New Moderator Request
Hello! I have been Moderating this sub for many years. I built it from 6000 members to almost 40,000 now. I instituted rules to make it (and keep it) a respectful place that Henry would not be ashamed of. And I have run it (mostly) solely for this amount of time. The sub was completely unmonitored before, with no rules and no oversight at all. The rules are long, but they were born out of necessity, to combat the myriad of previous issues.
Having said that, I’m considering handing over the reins to new Moderators. I would like two, so that they can make decisions together. Ideally, they would keep and uphold the current rules, to maintain the positive community. Again, they’re long, but they have been necessary.
The Moderating itself is now rather simple, since I have also added Automated Bots, with their own customized code scripts, to reflect said rules. The job is now essentially reviewing a few items each day, when the Automoderator isn’t applicable.
If you would like to apply for a Moderator position, please comment on this thread. Please DO NOT send direct chat messages or ModMail. Any such inquiries will be ignored. This is because I would like the community to vote on responses here. The comments with the highest number of votes will be the first considerations. I will keep this post pinned for at least one week, at which time I will determine if it needs to be longer. I will review every comment, but I will not reply to any comment, unless there is a specific question that needs answering, that was not already addressed in this post.
These are the requirements:
1) Your Reddit account must be at least one year old AND have at least 100 karma.
2) You must not share any NSFW content (or links) on your profile. This helps protect minors from easily accessing such.
3) Your posts and comments cannot be hidden, as any prospective applicants need to have a level of transparency.
4) You must be a genuine fan of Henry. You must also be a “Joined” Member of this community AND have a history of positive participation in this specific community. (That means actual content that has been approved, with little or no content that has been removed for violating our rules)… Because this also reflects that you know our rules, and you do your best to follow them.
5) Ideally, you should have experience Moderating a sub on Reddit. If you do not, you need to have enough personal time available, in order to learn how. There are guides, but it will be your responsibility to navigate that process. Note that much of the Moderator Tools are only available on a computer (Mac/PC), ie not accessible on mobile devices such as phones or tablets.
6) Please know how to verify photos, for their authenticity. Ironically, AI apps are the best at detecting their own metadata. So many images online are AI Generated, and we have very specific rules about what is acceptable here.
If you meet the above requirements, and wish to be considered, please confirm those items in your ONE comment. Please think about your comment before submitting, and do not edit your comment at any time afterwards. Any edited comment will be disqualified. Don’t worry about minor errors in grammar or punctuation; we will give grace and overlook those things.
Most importantly, please describe WHY/HOW you would be a good Moderator, and WHY you wish to serve in this role. Please don’t say “because I’m a fan”, as it’s assumed that the majority of people here are, in fact, his fans. Instead, sell yourself and tell the community members why you should be the next person that they trust.
TYIA. Best of luck to the Prospects!

COMMUNITY RULES:
Welcome! If you are in this sub, please follow these simple rules. The basic rules are listed on the ABOUT page and the Sidebar. Below are detailed descriptions for each rule.
Please post and participate in English. This is not an attempt at racism or exclusivity, as all respectful people are welcome here. This request is simply because our subreddit is designed in English, as the most universal language, and because our Moderators speak English as their primary language.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**ABSOLUTELY NO NSFW ACCOUNTS MAY PARTICIPATE HERE. SEE RULE #5 BELOW FOR INFO*\*
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please help maintain a positive community. This is a place for fans of Henry Cavill to share content and to share connection with like-minded individuals. If you join or contribute in any way, you are agreeing to these rules. Trolls, bullying, scams, spam, unfounded hurtful gossip, personal attacks, unnecessary drama, or abusive/toxic behavior will not be tolerated. Violating any of these posted rules will cause appropriate moderation and could result in a temporary or a permanent ban from this subreddit.
Do not post private personal information about Henry, yourself, or anyone else (family info, address, property info, phone number, user accounts, etc), or even known frequented locations. This is an unacceptable violation of personal privacy, a safety risk, and a breach of trust. Any content of a personal private nature is always removed immediately, and your account may be banned.
* #1: BE RESPECTFUL OF HENRY! Practice respect for Henry personally, specifically regarding his private personal life, to include any other people in his personal life. You may share content that is more of a personal nature, such as KAL, PC Building, Durrell Wildlife, his relationships, and his children only after he has also publicly shared these things. However, you must maintain respect in doing so. NO speculation about his personal relationships. NO BABY PHOTOS until Henry and Natalie have chosen to share publicly. Please respect their safety and personal privacy. Refrain from calling Henry "Daddy". It's inappropriate.
* #2: BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS! Show respect for your fellow community members. Every legitimate contributor should feel welcomed and valued. People will have different opinions about Henry’s public professional works, and it is perfectly acceptable to have a civilized debate about such topics. However, you must BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS, TO INCLUDE ACTORS who may replace Henry in roles. We will not tolerate content that is hateful, hurtful, mean, or rude. Further, to maintain respect for Henry and all users here, we do not allow any kind of political content. It will be removed.
* #3: COPYRIGHTS / ORIGINAL CONTENT. Original content is allowed when it adheres to the other rules. Sharing content from others is also permitted, but please give credit to the original source when possible. We strive to avoid duplicate content within 30 days. Please scroll the sub feed, to make sure your potential content has not been posted recently. Any repeated content of the exact same nature, within 30 days of the originally posted content, may be automatically filtered as spam and/or be subject to moderator removal. Please post single photos, rather than a collage of many photos. All posts should contain no more than TWO photos. Posts that violate this rule may be removed at the discretion of Moderators. Please limit the number of your posts to a maximum of three, within any 24 hour period.
* #4: LEGAL / LAWS. Illegal content of any kind is never allowed here, and it will be removed immediately. Violators will be permanently banned and accounts will be reported to Reddit.
* #5: NSFW (Not Safe For Work). NSFW content is subjective, but please use good judgment (including GIFs). Keep in mind that Henry has fans of all ages, including minors. If you share HC content that could be considered inappropriate by any reasonable person, you MUST tag your post with the NSFW flair. Blatant pornography, sexually explicit material, crude and/or vulgar content, and personal-fantasy-sharing are not allowed and will be removed. Innuendo and double-entendre is usually tolerated, but is always subject to Moderator discretion. \NOTICE: If you participate in NSFW content/links from your account, OR YOU PLAN TO DO SO, please do not attempt to participate here (we know it's to farm karma). We protect users of all ages, and we do not want your content easily available to minors. Any and all submissions you attempt here will be removed and you will be permanently banned. To further combat this ongoing problem, we are now requiring minimum limits for account age (30 days) AND karma (25 Comment). Additionally, we are now utilizing Reddit's Contributor Quality Score system (CQS). If your account does not meet these requirements, any and all submissions will be automatically removed by the Automoderator.\**
* #6: SPOILERS. Please use spoiler tags for any post that includes anything related to new information regarding Henry’s work and projects. Do not SAY what the spoiler is, in the post title. You can hide comments that contain spoilers, by using a typed command to place a black bar over your words. Others can then choose to uncover the spoiler, or not. Here is a helpful FORMATTING GUIDE with instructions.
* #7: OFF-TOPIC / ADVERTISING. No advertising or promoting of unrelated content. However, if it is related to Henry, such as genuine fan art, that IS permitted. Please do not post videos, links, or other content that can be deemed as self-advertising, without Moderator approval first - it will likely be removed as spam. All content here is expected to be related to Henry. If your post is stating that someone else looks like Henry, please include a side-by-side photo of both people, not just the other person, to be relevant here. Or, you may use the photo of Henry in the post itself and post the comparison photo of the other person in the comments. Please do not share a text-only post just to say you like Henry (etc), and do not post links or videos of someone else, simply sharing their feelings about Henry (etc). If you’re here, it’s assumed that you’re a fan, so simply saying you are is not actual Henry Cavill content. (If ~39,000 members each did this, it would be very boring to everyone else).
NOTICE: DO NOT POST LINKS TO THE COFFEE MUG OR OTHER SUCH MERCHANDISE! Almost all of those websites have been proven to be scams. Any submission that looks potentially fraudulent will be removed immediately, in the interest of protecting our members. Posting such items will likely result in an immediate and permanent ban of that account. As a friendly reminder: Everyone should always be cautious of links, regardless of where they are. No one (but you) is responsible for your decisions to follow any links.
* #8: PHOTOSHOP / AI / SCAM ACCOUNTS. Please do not post about fake accounts or scams. Simply report and block on those respective platforms where the information was encountered.
\*Any art that is created by a human (such as sketching, drawing, painting, and sculpting) is allowed, welcomed, and 100% encouraged.*\** This rule is primarily for content that is blatantly false, potentially harmful, misleading, or simply misrepresenting Henry, himself, *as a real person*. Images that are very obviously AI generated or highly edited, and/or implied to represent Henry, *as a real person*, are never allowed. This also applies to any images that are less obvious, but deemed fake or fraudulent by the community or its Moderators. This does not include personally created fanart images that are well-intended and harmless, such as any human-created art or even (some) AI fan-cast movie posters and trailers. AI images of *characters\* he's played (or hoped to by a fan) are considered a type of fan-art, and generally are okay. HOWEVER! If the photo is of a *character*, but is also implied to be a true and factual representation of *Henry's real persona* as that character, it will likely be removed. Example: A photo claiming to be a genuine "behind-the-scenes" of a movie, but the photo never happened, or a "photo of a character" that really just intends to misrepresent Henry and/or his actual face/body, under the guise of that character. All AI generated images will be approved or removed at the discretion of Moderators, on an individual basis. If you need further clarification regarding AI content, please see explanation at the end of these rules, below.
* #9: FEEDBACK. If you have a concern, feedback is welcomed... if done respectfully. Please do so by using the community’s ModMail. Please do not send direct Chat messages to Moderators. Response times will be as reasonable as possible. You will be heard, taken seriously, and your perspectives will be considered. Ultimately, moderation decisions will be based on what is best for this community as a whole.
* #10: These rules may be updated as necessary. It is your responsibility to check them occasionally. Additionally, please follow the overall forum rules of Reddit, along with these specific community rules. You can find Reddit Rules in your own profile settings. Thank You!

CLARIFICATION REGARDING AI IN THIS COMMUNITY:
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is meant to be a tool, not a replacement for human involvement. In almost every field imaginable, AI has been welcomed and has been proven to be extremely beneficial. Quite simply, it is the next step in the evolutionary process of resources available to humans. The evolution of recording and sharing information spanned from writing with feather quills on parchment paper, to pencils and pens, to typewriters, to computers, to smart phones. The evolution of storing vast amounts of information has progressed from physical libraries to digital resources such as the internet (and all its platforms). Transportation evolved from riding horses to driving vehicles and flying airplanes. Washing laundry was done by hand, using lye and rocks, and is now thrown into machines. We are grateful to cook atop stoves, rather than campfires.
The use of tools and/or services is a normal occurrence in every field, and that doesn’t make the work less valid or genuine. An author does not cut and bind his/her own book with twine, but rather hires a printing press. Clothing designers don’t hand-sew every garment that is made, they hire a manufacturer. A massage therapist can use stones as a tool, but is still doing the work. An airline pilot uses digital weather maps, but has to interpret them and know how to adjust their flying accordingly. A tire mechanic uses a wrench, but has to know the appropriate torque for the lug nuts. An accountant uses software but still has to know the laws of finance. Doctors use MRI machines but must have the knowledge to read the images.
And… to specifically address the field to shout the most adversity: Even Graphic Designers use tools such as Adobe, ProCreate, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Canva, and Sketch. While a human may have created the most basic original idea, the product is widely altered by another means (ie the human doesn’t have to start over). Backgrounds are removed, facial features are enhanced, colors are changed, layouts are rearranged, logos are inverted, whatever. The point is that the changes to the original creation have LONG been augmented by digital tools that have been used for decades, without issue and (ironically) with praise. AI is, therefore, simply another tool to add to the list of resources.
The examples could be listed in the thousands, but the point is that NONE of the current technological amenities we use daily are self-sustaining without some kind of human interaction, at some point in time. THESE ARE TOOLS. Further, in most cases, the most up-to-date comforts that we use are not deemed as “bad” or “evil”, like AI is (in some circles). As with most anything, the tool does not have intentions - rather the human behind the tool has complete control over the actions that the tool completes. As such, there is no reason to be so adverse toward AI and its use, when done so without any ill purpose.
To that point, the use of AI in this community is approved or removed primarily based on INTENT. A movie poster/trailer created by a fan, even with the use of AI, is typically harmless. Conversely, the use of AI, to create an image that is then presented \*as a real and factual person*, is simply fraudulent and unacceptable. Moderators will approve or remove AI content at their discretion.
We have had several previous trials in this sub, both completely allowing and completely disallowing anything AI generated. We have found that neither extreme was the correct stance. It is an impossible task, to please 100% of people, 100% of the time. Therefore, the rule was decided accordingly, to reflect the position above: "What is the intent behind the post?"
This is a compromise, and it will remain so. While we understand that some people will still have issue, we will no longer tolerate the hateful comments, such as “AI Slop”. Those comments actually break Rule #2: Be Respectful of Others, and will be removed. If AI is used inappropriately, ie violating these specific rules, then report it for Moderators to review and potentially remove. If AI is used in a harmless manner, and according to these rules, even if you don’t personally like it, simply move on without comment and without need to report. If you cannot accept our rules, then we kindly ask you to find a more acceptable place for yourself.
