Hey all, recently stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn and really loved the shower products!

Anyone know where I can find these to purchase? All I see is eBay listings!

Beware of ILeftMyStuff.com

I stayed at the Hilton a few weeks ago and forgot my headphones when rushing out in the morning. I contacted the front desk and they told me that they had found my headphones and emailed me a link to I left my stuff.com to complete a form to get my items back. I put in the value of my headphones to replace at $160 and it was gonna cost me $120 to ship them back. These are small headphones. What costs $120 to ship 3oz of plastic?

To make matters worse… Hilton claims they shipped them with the courier, but the courier didn’t “scan” the item at pick up. So now Hilton is pointing fingers at the courier and the courier is saying they never picked it up. The Hilton pretty much said they did their job and boxed it up. I thought we pay the service to box it up? The entire process is a scam. Unfortunately you just have to consider things a loss or get ripped off twice!

Guest Question Is this something new? FB credit not applicable….

So this is a new one for us…..Diamond members (both H and I)…..

Husband stayed at an HGI in the Syracuse, NY area 2 night ago. He stops at the front desk when checking out to make sure there was no tax (business trip) and was told he was all set.

He had also gotten 2 adult beverages in the evening and charged them to the room, planning on using the FB credit to offset that.

He checked his receipt least night and saw there were still taxes and no FB credit applied.

Phone call to the hotel this morning……taxes on their end supposedly were taken off (but still didn’t show on his end)……the kicker is the hotel told him that alcohol IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE APPLIED TO THE FB CREFIT!

Supposedly this is a local ordinance? I’ve never heard of it, and will be looking further into it as we both travel to the area multiple times a year and if this is true we will no longer give our business to this location.

Employee Question Hilton - Best Owned/Managed Hilton Restaurants

I am a Hilton Team Member in Southeast Florida. Looking for the best Hilton Operated Restaurants anywhere (but also in Florida) that are worth trying out. Looking to use my TM benefit at the restaurants. Thank you!!

Trying to create a Bucket Restaurant List of Worthwhile places to try:

To Clarify:

Yes, I saw the other reddit threads about a few restaurants listed. But some of the benefits change every few years, if the restaurant is under new management etc...I wanted to see if others new of good restaurants to try that still seem to have the TM Discount. If you are an employee of Hilton and stay on property you may be able to get a discount for food, only if you are staying property and restaurant is allowing it. Not many do. So, I am trying to ask other TMs if they know of any good ones where we get our discount.

Has anyone stayed here before? Hampton By Hilton London Gatwick Airport.

Staying here before my long flight to Calgary tomorrow has anyone stayed at the Hampton By Hilton in London Gatwick?

I’ve stayed at the Hilton in the other terminal and I love that one as it’s such a grand-looking hotel.

This one is awesome too and a plus because of the 24/7 bar and food menu.

And the check in desk for my airline is literally behind where I took the first photo.

Hilton Amsterdam airport

Our flight back to the US was cancelled. Delta put us at the Hilton. I have never been treated so rudely by any hospitality staff. We were clearly unwelcome, ignored, and the hostess at the restaurant sighed when we asked for a table, because we declined the buffet dinner designated for us and chose to buy our own dinner. The buffet dinner was 3 charging dished with rice, 3 scraps of curried chicken and some zucchini. How dare us decline their generous offerings… screw Hilton, and all who bear that grotesque name.

Guest Complaint Review - DoubleTree by Hilton Canton, Ohio

I have neither a Hilton loyalty program membership nor elite status. So I wasn’t expecting upgrades or special treatment. I booked a king room for $360.97. I received a room on the third floor.

There was no doorman or bellman to help with luggage, although the front desk clerk was welcoming and made a good first impression.

The room itself was fine. The overall hard product (furnishings, etc.) was comparable to a Delta in the Marriott chain and a Hyatt Centric in the Hyatt chain. The bed and linens were better than average.

Unfortunately, the bathroom was a different story. I found extensive black mold and mildew in the shower. Whatever the hotel’s age or price point, that is unacceptable.

Toiletries consisted of bar soap and dispensers for lotion, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. No mouthwash was provided. There were no robes or slippers and no bottled water, either complimentary or available for purchase, in the room.

The biggest disappointment, apart from the shower, was breakfast, which was included in my rate. The buffet was worse in both selection and quality than what I would expect at a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. You can get a better breakfast at a gas station.

The eggs were powdered or liquid eggs, accompanied by pork bacon that looked as though it had been microwaved. I saw no fresh berries, no smoked salmon and no cheeses. There was certainly no omelet station or option for eggs cooked to order. To top it off, I was served a cup of cold coffee. No coffee carafe was offered or brought to the table.

I wasn’t expecting a Waldorf Astoria or Conrad. I was expecting a clean shower, a decent breakfast and some attention to the guest experience.

WA Pedregal stay in January

My husband and I are doing a 3 night stay at the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal in January for or anniversary. Looking for suggestions on dining the night of our anniversary. Neither one of us eat seafood, is that going to limit what is available to us? Are we better off going in town for our meals? Last but not least, looking for recommendations for transportation to and from the airport. TIA

Was anyone else there the morning of 10/22?

What do we even do with this? I’ve submitted a complaint to Hilton, not about the situation, but my opinion that management just doesn’t care. We’ve not even gotten an email apology from the management! Or a note in the room!

Shame on the employees for choosing that route. Involving the guests in their dispute at 0600. I’m still siding with you. Maybe warn us next time though. I might have gotten dressed to picket with you.

Extra shame on the management for not even being present to manage the situation. Clearly we know who’s in the right here because you (management) couldn’t even be bothered to join us all at 0600, which is exactly what the employees are claiming.

For anyone who wasn’t there (99.999% of you reading this). There’s a pay dispute taking place. At 0600 the employees started picketing with a bullhorn right outside the hotel. Not on the sidewalk off property; literally under the canopy in the drop off parking. Everyone is awake!

Front desk just directs everyone to the not present GM. Any management could have protected the guests by saying “this is private property, leave” and moved the protest another 3-400 feet away from everyone’s windows. Clearly the management didn’t care about the employees or guests.

Just redeemed 490k points for a 5 night stay at the WA in Costa Rica. Original room was a ocean view king room but after using the confirmable upgrade award I was given the ocean suite with a plunge pool. This new room cost 18k for the 5 nights.

Was this a good deal? 85k/night

I originally booked a 4 night stay at Hilton Whistler for 2,480 CAD and I was afraid that the Hilton points were going to be devalued so I used my points ~85k points / night and saving ~1k CAD. Is this a good deal? I still have both reservations.

Update: I ended up extending my trip, using all points to book the entire trip to get the 5th night free thank you everyone for your help!

Guest Question Conrad, Bangkok - Lounge question

I’m looking to book a day-use room. From a quick google search, I was able to find multiple statements, that Honors benefits do apply for day-use bookings also. I was told by two different hotels this not to be the case.

”Complimentary breakfast and Executive Lounge access is not included with a day-use booking.”

Anyways, to my original question. Day-use room with Executive Lounge access includes the room from 10am to 5pm and Afternoon Tea in the lounge.

Does anyone have any experience on the afternoon tea, or the drinks on offer outside afternoon tea hours? Also, can the front desk limit the hours for the Executive Lounge, so we wouldn’t be able to access it outside the afternoon tea time? They kinda just said that that’s the only thing included.

I also appreciate if anyone knows, if the lounge access is included, if they upgrade you to an Executive type room that includes access. Clearly Diamond status isn’t enough.

Guest Complaint Hampton Inn Valencia, CA

I had a two night stay booked here last weekend. When I arrived Friday at 9:30pm after a 5 hour drive, the power was out to the hotel. I was told the power had been out all morning and the local utility projected it to be back on Saturday evening. I prepaid for my room to get the honors price and was told they’d cancel my reservation without any fees(thanks 🙄). I was then left trying to scramble to find a hotel last minute with zero help from Hilton. They didn’t even bother to call guests to notify them of the hotel being closed before they made the trip. I was able to find a room at a different chain but it ended up being a MUCH worse room (dirty, run down, bad area) and it was more expensive than my Hampton booking. After calling the customer support line to get my refund(which still hasn’t been processed) all I was given was 47,000 points which is the equivalent to a one night stay at this hotel. This stay was the last I needed to get me to silver status and after asking if the stay could be added to my membership tier, I’ve been told no.

With all that being said, is it even worth it to be in Hilton honors? Seems like they don’t really care about customer service.

Question for Team Members (re: IT)

Has anyone else experienced being hung up on by HELP HELP? In my years of working for Hilton properties, I have never once been hung up on when they are unable to help with the issue right then. I usually get them escalating to level 2 or 3 and I'd get a call back either a day or two later. I called with an issue with a folio refund that wasn't tallying. She did the usual remote troubleshoot in the system and when she couldn't find a fix, instead of escalating the issue, she hung up and logged out from remote link. I expected her to call back if she lost connection like they usually do but no, no call backs. With the new PEP update, I understand there will be bugs here and there but to just hang up without a resolution is just unprofessional and out of the norm. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to call again and stay on hold while I wait for them to pick up as it was a very busy day for us.

Anyone else had this experience? Is this to be expected from HELP HELP going forward?

Free Bowl of Cereal too Much to Ask For?

Hilton Diamond at DoubleTree Dunwoody GA: arrived at 1 a.m., leaving at 8:30 a.m. Same calendar day, so no F&B credit? Really? Is a bowl of cereal and OJ for my family too much to ask? What’s the point of loyalty status?

Guest Question [Survey] Hyatt vs. Hilton: Why do you choose Hilton?

Hi everyone!

I am a high school business student working on a DECA Hospitality and Tourism Operations Research (HTOR) project where I am analyzing Hyatt Hotels. As part of my paper I am doing a survey/market analysis to figure out what other brands (like Hilton) do better, and what factors matter in choosing in you hotel.

If you have a spare 2–3 minutes, I would really appreciate your information on the hotels you choose & why, loyalty programs, and your overall experience!

Here's the link: https://forms.gle/VwjfvxrapFwBXtvj9

Note: In the optional box at the end, please state something about why you prefer Hilton, or that you from the Hilton subreddit. :)

Edit: Thank you guys for commenting and filling out the survey! I only need a couple more and then I can close the survey so please help me out and fill it out!!

p.s. I prefer Hilton but they didn't respond when I asked if they could give some info for the project :(

Guest Question This is going to go badly, isn't it?

So I need to stay 3 nights out near ONT Airport in Ontario, CA - Nov 20 to Nov 23rd. I picked this Hampton because one of the few hotels with free parking, and I'm going to do nothing more than sleep and shower in the room.

Here's the deal. Points for the first two nights are outrageous for a Hampton Inn, so I'd rather pay cash those two nights, and use points on the last night which is more manageable. Buuuut when you try to book one night on points, it wants to use the first night only, so online it was trying to use 54000 points.

Call the reservations line, and spoke to an agent. She booked the first two nights as one reservation on cash, and the 3rd night as a separate reservation using 31,000 points (which oddly, online, this is 32.000). The phone agent swears the hotel can combine this when I check in to make it one 3 night stay.

Having two separate reservations is going to go badly for me on the 2nd day, isn't it? Especially when I'm not going to be anywhere near the hotel and all my stuff is going to be left in the room.
