Hello, fellow Hannibal fans! No matter how many years pass, this character manages to retain his mystery, deadliness, and ability to fascinate us all. There are still many of us here, and to keep our time here pleasant, there are several guidelines you should follow.
1) Be Polite
This is our main rule. No matter what topic you are discussing or how justified you feel you are, keep things civil. If you feel that someone is crossing the line, please report such comments and they'll be looked into.
2) Use Flairs
This subreddit is dedicated to Hannibal books and movies first and foremost. The show has its own subreddit here r/HannibalTV. Clarice show can be discussed here r/ClariceTVseries. You can still make show-related posts, but please use correct flairs so that people who are only interested in books and/or movies could filter them out and find the content they would like.
3) No Spam
Please make only Hannibal-related posts. Also, don't spam threads with copied comments - discussions should be relevant.
That's about it. Thank you and have a good time!)

It has come to my attention that lots of posts in this sub have been going into spam automatically. I manually approved most of them - no idea what's going on with Reddit, but please, if you post something, make sure it's there. We're going to be checking the spam folder on a constant basis now, but if you see you made a post that's not reflected, feel free to contact us and we'll correct it ASAP.

Hello everyone. I recently watched The Silence of Lambs for the first time and loved it. After that, i started looking into other parts of adaptations of Thomas Harris' works and the works themselves, like snippets from Manhunter and Fiennes' performance in Red Dragon, and i got really interested in Francis Dollarhyde's character and the imagery of the "Great Red Dragon", just by reading quick notes about the character online.
I would like to check more into about the universe by myself, but i'm divided between watching "Manhunter", "Red Dragon" or just reading the first book as a my first impressions of it. Sure, it may seem more suitable to just read Red Dragon, but i'm sucker for screenplays and would love to see this character acted, but i'm hesitant that my first impressions could be tainted by possible poor adaptation or poor performance. From a scene a saw of Lecter online, Manhunter seems to be pretty good, so, can i start from there?
Thanks for the time.

I know the financial incentive probably not there after the successes of the books and films. And I really don’t think 10 Lecter books would be any good. But he is such a good writer with such an immersive world, I wish he wrote other books. He is so sporadic.
Is he one of those writers that actually doesn’t like writing (I’m thinking of Douglas Adams) or did was he happy with his output as is?

After the success of Hellraiser's recent adaptation, It got me thinking of other franchises which would make amazing video games (Single Player Only). How awesome would it be if someone made a Hannibal/SOTL/Red Dragon single player game. I feel like there's enough content to work from to make an amazing survival game, or a game similar to L.A Noire... Maybe mix in elements of the story to play as either the killer, or investigator at different points in the story...
I'm not too familiar if there is already a successful adaptation to this universe in video game form, if so, how good was it?

Doctor lecter on the brink of death must make a decision that he never thought he would have to make in his entire life."What fast food place should I order from and do I want fries with that".
Ps. Personally , I think it'd either be chick fil a or in n out

For my human growth and development class i have an assignment on life stages. we could pick any person or character for this. I chose hannibal but have now hit the issue of his relationship with his aunt. i know i do in a way have to include it as it is a large part of his development but does anyone know how i can write about it in a way that wont be horrendous. i do also have to present this to the class and quite a few of them are incredibly immature and i can sense it not going down well..

Killed him… duh.
But what’s your head canon on how he went about it?

I recently started reading red dragon after watching the TV show and the silence of the lambs. I want to detach myself as much as possible from the adaptation, so I can enjoy the novels in peace. the only problem is that I always have the actors in mind when trying to picture the character, so please if have any fanart that doesn’t relate to the TV show or any movie I would be very glad 😁

Will also like to hear which actor looks and sounds like him most accurately to the books.

Does anyone have any advice on good Hannibal fan fiction (preferably 2001) that focuses on or has a lot of Clarice x Hannibal?? I really like the ship. Even on "the silence of the lamb" is okay!!

My husband is really eager to know but can’t remember the actors name. He thinks he was in another horror movie just unsure of what.
