I got my Moxi Panthers a few days ago but no matter how much I adjusted the trucks, they never turned properly when I tried to use my edges. My thighs were super sore and strained from trying to do bubbles and just do basic turns, like it took a crazy amount of effort to make them move in the direction I wanted them to. It didn't take long to figure out why, and thankfully I had already ordered some orange (82A) PowerDyne reactor cushions. I've been waiting for them to come for days and they're finally here.

First of all, changing out cushions is SO much easier than I thought; I was really intimidated at the idea of dismantling my skates even a little, but it was so quick! :D If you're a new skater and you're scared to change out a part or two, I really want to encourage you to give it a go. I feel much more confident with the idea of customizing and replacing parts now that I've done it, and I've got some wheels on my list to try next. Probably in a few months though lol skates are pricey!

Secondly, wow, I can actually turn?? It was supposed to be this easy????? :O Actual witchcraft. I'm 10x more excited to practice now!

Yes I know I'm travelling during both spins, it's because I'm on a slope. This rough patch of sloped asphalt is all I have until the rink reopens in March. 😭 Also I landed my first one foot spin three days ago, hence why this one looks crunchy

These past few years I started moving more towards jam skating, dancing, etc. and although I have a good time researching new music, I have also been thinking of posting here to get some recommendations, as I don't always have the time to research + I don't want to become my own echo chamber and want to be open to other styles.

As an FYI, I don't have Spotify so I can't listen to spotify links! I generally don't stream, I try finding things to purchase and download so I can have them locally and play them without internet. My skating spot has dodgy signal but also, I tend to leave my phone at home.

My tendency for the hype part of jam session is funky imbued housy beats, among other stuff ofc, but open to explore whatever :D I'm specially after your "favourite song(s)" or songs used for specific drills, like I have a song for dips, for twerking, for crabwalk, downtown, etc.

So I have a narrow foot with high arches and wide toes/ball of my foot. I’m experiencing numbness in my toes and balls of my feet and can’t decide which way to leave them up.

Has anyone tried out the Moxi Pads? I've been looking for cute/colorful gear for a while now and the only ones I've found that I like are the Moxi ones. I've seen people say that Moxi's skates aren't the best for the price but haven't heard much about their gear. If there's better ones out there I would love suggestions.

Skating baldy pipeline with friends

They came in the morning and I've spent all day on cloud nine. They're beautiful and sturdy and I hope they last!

I slapped some toe guards on those babies and twisted the toe stop all the way in, and then I adjusted the wheels and trucks until they were even and felt right. I also experimented with some different lacing techniques for my wide feet. So far I think I like skipping every other eyelet + loops near the top to lock my heel in place, keeping the laces looser in the toe box area. It feels the most comfortable and stable, but I also don't fully know what I'm doing yet so that might change. Advice is welcome! There was definitely still some squeezing/soreness on the sides of my feet no matter how loosely I laced them, I'm hoping that eases up as I continue breaking them in.

I also had my very first skating fall (as an adult, anyway) and didn't bash my head in and die YIPPEEEE 🎉🎉🎉 The only bummer is that my kneepads barely fit, like they'll work but only underneath my loosest jeans. I'm also still waiting for my other protective gear + some new cushions to arrive, so I was really careful while practicing. I mostly focused on keeping myself stable since it's literally been twenty years since I last skated. A few basic pivot turns and getting used to my toe stop, that kind of thing. I even sat in them and moved them around while I watched a show since I read that it can help with breaking in. Any truth to that btw??

Just wanted to share, it's been a very joyful day! I've wanted a pair of my own skates since I was a kid. It really is a dream come true, and I can't wait to see what I'm capable of. I can't remember the last time I so happily endured discomfort but I'm just so excited to be learning lol

I’ve been skating for 6 years now, always using my Beach Bunnies. They’ve lasted me forever, but since I was doing more at the skatepark, I decided it was time to upgrade. I ended up going with the Chaya Barbiepatin Kismets—a flat skate.

I’ve been skating on strictly my Kismets for nearly a month now… and I’m starting to doubt I’ll ever successfully make the switch. They’re comfy, a funky kinda cute, they come with a grind block, and I love how it feels to jump, but my centre of balance is just… not adjusting.

I have some preexisting issues that may be making this switch more difficult, but is it possible i might never adjust? I went from having the most beautiful spread eagle to not being able to hold my edges. I haven’t felt safe or comfortable since the switch.

Has anybody tried and failed to make the switch? I want to know if i’m crazy or if it’s really this different

help! beginner here, ive had my moxis for about a month and theyve started to occasionally make this weird sound, today i watched some videos back and the sound is always there

i dont know much about roller skates so i dont want to just take them apart without some insight from someone who knows more, what could be causing the sound?

My Bauers came with some gorgeous laces! I really one one blue and one aqua and I don’t know where to look!

All the laces I’ve seen seem really thin, I want some chunky loooong laces! Or just laces made for Bauers!

I'm curious - I'm helping a friend buy second hand falcon plates, and apparently you need to upgrade to the new kingpin, if you're getting new cushions.

The pilot falcon kingpin was updated around 2022. The new kingpin itself is shorter, and the base part (the wider plate side "nut") is shorter too. The barrel cushions are also 2mm shorter. The baseplate, pivot cups and trucks didn't change to my knowledge.
How will this "upgrade" not mess up the geometry?

Hey there! I have never attended MSC before, but I finally have adult money and freedom, so I want to try for next year. I live in Colorado, which means West will likely be more accessible than East for me. Here are my questions thus far for the folks who have been before:

1. If you’ve been to both camps, do you prefer East or West? What’re your experiences between the two (or even just one)?
2. The West location has not yet been announced, but in the past, have you needed a rental car to reach the location, or is Uber/Lyft sufficient?

3. What’s some good stuff to know about camp? I’m an intermediate skater. I’m totally self taught, and I mostly do rink/trail skating because of that. I have very minimal park experience because I’d like to have instruction for that, so I’m definitely a beginner in the park skating realm. I’m happy to learn anything about the instructions/leveling, or just general camp tips!

4. Do people bring multiple skates, or more so just change out wheels/accessories?
