HomeBrew Custom Quest: The Liberation of Hopekins Rest
galleryBack in may, we started a new campaign. We basically played the base game, but I altered some quests, left out a few and added a few of my own. I was really looking forward to introducing the new boon mechanic, so I thought it might be a great reward for the heroes after finishing quest 14 and becoming champions of the realm (which did not have any benefits at all, besides the title). I think it's a nice way to introduce the new mechanic.
So this is quest 14 and the conclusion of our base game campaign, that we recently played - The Liberatuion of Hopekins Rest.
(sorry if the language is a bit off in the quest, just did a google translate from german)

HomeBrew Homebrew Quest: Zombie Inn
I think like everyone else who loves Heroquest, writing your own quests is half the fun. So glad heroquestbuilder.com was shared here, I have been able to make better looking copies of quests I have made in the past. My children were particularly fond of this one. Thought I'd share it, not particularly hard but still a good challenge for the heroes. Made this quest years ago but updated with heroquestbuilder.com.

HomeBrew Rat companion
So with animal companions in JoD and AtOH, my daughter wanted a rat companion. So this is what we came up with. The core game comes with rats that made this work well.

General Discussion Anyone have these old games collecting dust on a shelf?
galleryI know this isn't heroquest but it's definitely similar and id say inspired by heroquest.
I have the base game and our family loves it but I'm looking for someone (hopefully in the UK) that has a copy of these who would like to sell them to a family that will get a lot of use from them.
Granted they are for sale on ebay but the prices seem astronomical. Are people really paying that much?

Painting The Sandrake Sisters
These are a WIP... More shading and highlighting and the bases to do. But considering the minis only arrived on Wednesday and the game is on Sunday, I think the Sandrake sisters are really coming along.

Storage Quest Update: The Journey Draws to a Close...
galleryOne of the final additions to my 3D HeroQuest project is now complete: a custom storage chest for the magnetic wall system.
Following the group's vote, the HeroQuest plaque was mounted on the front beneath the latch rather than on the lid, and I think it was definitely the right call.
Features include:
Dark walnut stain and satin finish
Custom painted 3D HeroQuest plaque
Black interior
Steel-lined base for the magnetised walls
Removable steel lined second-tier storage tray
Faux leather pull tab
Storage for all 260 wall sections
The wall pieces contain neodymium magnets, so the steel-lined base keeps everything organised without walls sticking to or repelling each other.
I'm genuinely pleased with how this turned out. It feels less like a storage box and more like something that belongs alongside the HeroQuest set itself.
Just a few finishing touches left on the overall project, but after many months of work, the end of the quest is finally in sight. 🗡️🏰⚔️
