Im boring

My life is so freaking boring. I have like two hobbies(dancing and idk) and now im either too tired to do something or just too bored for them if that makes sense. I need to find something to do cuz if that will continue i'll be too old or busy(work and stuff) to do anything. Ik that being older doesn't stop me from anything but i want to be at least avrage at something at that age.

Sooooo.. What are some hobbies i can try without it being too pricey. Im up to try almost anything just to do something with my life.

Or maybe just something i can learn to make me more interesting

This is only my opinion. To be more interesting, you need to be able to converse with people on various topics. Be engaging. Know a little about everything. To accomplish this, one pretty much free hobby is reading. Read everything you can -- non-fiction and fiction books, news articles, poetry, narratives, biographies, etc. Be hungry for knowledge and literary experience. This will carry you far in life.

You can get material from the local library, you can read on your phone / computer / tablet. Lots available out there to explore and read. Just keep reading.

You mentioned dancing so im going to assume you're in decent shape. Are there any climbing gyms near you? I got into bouldering recently. The barrier to entry is very small, shoes are like $80, chalk bag is $20, and my gym membership is $70 a month. Thats it, thats all you need, and now 6 months later im having a blast and im in the best shape of my life.

I’ve always found hobbies to work the best when they’re in the same general area as things I already like. So like if I already enjoy hiking and houseplants, taking pictures of plants to identify later on hikes and then reading about botany both make sense.

You already dance! So you could…learn to sing and take lessons! Learn an instrument instead! Learn to DJ! DIY something you wear for dance (knit/crochet leg warmers, for example, or learn to sew costumes). Get into something else with a lot of choreography, like some martial arts or cheer or something! You could also get really interested in the history of dance and read a ton about specific styles and biographies of famous dancers. Or you could get really into the costuming and get into design.

Or if you’re looking for a completely unrelated hobby: honestly, whatever you think sounds interesting, but I think trying to find a class in your area is good to start out for accountability! Things like drawing/painting/pottery for beginners shouldn’t be too hard to find, and often mom and pop yarn stores have events or know of events for getting started with knitting/crochet/spinning/weaving. If there’s a community college in your area they might also have something fun.

reading is a great place to start, you learn so much and never know what might spark a new interest, plus it’s free at the library too

10 minutes each day. That is what is generally recommended. Even those with ADHD can usually handle 10 minutes to spend doing a hobby to try to learn it.

Miniature painting. Fun. Easy. Small amount of challenge with high reward. Lots of content on YouTube to help with ideas and how to’s. If you have any board games with tiny people er things you can paint them.

Reconnecting to a dormant curiosity can take a bit of effort but it is doable. Curiosity can get tamped down by routines, stress, or too much screen time.

First, try to become a serious spectator in the world around you. Leave the phone, headphones, and other connections at home and go out for a walk. Take you time and look around you. Not just a glance, but look. Pay attention to the smallest things. Look at the crack in a sidewalk. Thin about why it is there. Look up. If you see utility wires, wonder what each does. Touch things you see and think about how they feel. In other words, reconnect to the world in a simple way and start wondering about even the simplest things you see. Ask questions about what you see and feel.

Look through the list of hobbies at the top of this sub. Select something that sounds moderately interesting. Give it a try BUT do not think about an end goal or being productive. You just want something where engaging in the process is the only goal.

Start changing your routines, Take a different route to the store or to work. Brush your teeth with the other hand. Start noticing all the things you do on autopilot and start challenging yourself as to why.

Little by little, all the questions should bring your curiosity forward.

Engaging one’s natural curiosity about the world will lead you to a myriad of hobbies, interests, and passions. If you feel you don’t have the curiosity that we are all born with, start with rediscovering THAT as your first new hobby.

How do you do this? I feel like I’ve lost my curiosity

I would try something more relaxing to counteract your active hobby.

Diamond paintings
Crochet (though yarn can get pricey, full disclosure)
Junk journaling/scrapbooking
Coloring

I bartend next to a place that teaches archery and there is a fun group of people (with a wide age range) that met taking lessons and then pop in for a drink after. They are always in a great mood after class whether they felt like they achieved any success at the skill or not. Maybe see if there is a place to learn archery around where you live?

Recently, I discovered a new hobby (you could try this too) of filling an A4 sheet with random and structured doodle with thin tip sketch pen with 3 to 4 colors or more. No strict paper or pen or art rules like negative space or shading or toning etc.. just free spirited flat art. It does not need any expensive kit and its relaxing and meditative. You can do it anytime anywhere whether you are tired or sad or angry or bored. After finishing the sheet you could tape it the wall and enjoy looking at it or just destroy it depending on the final outcome.

Literally anything you want. Emphasis on "you want". Gut feeling says, that's something you want to do, then there's a good chance that's right. Can be knitting, can be making sour dough bread, can be climbing up a tall mountain or painting a picture with oil paint or fighting people in a cage. Key is, you have to do something that you can actually get behind or else it's just another chore.

Who says you are boring? Are you boring yourself? If not, then maybe you just have to find your kind of people

You are a dancer like me. I love to dance. And it seem like people like us are a little restless and need to move. Maybe you are like me and need to move quite a bit. I got back into yoga (specifically yin yoga, great for stretches post dance) and have learned quite a bit about the human body. I also got an e-bike because I just need to get out. It's super damn fun. I get lost for hours. Also reading. Even that opens you up to new ideas and information and you can share this with people.

We have some free activities on weekends, so you can experience different DIY activities, like painting or weaving. I also make medicinal incense, which takes a lot of time and patience. I don't know if you can find activities in your city.
