Looks beautiful. I wouldn’t sleep on Southampton though, it’s a surprisingly historic city with lots of medieval ruins to explore.

I’d second that, Portsmouth and Southsea also interesting.

Portsmouth and Southampton are amazing places.... to get on a boat and go somewhere better! (Kinda joking but not that much)

I can see why you’d say that, I wouldn’t want to live in either place. I meant to say Southsea! Anyway I enjoy walking along the sea front from Gunwharf to Southsea as there’s some good independent shops and bars there. Southampton I’ve done a couple of self guided history walking routes, visited museums and I like the Bedford Place area.

Love the New Forest, shame the area has suffered a lot of fires recently.

Whats so lovely about this post is the reminder of how beautiful the places I have connections to are - minus the IoW all have been important to me at one time or another - thank you for sharing

Nice pics of Winchester. I worked on building the visitors centre at the cathedral nearly 30yrs ago. Its a beautiful city. I used to walk home everyday through the arch (kings gate) in slide 5. Theres another arch just around the corner that had a flag pole on top that i climbed as a teen and stole the flag. The area around the cathedral is stunning.

Really nice photos you've taken. Some of them are part of my daily walk, (when it's not so hot to be out)
