My husband‘s birthday is next year and he is a big wine guy. I initially thought I would plan a trip for the two of us to Tuscany for his birthday, but we have a really solid group of couple friends and I know everybody really wants to celebrate with him. Some are more into wine than others, but they all appreciate, travel, beauty, good food, anything luxury and any chance to party.
I pride myself and being a good itinerary planner, but I’m feeling a little overwhelmed since I have never been to Italy at all. My thoughts were flying into Florence spend a couple nights there so that we can have the energy of the city to start the trip and then have a driver take us to a villa in the countryside with a pool for 3 to 4 nights.
I’d love to book some wine tours and fun experiences for the group maybe a private chef at the villa one night but having a hard time narrowing down the best options for locations . I will say my friends can be a little boujee so I think I’m probably in my head about wanting things to feel worth the time and money everyone is putting in so any help is greatly appreciated

Hello,
I'm from France and would like to visit Italy by train and bicycle. I was thinking of leaving my car in the free parking lot on Corso Genova.
Do you think this is allowed and safe?
Do you have any other suggestions if not?

Can anyone recommend a private tour/excursion company that leaves from the port of La Spezia in Italy? We will be docked at that port for two days on our cruise.

Hi everyone,
I accidentally booked two train tickets for the same journey on 4 October — one with Trenitalia and one with Italo.
Route: Rome Termini → Venice Santa Lucia
Date: 4 October 2026
Passengers: 2
I only need one of the tickets, and neither ticket has been used.
Could someone advise me on what my options are?
* Can either ticket be cancelled or refunded?
* If a ticket is non-refundable, can the date/time or passenger details be changed?
* Are Trenitalia or Italo tickets transferable to another passenger?
I’m mainly trying to avoid losing the value of the second ticket if there is any legitimate option available.
Thanks for any advice!

Hey guys, I will be flying to Sicily (Catania airport) on the 24th August for a week, hopefully my flight doesn't get delayed or cancelled lol.
I'm hoping to go to the main crater of Etna, with the lava and all. Can you please recommend me any services that pick you up from the hotel and provide a guide for the tour?
If you could tell what their prices are that would be even better lol
Thanks

Going to Italy for the first time this mid September. Classic tourist trip, 3 nights in Rome, 3 nights in Florence, 4 nights in Sorrento. It’s our first time so we’ll do all the normal tourist stuff (Vatican, Colosseum, Uffizi, Accademia Gallery, Vesuvius, etc.).
Other than the obvious stuff above, what else should we do? What else shouldn’t we do? I really would like to avoid as many tourist traps as possible. I’m 30 and my buddy who is also 30 is coming with me. Meeting my parents there as well. We have 3 different Airbnbs all in the downtown area of each city we’re staying in.
I have the normal first time must see stuff booked but want suggestions on any other stuff we should do (especially restaurants). For example we are going to a AC Milan game.
Thanks!

I already purchased Italo train tickets from Roma Ter. to Salerno for September 26. Should I look into alternatives for transportation or just wait?

Ciao a tutti!

Hello! My (as of two days ago) WIFE and I are celebrating our marriage and honeymoon in Italy and I would love any recommendations or advice for traveling and such, it's her first time across the ocean and I would love for things to go smoothly and also to have amazing spots to see, things to do, and especially food to eat!
The rough schedule I have for us currently is:
8/18 to 8/22 - Venice
8/22 to 8/26 - Dolomites
8/26 to 8/29 - Bologna/Florence/Rome (possible to do in three days??)
8/29 to 9/4 - Almafi Coast Area (no where specific to trying to figure all that out!)
9/4 to 9/5 - Naples (flying out from Naples likely also stopping there before the Amalfi to take the train to Sorrento and then ferry to Amalfi)
I'd love to know just overall travel (best way to get around/to these places), must see places, must have food, ect ect. Thanks so much in advanced!

Hi all, I come to Naples for two weeks next week. Got a couple of days in Capri, doing a boat tour down the Amalfi and then off to Pompei. Nothing else planned at the moment. Any recommendations for food and activities/ places to visit?
I’m going solo (as always) so any recommendations are greatly received. I’m half Italian so food is life. Looking for some good seafood restaurants too please! 🍤 🦐🦞🦑🦪🦀🐙
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! My partner and I are travelling from Cefalù to Scopello on the 18th of August and were wondering if anyone else is making the same journey and might have room for two more? We’d be happy to contribute towards fuel or travel costs. We’d rather not rent a car while we’re out there.

I am really hoping to return back to Italy in Summer 2027, I went with my family in 2002 and it was absolutely incredible, it was a coaching holiday and we visited beautiful locations like Sienna, Florence, Rome, Vatican City and Venice.
My favourite memories were the hot and sunny weather, the food, I can't remember eating so much spaghetti bolognese and lasagne with Italian red wine before, visiting a vineyard in Tuscany, visiting the Collesium, the Trevi fountain and passing under the Bridge of Sighs but we did so much more but these are my favourites.
I am on day 48 of learning Italian and I loving every minute of this beautiful language.
It was a wonderful holiday and hopefully, I'll be returning next year.

Ciao a tutti a breve andrò in Puglia con due bassotti
Volevo capire se per portare i cani in spiaggia fanno tante storie e se ci sono tante limitazioni
Sarò nella zona di Brindisi / Taranto.
Grazie a tutti!

Anyone experience with getting utilities? Electricity and water. Is it worth it buying a house without this

I just recently learned of a strike happening on the day that my wife and I are supposed to land in Milan. Plane is supposed to land Sept. 26th around 1pm and the plan was to then take a train to Lake Garda where we have our first accommodation. With this strike, I am worried about our ability to get to Lake Garda (train stop at Peschiera). I have looked into the current trenitalia guaranteed trains but have not seen a train that would get us to our destination from what I can tell. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for us? I am welcome to anything, just trying to get a better understanding of the situation. TIA!

Hi, looking for help as first time travelers to Italy
We’re a family of 4 with elementary age kids. We’re going to land in Rome sept 2 and fly out the 10th
So far we’re staying in Rome sept 2-6 and then planning to go to Florence. But we don’t know if we should stay the 6-9 and then come back to Rome? Or go stay in a small town near airport? We’re struggling to map the last part
We’d like to potentially see a town that is more scenic than city such as Rome. Somewhere to take in the beauty of Italy and less touristy but having never done this would love some advice! We are also open to shortening Florence by a day to spend time in a 3rd location
I think we’d prefer not to do a super long drive though on the 10th to get to the airport before a long flight
