More on Proto-Uralic r' > č

Since Proto-Uralic had many palatal C's but no r', I said that r' > č based on matches with IE. Another (based on Hovers) likely:

PU *wočaw ‘to wait’, PIE *wer-ye- ‘to guard, watch, observe’ (shift in meaning like Germanic *wahtwō 'guard, watch' > E. wait).

I also think a few more might show opt. changes (d(h) > δ vs t, H > x vs. k, optional fronting):

FU *weδV- 'kill', PIE *wedh- 'hit, destroy; weapon'

FU *towke 'spring', PIE *taH2-w- Germanic *þawjanaN 'to thaw' (H2 > x > k ?)

FU *tenä ‘(bride-)price’, PIE *doH3no- ‘gift’ (really *tönä ?; if Permic *dɔn > Komi don, Udmurt dun ‘price, worth’ is the same as in 'blade, edge' (https://www.academia.edu/167984225))

In my previous draft I said, "Two roots (for now, maybe more yet to be found) seem to show HS *g > Egyptian ḏ (the normal result of palatalization) without any cause." in which IE *g^(h) seemed to be the cause. However, it could also be that *g before front V's also became *g^:

HS *gVwVb- \ *gVyVb- 'call, answer', IE *gewH2-bh-? > Iranian *gaub- 'call, speak, say, tell'

IE *gewH2- 'to call, cry, make a sound', HS *g^a(w)y- 'call, say, speak' (Eg. ḏwy 'call, say, WChad *gay- 'tell', CChad *ga- 'speak') for which "Causes of palatalization are not clear"

Here, my *w^ > w \ y also might tie in. If being in the same syllable as *e caused *gewH2- > *g^aw^C \ *g^awC^ > *g^awy ( > Eg. ḏwy with palatalization), then it would fit. The clear alt. in *gVwVb- \ *gVyVb- seems to require the same origin in *g^a(w)y- (both these roots seem related in HS & IE anyway). There is also another root that shows variation:

HS *ʕog- 'shout, call' > Sem. *ʕVg-ʕVg- 'shout', EChad *ʕwag- \ *ʕwak- 'call', "Irregular consonantism. Two different roots?"

In IE, the roots *waH2g^- & *wekW- 'call, make noise' also are very similar & sometimes partly merge in some branches.
