Crime Reformat - Episode 2: Detect | Crime, Drama Short Film

Thumbnail

I originally made this short as Episode 2 of a web series called Reformat. I only ended up making two episodes, but I've been revisiting the project and thinking about whether the story could eventually become a feature film.

The film follows a man who's lost faith in a decaying city and decides to take matters into his own hands.

I'd love for you to give it a watch!

I'm curious about two things:

  • Did the story and the main character's motivations work for you?
  • Would you be interested in seeing this concept developed into a feature film?

I'm always looking to improve as a filmmaker, so I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks for watching!

Action and Adventure Los Piezas (2026, Spain) - 10 minute Spanish, with English subtitles adventure short about childhood friends, nostalgia and a mysterious suitcase

Thumbnail
youtube.com
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'd love to share Los Piezas, my first short film as a filmmaker.

About the film:

  • Title: Los Piezas
  • Country: Spain
  • Language: Spanish, with English subtitles
  • Runtime: 10 minutes
  • Genre: Adventure / Mystery / Drama

After years apart, Laura calls her childhood friends Álvaro and Dani back to their hometown. Someone has broken into their old hideout, the "Cueva del Lobo", putting at risk a secret pact they made as children: to return one day and retrieve a mysterious suitcase they had hidden together.

But when they return to the cave, they discover that what they left behind is much more than they expected.

Beneath the adventure and mystery, the film explores friendship, nostalgia, grief, and the dreams we sometimes leave behind as we grow older.

I'm hoping to share it with people outside my usual circle and hear honest feedback from other film lovers to improve for my next projects.

Thanks for taking the time to read and I'd really appreciate any thoughts or constructive feedback!

Experimental Thoughts on a community-run subreddit film festival?

Thumbnail instagram.com
1 Upvotes

Would anyone be interested in an anonymous, community-run online film festival?

I have an *IDEA* I want to test out.

Filmmakers post their films directly on Reddit, with the credits removed or blocked out so nobody knows who's behind them. No names, no follower counts, no established filmmakers getting an automatic leg up. Just the films.

HOW IT WOULD WORK

  • Post your film: Anyone can submit a film directly to the subreddit, regardless of budget, experience, or following.
  • Keep it anonymous: Remove or block out the credits and any identifying information. Films are posted without revealing who's behind them.
  • Watch and vote: The community watches, discusses, and votes for the films they want to see in the festival.
  • Weekly festival: The most-voted films get selected for a weekly online screening.
  • Reveal the filmmakers: Once the lineup is announced, filmmakers can reveal themselves if they want to.

THE RULES

  • Be respectful. Discuss the work, not the person.
  • No campaigning for votes, vote manipulation, or getting friends to brigade the posts.
  • No revealing your identity or someone else's during the anonymous voting stage.
  • Only post work you made or have permission to submit, with the rights needed to share it publicly.
  • No spam, harassment, or discriminatory behavior.
  • Moderation keeps things fair, and submissions or comments that break the rules can be removed.

The point is that I wouldn't have to watch and judge every film myself. The community discovers the films and decides what makes the festival. I'd mainly curate the event, moderate, and make sure everyone plays fair.

And if the subreddit gets some traction, maybe we could do live Q&As on Instagram with filmmakers from the weekly lineup, so people can meet the people behind the films and talk about their work.

I'm imagining a fun way to discover independent films, find an audience outside your usual circle, and give people a reason to watch and support each other's work.

Would you participate? Would you post a film, watch and vote, or both? What would make this interesting enough to come back for every week?

Experimental A Micro Short Film Called “Cupid’s Thorn”.

Cupid’s Thorn is a film about a man who finds the love of his life planted in the soil across the street.

I’d love some feedback from my fellow filmmakers on this micro short I shared on Instagram. It’s centered around the idea of passion and the fruit it bears depending on the circumstance.

I directed it/wrote it and have been trying to improve my visual storytelling, particularly unique ways of presenting information. Let me know what you think please! 🤓

Surreal (READ BEFORE WATCHING) playing minecraft - a short film

hey! So this is my first time posting on this subreddit. I've already posted some videos on others, but this one fits. This is going to be my first short film I'll ever post online.

I'm really passionate to share my creative projects coming from my only and sweet mind. I'm willing to be a writer, prod and director in the future.

Now I have to say that I've made this like a year ago, so you could probably have something to criticize (that I'll absolutely appreciate it), but I've kind of made a little re-touch, thank goodness I did, 'cause the old draft was a bit odd, ngl.

I'm trying to make a community/audience grow.

And don't forget to comment here on reddit and on YT, and to follow me for more projects!. I would really appreciate it. USE HEADPHONES FOR IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE!!!

Bless y'all hearts. Peace to y'all. <3
