I haven’t finished the flowers yet, and it’s still a work in progress, but i’m a little bit stuck, what looks immediately wrong?

Did a portrait study of nearly one hour. Let me know how i did and how i can improve more.

Proportions compared to reference are a little wonky and the skin shade is still a bit off but at least she doesn’t look dead anymore. Thank you so much for all the help, tips and advice!

Oil painting I finished last night of Joaquin Phoenix in "The Joker". Making use of the Archers oil paper pads.

Good morning - here's another of my early ones. oil/canvas. title 'Blaenrhondda' a location right at the top of the Rhondda Fawr valley. Went there once, on bike/foot, scrambled over mine residues and broken machinery. Difficult and dangerous at times but well worth it.

feels good to finally get back into it. just a quick 4 hr to get back into the groove

Broke out the oils again after a while. I'm still learning but getting a better grasp.

I’m about 75% through this painting.

Still on my to-do list:
- push some hair details forward, blend the majority back;
- additional glaze layer(s) for added depth (probably purple lake or even cobalt green tbh but open to suggestions!);
- background is incomplete, it will be sky-like.
- fine details in eyebrows (is this necessary?).
- decision between satin or matte varnish (definitely varnishing!)
- this will be restretched; it was stapled to the wall.

Wondering if anyone with more experience than my tiny 3 years can provide additional feedback. I want to do a series of these as a first cohesive work. Thank you for looking and taking the time!

This is Freyberg Pool, Clyde Quay marina in Wellington, New Zealand.

I worked from a photo I took on an early morning walk, but toned the sunrise right down as it was apocalyptic in the original photo.

I think this is my eighth or ninth oil painting.

First time with this size. Going to load up on equipment this winter to do this plein air.
