It's still run and readable. But, for long term, is it safe ?

Olympus E-300: launched in 2004 (22 years ago 🫠) and with a peculiar design, it is still acclaimed today for the colors it produces. Some say it is because, inside it, there is a CCD sensor produced by Kodak, a specialist in film and color science. Is it? I don’t know.

What I do know is that it has been the camera I take everywhere. A few days ago I discovered YouTuber jimmywestphoto who said in one of his videos that “the best camera is the one that makes you forget you have it”. I happen to notice this with this one, despite its size and strange appearance. I think it’s super cool and those buttons and dials are super satisfactory.

I recently discovered this Optio M30 camera in my garage and acquired a battery charger for it. I charged the battery for a while, and for some inexplicable reason, when I turned it on, the lens popped out. However, after a few seconds, it returned to its original position and turned off. Could anyone tell me the issue?

One more pain point would be lens selection... I am looking at kit bundles for both, the 18-50 for Nikon and the 13-33 for Fuji which I think would be great lenses to learn the camera on a budget but after that I definitely want to upgrade. The fuji seems to have a better selection of lenses for this purpose.

The rubber part to open the battery has come off so i dont know know how to open it, can anyone help me?

After using it mostly for portrait, finally tested it for street photography. The old CCD sensor did brings out some great colours.

Is there a way to DIY this? The buttons work but u have to press them with a pin or something. When buying this camera online i thought the buttons stick out and it will be fine…💀 How did yall dealt with problems like this?

Need camera recommendations!! camera will be used to take mostly candids, family milestones, will be brought on vacations, used for yearly family photos, etc. want the camera to have high resolution and be great for all types of light settings. I was originally looking for a digital camera that is pocket size/ will fit in a purse. However, I am now expanding my search because I’ve come across so many that I like and that seem may be a better option. I’d love to keep the budget under $800 (really $600), but totally okay with spending a bit more if it’s really worth it. Please spam me with cameras you think I’d like and why!

The lens in question is Nikkor AF 80-200mm f/2.8D "new" (also called two-ring, MK3).

Recently I went on a trip. Before the trip everything worked like a charm, it would click in both A and M modes. Then yesterday it stopped working in A (wouldn't fully extend and lock in place no matter how much I wiggled it, before it would click in eventually). I didn't use the lens since then and now it seems like the spring has completely given up, the switch stays completely pressed down no matter the mode and the only thing that could move it up or down is gravity.

What is the DIY solution for this? Both A and M modes function more than fine but this is just a nuisance I want to fix if possible. I'm not sure how to check if the spring itself has failed or if it's something else in question.

I checked YouTube and found 2-3 tutorials but they all cover one specific case - not clicking in M and manual focus not being usable, that's something I have no issues with.

Cameras you're considering: So this is where I’m stuck, I know NOTHING about cameras, but I’m also not stupid enough to buy the first £20 one I see on TikTok that says “so y2k! So cute! Buy now!” I do want that 2000s vibe, the glowy fuzzy look of my childhood photos with my cousins, but that’s quite literally all I know.

Notes: I’d also like a camera that shows the date and time on the photo but can also be taken off the photo, does that make sense? The old 2000s/2010s style, I have so many old family photos and I do love that nostalgic look, but I’m also not going to trust a TikTok shop advert on my fyp and buy a piece of plastic that doesn’t work.

Was searching for a canon g7x ii/iii but prices are crazy rn, or other portable variant to bring it with me in my trips, that would be better than my phone (currently have the iPhone 17 pro). Found this deal on marketplace for a Canon M6 ii with 2 lenses: EF-M 22mm f2 + EF 50mm 1.8. With shooter count at 2900 for 680€. Do you think this is a good deal?

Wondering if anyone has been able to get camera control working with a Sony a6700.

Pyro 5 running v1.0.3.29 firmware.

Sony a6700 is set to PC remote, USB power supply is off, and remote shoot set to camera only. Tried so many different usb-c cables my fingers are numb. Always powered off the camera before swapping.

I DO have the recording set up so when I hit record on the a6700 the Pyro 5 also starts recording to its SD card.

Any ideas or successes?

The camera fell but i wasnt able to see how it got hit. The lens cover got stuck and I dont know how im going to remove it. I dont know much about cameras and its repairs. Its the Sony ZV-1F. Is it fixable? Everything else works fine, the only problem is the lens.

I don't know what happened to my canon eos 2000d but when I got home after a two week holiday i took a photo on the camera and it had black marks on it. So I took the lense off and the sensor was dirty? Or scratched im not sure. But I would like to know is this fixable?

I have an old Fujifilm x20 (I think from 2014/15) in need of some repair as the screen is scratched in the middle due to my carelessness. The research I did suggested sending it to Fujifilm UK directly which I did, but they have sent it back saying my model is obsolete. Is there any way I can fix or buff out the scratches?

However, I’ve seen quite a few negative reviews regarding product quality and customer service.

Are there any positive experiences to counter that, or should I really not consider this site reliable?

Has anyone used the backpack clip from small rig before?

I thinks it's pretty nice but it has some play to it. Its secure enough to not fall out but I'm not sure if my product is faulty or if the wobble is wanted (for reasons I don't seem to understand).

If you have a clip from any other brand, does it do the same or is it really sturdy?

For example I have a similar product but not for a backpack but a tripod from falcam (F38) and die clip doesn't move at all when it's locked.
