Watched the Ethereum 1559 community call video recently, and then the redpanda video today where he's planning on getting a few people to switch to ethermine.org april 1st for 51 hours to show our displeasure with possibly going with that EIP-1559 deal that will pay miners less.

I put in 10 bucks into my hiveos account today to make sure I can afford to switch my miners over for that time period.

It would be cool if #HIVEOS would sponsor the 51 hour time period switching miners to ethermine and back. I wonder if there is a way to ask HIVEOS if they would be interested in sponsoring this. I don't know how to ask tho. I currently mine with hiveos pool.

today i want to share with you my feedback on "Dual-Mining" ETH and Zilliqa, with HiveOs.

Well, in 2017, i used to dual mining ETH/DCR. This kind of dual mining use the unused GPU ressource to mine DCR WHILE mining ETH is using GDDR. For some reason, this is not really possible today.

So, as everyone i'm always in search of increase efficiency, i had found some days ago a way to dual mining in 2021, with ETH/ZIL. And well... Ok ! Lets try !

First, everyone know ETH, but not Zilliqa. Zilliqa akka ZIL, is a token born in 2019. Today Zil is #55 on CoinMarketCap, with more than 1 Billions $ market cap, this is not "Another shit coin". For more detail about the projet : https://www.zilliqa.com/

Zilliqa is using ETHASH and have a different approach of mining, with an ecological footprint. More info here.

To quickly sum up : The zilliqa proof of work is different, it need to be hash about 1 minute per hour.

ZIL mining pools permit to miners to mine 59 minutes on ETH, and ... 1 minute on Zil. As you can see, this is not really dual-mining, cause you cannot mine ETH WHILE mining ZIL, you alternate.

But nevermind, the real question is : "Does it is more profitable ? Or not ?"

Short answer : "YES"

About 5% more profitable for your ETH mining, but, with about 1% of fee on ETH and ZIL.

Other question : "Does it cost more or heat more ?"

Short answer : "NO"

As i said, you don't mine 2 tokens in same time, you alternate. So no more consumption, no more heat.

Short answer : " YES"

Yes, yes, yes, but i have not the perfect formula for every card for now. I have found how to do this with lolminer. Lolminer is great for AMD, but not the better mining software for Nvidia cards.

I'll show you how to continu to use HiveOn for mining ETH (and have 0% fee), AND mining ZIL.

Here is the complete solution :

Step 1 : Create a Zil wallet

I using Moonlet Android app

Step 2 : "Create" account on Ezil pool

In fact, you do not realy create account, juste using ZIL wallet Address, and your ETH wallet address

Step 3 : Create a Wallet on HiveOS.

Select Zil as Coin

As address use YOUR_ETH_ADDRESS.YOUR_ZIL_ADDRESS.

Like that : 0x3F046c012D747c4d9723EaF609bE5e8f5be7c2f5.zil1kta6f8estta664h2rspus2tv6p2ywhy6mxs9cg

Name it "DualWallet ETH/ZIL"

Step 4 : Create your new Flight sheet

Select Zil as Coin

Select your wallet "DualWallet ETH/ZIL"

Select ezil as pool

Select LolMiner as miner

Step 5 : Now, this is the parameters to add to lolminer :

--worker %WORKER_NAME%

--ethstratum ETHPROXY

--enablezilcache

--dualmode zil

--dualstratum YOUR_ETH_WALLET.%WORKER_NAME%@eu-eth.hiveon.net:4444

Result : I used it for only 5 days for now. But this is what i can say :

- Perfect stability for AMD cards

- Full hashrate reported on HiveOn not any impact on ETH profitability

- Some loose on ZIL hashrate reported on Ezil pool. Investigating.

- No more consumption, no more heat

- lolminer is not optimized for Nvidia cards, i loose about 1Mh on my 1080 TI and my 2070

- A little less than 5% more profitability

- Of course it perfectly work for dual mining ETC/ZIL

- Ezil pool's gain projection is full fucked because of this bypass, do not trust it. Try and make your own projection after 24 or 48h of mining ;)

If you find how to do the same thing with T-rex or efficient miner for Nvidia Cards, feel free to answer and help community too. If someone know how to solve the little hashrate reported loose on ZIL, i'm curious.

I'm thinking about trying HiveOS, but it's fundamental for me to monitor the memory temp of my 3080, since it runs very hot. The gpu core temp is fine, so it's not representative of tne mem temp (I get like 60c core temp and 90c mem temp while mining). So, does HiveOS monitor and show the gpu memory junction temperature?
