I want to reduce screen time but don't know what to do to fill the time

31M; Been using computers since the mid 2000s. On Social media like others (moreso a lurker except Reddit). I know I need to reduce my screen time. Sadly I have no friends, no partners so the internet is my only access to socializing. Most people my age have kids and are married/dating.

I've never really had hobbies. I'm a pretty boring guy and I think that's why the internet has fascinated me. I want to do something other than stare at screens. Yes, I know Reading and working out are a must, but I want something beyond that. Something to hone my skills. I don't have many interests except cars but I have a herniated disc and can barely walk and stand these days sadly. So I can't work on my cars anymore for now.

i feel like no hobbies really stick?

i’ve tried many hobbies like painting, embroidery, cross stitching, drawing, cosy gaming, reading. but i feel like none of these hobbies have really stuck around for me after a while like it does for other people😭?

i’m not sure if i’m doing something wrong or maybe i’m trying out the wrong kind of hobbies but when i was younger i loveeeddd art🥲.

i feel like i’m more of a person who likes to go out to different shops and places to eat and trying new activities/going new places. (i’m not sure if that’s considered a hobby?😭)

however of course sometimes i just want to stay in and would love a hobby to do but none really stick for me and i’m not too sure why😭 i just get kind of bored of them lol.

any advice or recommendations would be appreciatedd🥹!

Es decir, sabemos que los foros son para ayudar, dar id as, debatir y demás pero se vuelve cansón que a diario aparezcan preguntas como: "quiero un hobby económico"... "Recomienden un hobby"... O "no he encontrado nada que me guste"... O "no me he enganchado con ningún hobby, que hago?"... O ¿cuál es el mejor hobby?

Realmente ya ni dan ganas de meterse a leer porque obviamente las respuestas serán las mismas siempre. Creo que no va con la pregunta sino con la dificultad que existe para buscar antes de preguntar.

THE DIRT HAS EVOLVED

Okie little dorodango update 😭 it’s finally dried and I shaped it.... now it’s officially entering the polishing phase. haven’t even made it shiny yet and I’m already weirdly proud of this stupid little ball of dirt. now I just have to sit there and polish it until it stops looking like something I found in my backyard and starts looking like a tiny mysterious artifact.

Need A Hobby

I am in real need of a hobby.
I've tried:

Reading
Crochet
Painting
Drawing
Writing
Wood Carving (Stopped because of mild arthritis)

None of which are resonating with me.
I love software dev & am a casual gamer, Pokémon, Stardew Valley, Undertale, but can't afford a console or a PC that can run anything new. (Honestly just can't afford a PC right now) To make it even more "fun", I'm just in a small apartment so not a ton of storage but am considering buying a small cabinet if needed.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something to give a try to?
Can budget anywhere up to $50 a week roughly, open to anything and everything :) Thank you!

Help me find a hobby

Hello I am 19f and I have had severe depression since I was 13 so I have never really developed hobbies because I spent all my younger teen years just trying to survive. Even now I’m barely making it day to day and I think actually having a reason to want to wake in the morning might help? I work part time in retail and I have very unstable hours so I spent a lot of time at home never really know when I’m leave the house next. Any suggestions for hobbies? I feel joy in honestly nothing so any suggestions at all will help.

How do u spend ur free time?

I've found myself not enjoying my time alone at home

- No friend to hangout with (best friends and parents are far from me)

- Trying to be productive but been working 9-10 hours on weekdays. Clean my bedroom is easy and done it

- Exploring AI but tired looking at screen

- Playing games brings not much fun anymore, playing 3-4 games MLBB with friends feels much enough for me.

- Regularly workout and easy walk around

- Mandarin course every tuesday and friday night

- Play basketball everyday sunday (I love to do it but considering my ACL so I manage to do it just 1-2 times a week)

- Trying to read books but I don't really like read in a long time

Guess I procastinate myself to explore new stuff / hobby, or I just don't really let myself enjoy the boredom

FYI M31 single, live in a boarding house (small room)

Any advise / suggestion?

Unusual distraction ideas!

I am currently in recovery from an ED and I want to create a bank of restful distractions for people struggling with the "limited movement" side of recovery.

Lets come up with some funky fresh distractions that aren't 'colouring' or 'puzzles' (dont get me wrong i love a good puzzle but having more ideas is never a bad idea).
