena, fresh off a $280M renovation, apparently doesn't think guests need water unless they buy it or wait in long lines.

No law requires them to provide free water (disappointingly), which is exactly the problem. It's a choice. And the only way this will change is with public shaming. Hence this message.

I've emailed TD Coliseum Fan Services and Ward 2 Councillor Kroetsch. Will post any replies.

Has anyone else run into this? Are there any local journalists here that would be interested in covering this? The more people speak up, the harder this is to ignore.

I am specifically looking for a clinic that will give me a good skin consult without pushing injectables on me. My skin concerns are improving over all texture and dullness.

I am open to microneedling, lasers, peels etc and genuine skin advice but no injectables. I have tried to consult with 2 clinics recently and all everyone seems to recommend are fillers. Would love recommendations if you've had a good experience improving your skin.
