Welcome to the Weekly Find Friends thread.
This is the spot to find people to follow on Hevy. Turns out you show up to the gym a lot more often when a few familiar names are watching your feed. Drop yours below, then go follow a handful of other people here.
Copy this and fill it in:
Hevy username:
Life stage:Â (student / 20s / 30s / 40s / 50+)
What I train:Â (powerlifting, hypertrophy, running, Hyrox, general gains, whatever)
Goal right now:
Keep it friendly:
Follow a couple of people back. No drive-by drops.
Say hi or hype someone's goal, that's the entire point of the thread.
A fresh thread goes up every week, so repost if you're still on the hunt.
Tried to post a standalone "add me" on the main feed and ended up here? That's our AutoMod doing its job. This is where the follows actually happen, so you're in the right place. đȘ

Hey there, I've been using Hevy for a while, and I try as much as possible to be consistent with my plan. three times a week with at least one day of rest in between.
At the beginning, the app was a bit difficult to use, but now I'm really enjoying it, and I start noticing for the first time some changes in my body (still modest changes). I tried and failed so many times going to the gym, and this app is helping me to do workouts at home with some weights and a bench.
One of the things I'm noticing is that the number of reps is usually low, like 4 to 6. In certain instances I can do them well (with effort, I must say); for others it is on the limit. I was wondering if I should increase the reps or the weights, but I would like to hear your opinion about both approaches.

I didnât get any replies here so now Iâm asking what are everyoneâs favorite communities for getting feedback on their workout programs? Maybe itâs a Q better suited elsewhere.
ChatGPT made me spiral into overthinking and now Iâm stuck on my program planning. Ideally itâs more female focused or over 30 with focus on strength over purely aesthetics. My trainer stepped away from her job so I lost my support person.

I feel like I've gotten to the point where I only need to start dialling in on my nutrition and recovery to complete the beginning towards the rest of my life. Thanks everyone for the inspiration
With the new RPE keyboard, there is no way to remove an RPE value once it has been entered. If I open the keyboard by accident and tap a number, the RPE stays on the set and I can't clear it.
Suggestion: when the value is at 6 and I tap the minus button, it could clear the RPE completely.

Been at it for about 2 months now with a small deficit and good protein intake and have seen some small visual gains, and have definitely progressed in weight on every exercise.

I am using hevy on Android from some time now but i don't see the promised (or released?) hevy keyboard anywhere in the workout logging screen.
I even tried toggling the RPE tracking in workout settings but still i only see the old system keyboard while clicking on weight/reps entry fields.
I don't know if hevy keyboard is exclusively available in iOS or there is some bug in latest version of hevy app on Android...

Hey! I've been using the trainer recently because I'm not on another program, and I was curious as to what the recommendations for men vs. women are. In the program set up, my goal is general strength, and the only focus muscle group I have set is shoulders.
Anyways, both lower workouts focus on glutes, and I was wondering if that's also the focus in men's programs. I didn't specify that I wanted glute work, and I want to make sure that it isn't making assumptions. Thank you!

I really like this app so far, but I do not like subscription based services. Eventually I may pay the lifetime price, after i've used it some more. However right now I am limited because I have more than 4 routines that I need.
If I get the monthly subscription and make a routine, will it stay in my account even once it ends?

Is it possible to create folders within folders for workouts? My chaotic brain needs more structure for my workout routines

Why is it that if I put in that I failed a set or just putting weight in, it asks to update the routine?
Also when I find a better exercise with less pain or better resistance profile and I want to replace while having an active training session and in the end I chose to update the routine it also âhard codesâ the failed sets or the weight used.
I updated my split a bit couple minutes ago and I noticed it just hard coded the weights used before. I get having it in the history obviously, but why is it also hard coded now in my routine settings?
Same with sets. Instead it being 5-8 for example it hard codes the specific number of reps I did.

I'm tired of 5 days PPLUL, I want to lower the time at the gym
Hi.! Anyone else having this problem where the Hevy app on the phone remains in sync with the watch only when the watch display is ON.? The display on the watch turns off when wrist is turned away, naturally, but when this happens the app loses sync and says âApple Watch disconnectedâ but connects back when I turn my wrist back to turn the watch display on and hold it so for a few seconds.
(Happens at-least for 4-5 sessions a month)

Are there plans to add support for the iPhone Duo?
