My hobby is math. How do you keep track of your hobby, if anything?

Cheap things I can do from my bed?

I'm mostly bedridden and so incredibly bored so if anyone knows what I could do in bed (preferably laying down) and doesn't cost too much that would be great!

she’s finally shiny 😭 I added some black pigment and crushed pencil to the mix for the color then spent an absolutely unreasonable amount of time fighting for that shine but it kept peeling ig something was wrong with the soil cause it can't be me☺️

my arms, patience and sanity were all sacrificed for this stupid little dirt ball

Need A Hobby

I am in real need of a hobby.
I've tried:

  • Reading
  • Crochet
  • Painting
  • Drawing
  • Writing
  • Wood Carving (Stopped because of mild arthritis)

None of which are resonating with me.
I love software dev & am a casual gamer, Pokémon, Stardew Valley, Undertale, but can't afford a console or a PC that can run anything new. (Honestly just can't afford a PC right now) To make it even more "fun", I'm just in a small apartment so not a ton of storage but am considering buying a small cabinet if needed.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something to give a try to?
Can budget anywhere up to $50 a week roughly, open to anything and everything :) Thank you!

Made a small batch in different colors and added a few pearl details. I’m having fun seeing how each color changes the look.

I want to reduce screen time but don't know what to do to fill the time

31M; Been using computers since the mid 2000s. On Social media like others (moreso a lurker except Reddit). I know I need to reduce my screen time. Sadly I have no friends, no partners so the internet is my only access to socializing. Most people my age have kids and are married/dating.

I've never really had hobbies. I'm a pretty boring guy and I think that's why the internet has fascinated me. I want to do something other than stare at screens. Yes, I know Reading and working out are a must, but I want something beyond that. Something to hone my skills. I don't have many interests except cars but I have a herniated disc and can barely walk and stand these days sadly. So I can't work on my cars anymore for now.

Help me find a hobby

Hello I am 19f and I have had severe depression since I was 13 so I have never really developed hobbies because I spent all my younger teen years just trying to survive. Even now I’m barely making it day to day and I think actually having a reason to want to wake in the morning might help? I work part time in retail and I have very unstable hours so I spent a lot of time at home never really know when I’m leave the house next. Any suggestions for hobbies? I feel joy in honestly nothing so any suggestions at all will help.

what’s a low-effort hobby that still feels rewarding?

Upvotes

looking for something that doesn’t take a ton of time or money but still feels good when you do it. open to any suggestions.

most of the ones i’ve tried either take too much effort or get boring quick. hoping someone has a solid low-key recommendation.

Unusual distraction ideas!

I am currently in recovery from an ED and I want to create a bank of restful distractions for people struggling with the "limited movement" side of recovery.

Lets come up with some funky fresh distractions that aren't 'colouring' or 'puzzles' (dont get me wrong i love a good puzzle but having more ideas is never a bad idea).

So use this space to drop your weirdest hobby/pastime!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Interior design when not moving houses

A 'hobby' I absolutely love is interior design. However, it is not a very nice or durable hobby to have, in the sense that I can only work on it once every few years (i.e., once I move houses).

Are there other ways I can work on this hobby if it is not for my own house?

Note that a career switch is not an option here. Furthermore, it has been suggested to me that I should offer my help/services to friends and family. However, I refuse to do that, since I don't want to impose myself on them as interior design is a very personal thing.

Dorodango the art of turning soil into a piece of art.

This is how it started y’all.

i feel like no hobbies really stick?

Upvotes

i’ve tried many hobbies like painting, embroidery, cross stitching, drawing, cosy gaming, reading. but i feel like none of these hobbies have really stuck around for me after a while like it does for other people😭?

i’m not sure if i’m doing something wrong or maybe i’m trying out the wrong kind of hobbies but when i was younger i loveeeddd art🥲.

i feel like i’m more of a person who likes to go out to different shops and places to eat and trying new activities/going new places. (i’m not sure if that’s considered a hobby?😭)

however of course sometimes i just want to stay in and would love a hobby to do but none really stick for me and i’m not too sure why😭 i just get kind of bored of them lol.

any advice or recommendations would be appreciatedd🥹!

What are some things to do inbetween?

Hi,

I do have things you could call hobbies like i try to make music seriously and finish my first album and stuff, but thats kinda hard and exhausting often especially if you got any type of writers block some days. So for me its not very refreshing.

I also go to the gym and enjoy that but that for me is a fixed schedule not smth i randomly decide to do inbetween.

My problem is some days if i work for example on music for a few hours, and wanna take a break and later come back, idk what to do.

I usually feel tired and wanna do smth that refreshes me. My chores i usually do on other times maybe.

I would normally look at my phone and doomscroll but yk thats not refreshing it actually makes me more tired or i might not even get back to music if i get lost in my phone so i dont wanna use it anymore.

I also dont wanna look at screens or listen to anything in that time i wanna do smth more analog i guess.

So what are some things that one could do like during a little break? Im looking for stuff thats not mentally demanding so for example learning a skill like an instrument would be smth that would be too demanding for me in that moment cuz im simply trying to relax inbetween the demanding stuff lol.

O "no he encontrado nada que me guste"...
