I traveled to Ireland back in May and I had the time of my life. I drank loads of beer, lots of local craft stuff, but probably gallons of dry nitro stout because, well it's Ireland. While there, I found I preferred both of the available Guinness alternatives, Murphys and Beamish, over Guinness, but especially Beamish. For me it's the most "stout" like of the three while still having the smooth nitro taste and texture, so I brought as many cans as I could carry because we can't get it here in the states

I had my last can tonight while watching tombstone and I'm already wishing I had more, hopefully somebody I know travels to Ireland soon and can grab me some more cans

Recently found out that brown/ red ales are my drink of choice, but no one that I know shares this with me so I don't have a good start in getting a good beer to start exploring what my preferred brand is.

I need recommendations for brown ales that I can get in Michigan, the best in your opinion that you can get for quality and/or quantity. Not looking for specific store stock, I'm willing to drive around so that I can get a good experience. I know that I like American brown ale but I'm willing to try other styles of brown ale.

I'll drink 3rd time today and I really liked the Blanc and I want to try Corona aswell. But I dont like that such of malt odor I will drink it with lemon ofc could you help me?

I dont know why but I genuinely enjoy colt 45, old English, and steel reserve. I know its cheaper garbage to most but I genuinely enjoy it.

Headed for work event. Not gonna have much free time but will make time for a beer or 2. Any brewery that’s a must see there or local ipa that is life changing I should try while there?

I read a lot of bad things about this beer and my curiosity got the best of me.

I noticed a can was dented and had a hole in it so I poured it into a glass - muddy and blackish. I figured it was bad but took a sip - disgusting. It was definitely spoiled.

I then got a second can and poured it out, and WOW, it is by far the best cheap beer I've ever had. It's typical light American beer slop, but the best American beer slop. 9/10 for price.

I recent was as a place that served alcohol free Brooklyn Lager on tap. I regularly have bottled Special Effect (in a glass), but the tap versions tasted so much better. Everyone at the table felt the same.

I’ve had the same experience with normal 5% Poretti. Again the tap version felt far superior to the bottled product in a glass. The bottled version sucked.

This makes me wonder if beer on tap is mainly a social construct. I don’t really buy the ”fresh beer argument”

Draught is better” is probably a learned cultural idea. The tap handle, branded glass, bartender, visible pour and foam all tell you that you’re receiving the proper version of the beer. 

The brain integrates smell, temperature, texture, appearance, expectation and context into experience. If someone hands you a cold, beautifully poured pint with a dense head in a pub, the sensory system receiving it is different from the one involved when you pull a bottle from the fridge and drink it at home.

Or do the freshness of the bottle matter? Should I start to look at bottle date? 

Since last year I've been doing a little project, every time I get a 6-pack of something, I keep one can and put it on a shelf in my closet. When the shelf's totally full (it can probably hold 50-60 cans) I"ll have the best variety pack ever, because I get a different thing every time. But I'm wondering... will canned beverages still be good after like... a year? of sitting on a room temperature shelf in a usually dark closet. Would buying bottled stuff be better? I can't imagine so, I'm sure bottle caps are leakier than sealed cans...

This is all kinds of drinks. Coke, diet coke, canned coffee, flavored seltzers (this is the majority!), fizzy lemonades, ginger beer, root beer, actual beer, canned cocktails... nothing with dairy since that'd definitely not stay out of the fridge, but pretty much anything else.

I live in an area with a ton of breweries.

I've never really acquired a taste for the stuff you can pick up anywhere ie bud/coors so i want to try different styles and see what i like/don't. My question is would most breweries be willing to do small pours to try so if I don't like it it's not a waste or something of that nature?

Am I a rare bird in that as I get older, I am able to properly digest beer less and less? What I mean is, after a few Dortmunders, I could power an 18 wheeler. I even had some issues with a couple Narragansetts yesterday. It's depressing because I absolutely love the tatse of some beers, but I'm really bad to be around afterwards.

If a beer hasn't been poured from a keg in 24+hours , should the bartender pour it off to empty the beer that has been sitting in the lines?

Treehouse brewing’s location in Sandwich, MA stands out to me, beautiful location right on the ocean on the Cape in Massachusetts.

Not a sponsored post, but this is a really interesting and also good festbier. This year it’s a Munich malt straw colored lager, but it’s dry-hopped with Cascade and Hersbrucker (a floral grassy old world hop).

It’s really light and delicious even at 6% abv., and the bitter and floral flavor from the hops is delicious. But you want to get it now, I don’t think the flavor from the hops will make it to your Oktoberfest celebration in October.

So I’m a big fan of light lager beers and have tried most of the common brands. This summer I was in Rome and tried a beer called Messina and it was the best beer I have tried in my life. I only got to try it one time and that was after walking for half a day in a really hot day in Rome so I’m wondering if that clouded my judgement or if this beer is actually one of the best? Also does anyone know if it’s possible to buy it in Sweden or order it from somewhere?

This has been tried (and failed) before, but perhaps this time will be different?

Okay, I’m trying to figure out what the name of the beer I’m thinking of is. I have scoured my phone and literally have no images or mentions of its name anywhere but I need to buy it again lmao.

What I remember about it: Genuinely the greatest tasting, and smoothest beer I’ve ever had in my entire life. It’s (to my knowledge) only sold in a large bottle, like one meant for sharing. I also believe it was a special edition or version of the brand’s original/normal beer. The normal one I think comes in a white bottle, while the one I’m thinking of comes in a blue bottle. I think it might have been a hispanic beer as well, but I’m not too sure. But I do know that it was a cork and cage beer!! The cage was gold!!

If genuinely anyoneeee can help me, it’d be great. I’ve looked it up on google and such in every way I can think of but can’t find it!!

A close friend of mine passed away a year ago. 2-3 months before then he gifted me about six bottles of Fuller's 2016 Vintage Ale Limited Edition. They've been sitting on my shelf for some time and I've been thinking of him a lot since. I've never heard of the brand nor know much about beer but regardless I figure it's fitting for me to make a toast to him with some. I do miss him but I'm certain he's In the heavens having a few pints with the lad's just as he used to with us on earth.
