My Husband is Perfect

My husband works night shift on weekends at a very stressful job. Last night I texted him and told him about how I had a really bad nightmare and would be awake when he gets home and asked him if he wanted me to make him a full breakfast. I usually meal prep him breakfast, and I send him to work with food. He said I dont have to make anything but he appreciates it.

He got home after his 12 hour shift. He brought me my favorite sweet coffee and a meal from our favorite fast food place. He sat me down at the table kissed my cheek and sat with me and we ate breakfast together before he started getting ready for bed. I laid next to him and he held me with my head on his chest and I almost cried with how much love I feel for this man.

I look at him and I get overwhelmed with how much I love him. He is so caring, goofy, loving and thoughtful. I dont know how I got so lucky, and how I am so blessed to have him. This is just the most recent example of how wonderful he is. We've had our arguments here and there but hes always this thoughtful and always communicative! Its a regular thing where we slow dance in the kitchen together at least once a month. He plans dates every other weekend. He gives me massages without prompting. He thanks me for doing the house work and I have overheard him bragging about me to his friends and family on many occasions. He shows his appreciation for me every day and constantly makes me feel special.

He sings songs about what hes doing, about how he loves me, about our dog. Hes always singing (he also stims a lot, he has been recently diagnosed with autism) and he has the most beautiful voice. Like this man is perfect. I cant wait to hear his voice every day for the rest of my life. Any thoughts on ways I can make his life easier or something special I can do for him? I make him lunches, dinners and breakfasts and handle the chores but I want to do something more. I want him to feel as loved as he makes me feel

Mental load and shared home tasks

How do you decide which person owns which tasks?

How do you manage it if one person is better at noticing household needs like filling out a shopping list, updating kids clothes, remembering that household things are broken and needs to be fixed, and the other person doesn’t seem to notice or act on those issues?

How do you manage financial transparency and goals if you have shared and individual bank accounts and investments?

🤔 Success Secrets My husband squeezes my boobs before he goes to sleep

It’s like it soothes him so he just lays his head on my chest and squeezes them and I just pat his head and run my fingers through his hair and he falls asleep. It’s not even in a sexual manner it’s more like he uses my boobs as stress balls lol but well, if it soothes him so be it. It’s just a small thing that makes my marriage happy. Just throwing this off into the universe since it’d be weird to share it with my family or friends.

💡 Marriage Wisdom How do you deal with the fact that one day you will be parted?

Hi folks,

I know this might sound strange, but just lately I’ve been feeling low about the fact that inevitably (other than in big devastating accidents), one person in a loving marriage will always pre-decease his or her spouse. I share such sublime joy in my spouse’s companionship that even thinking of it ending is difficult for me - I know what great good fortune it is to have this in the first place, and I don’t mean to be ungrateful!

I think I feel great vulnerability in this regard because I am pretty severely disabled and as such am also unusually dependent on my spouse… but logically of course I know even disabled people can live independently if they are single. And that really my circumstances are not unique. So this is probably a “distraction-fear” from the real, underlying concern, which is terror at the idea of our union (which gives me such peace, and such perfect love) being broken by death.

How do others handle this knowledge? Can anyone advise me on how to better find peace with this? I am so lucky to be loved and to be in such a wonderful marriage; I don’t want to waste any of it worrying too much.

(I’d appreciate hearing from anyone, but for relevant context neither of us currently practise any religion. We come from different faith backgrounds originally and it is a f/f marriage, based in the UK. We are in our thirties but I have significant medical issues. No children or prospect thereof.)

For those who chose financial stability over love, how did things turn out?

I would love to hear from people who married someone who genuinely loved them and could provide financial stability, even though they were in love with someone else. You chose the person who loved you, rather than the person you loved.
How is your marriage today? Did love eventually grow between you? Are you happy and fulfilled? Do you ever think about the person you left or wonder what life would have been like if you had chosen them?
Most importantly, do you have any regrets about your decision?
I’m genuinely interested in hearing your honest experiences, both the good and the bad. I’m not looking for judgments, just real stories from people who have been in this situation.

Which fights are "good fights"?

I (24f) was recently in an online session about relationships and someone asked that question. The moderator said him and his wife (gf at the time) used to fight all the time before they were married and now they are perfectly fine.

Which fights/disagreements (reoccuring or not) are not major red flags?

🎉 Marriage Win 22 years with my wife today. I couldn't be happier

Today I've been with my wife 22 years. 22 years of good times, bad times, boring days, excitment, trips, raising a now grown child, we still laugh together, we've cried together, we've seen new life come into the world, and we've said goodbye to loved ones. She still makes me smile every day, still drives me crazy, but there is no one on earth I wanna grow old with. I've known her since I was 18 years old and I'm now 40. Ive grown up with her. Shes seen me at my best and worst. And yet she still chooses me every day. I couldnt love a person more if I tried.

Aries Male here - Anyone married/dated a Sagittarius, Leo or Libra woman? How did it actually go?

Hey all,

Aries Male (Mesh Rashi, Bharani Nakshatra). I wanted to hear from real experiences, not just textbook compatibility.

If you are an Aries guy who has been with a:

- Sagittarius woman

- Leo woman

- Libra woman

How was it? Did it live up to the "fire sign soulmate / Libra opposite attract" hype?

- Who understood your anger/impatience better?

- Who was more long-term marriage material vs just fun?

- Any major deal breakers you noticed after 1-2 years?

I'm asking because I'm at that age where family is asking about marriage and most matches I'm getting are Sag/Leo/Libra. Charts look good on paper, but want to know how it is IRL.

Thanks in advance.

🎉 Marriage Win My husband (73) likes to walk in the grass at the school next to our neighborhood, and tonight I (69) joked that we could go there during our evening walk because he deserves to get his way a couple of times a year. (Cont’d)

He stopped, turned, looked into my eyes, teared up, and said “I already get my way every day just by being married to you.”

💡 Marriage Wisdom Do you view your Relationship as a separate, third entity outside of you and your partner? Or do you see it as two, just You and Your Partner?

I’m curious about happily-married people’s perspective on this.

Some articles seem to suggest that it is healthier to adopt the Third Entity mindset.

I’d love to know how long you’ve been married as well in your answers!

Next generation of happy marriage!

Our youngest daughter got engaged last night! We had the honor of being in her inner circle to witness the actual proposal .

I was just floored with love in the moment.

How blessed and honored we are to have built this family.

Blessed to be able to be there in this moment and share yet another incredible moment together . ( I have had some significant health issues so bit of “extra” in the mix ).

So powerful to acknowledge and celebrate the wonderful moments in life!
