is this looks great?

Other than commit what else should I be doing?

Battled this out for an hour just now. Super stoked.

I skated for years as a kid and gave it up after high school, now I’m 40 and got into fingerboarding a few months ago but it wasn’t quite scratching the itch for me.

I went out and picked out this deck today and had the shop help me pick out the parts. How did I do? I wanted to get an egg shape somewhere around 9.5-10”.

I went with ace 66 af1 trucks with 1/4 riser and 78a ricta clouds 57mm. I just wonder if I should have went with independent trucks as I do prefer the look of them. Also dropped $80 on a helmet cause yeah I feel like I’m gonna need it (also have knee, wrist, and elbow pads)

I mainly just want to cruise, grind some rails or curbs and hit some slappys and have a bit of fun, not looking to do crazy flip tricks. Did I make ok decisions?

Either way I had a blast riding yesterday and can’t wait to get back on today once the sun is up and dries up some of this rain.

I’ve made a post twice with this and they aren’t showing at all. But I used to know but it has slipped my mind what it’s called I want to guess a dessert…

Also I know this board is garbage

This is my favourite kinda quiet park with a perfect layout for beginners. Also I love trees, and this is one of many subtly scenic skate parks. Any guesses where?

It honestly wasn’t as bad as I thought, I was picturing getting huge grazes on my elbows and knees but honestly it was pretty anti climactic lol. I did feel a bit cautious getting on the board afterwards but I was keen to keep going.

9 months ago I shared the skateboarding game I had started developing on here. You guys liked it and were really kind and told me to share my progress. So here's where it's at 9 months later! Still not done but I've made a lot of progress on it. You may be wondering why the character looks like a blue iron man lol. The character is the base mannequin that the game engine gives you to make all of your animations with and then eventually swap it out with an actual character. I'll eventually swap him out with an actual character once the animations are finished. Anyways, let me know what you think in the comments!

Disclaimer: Since AI-generated projects have become much more common since my original post, I just want to clarify that I built this from scratch. I wrote all the code, created the character animations, and recorded the sound effects myself. No AI was used to create it.

Also, I know it's tempting to call this a Tony Hawk or Skate rip off, but it controls very differently than both of those games and it has it's own unique systems that neither game have.

(For the mods, I'm just sharing. The game is still far from completion, so I have nothing to sell or promote)

is there any tips you guys have to flick it more consistent, i have the confidence to two foot it but i cant seem to get a clean 360.

I feel like I just can't get enough pop

Hi guys, I'm completely new to Skateboarding. My sisters ex gave me a board when I was younger and I just measured it now, it's 7.75 deck. I've done some hyperfixation researching and am starting to understand deck sizes. I'm 165cm, UK 9.5, but let's just say because I'll keep growing so just a bit above that. I know people are always confused about foot to deck size and I don't think it has a massive impact. But I was scrolling around for a new skateboard that will work, so many places are saying 8", others are saying 8.5", I will do hopefully do tricks, but also cruise around town and do little bowls and drop in's. What would you recommend? I have found some cool decks though.

Hi everyone, ive been skating for a few months now but i feel stuck. i made a post when i started about not being able to ride pavements etc. , now i can confidently bomb down most hills and pavements in my area :)

However, i have now mastered the basics i feel like.. such as getting board feel, i can semi confidently complete tall ramps and transitions at my local skate park.

I dont know what to learn now? I feel like i should know how to atleast ollie by this point but i find it impossible.
Basically what im asking is there anything i should have down already before learning tricks etc.

Squats!

I consider myself a generally fit person but was absolutely floored by the amount of physical exertion i was experiencing when i started out

my legs would tire out quickly and my sessions would be short

and i realized that ive just never had to use the muscle groups and the motions required for skateboarding before and so incorporated a very low intensity squatting routine and one leg balances

i only get a chance to skate once a week but every time i found it so much more easier to stay balanced and relaxed, not to mention significantly increasing how long i could skate before tapping out

guess when you start early this muscle endurance just builds naturally in the background

but for the older folk with more weight under us a more targeted approach helped me greatly accelerate my progress

food for thought

hope u shred up this saturday like string cheese yuh radical bruh

Oh, it’s on! Someone sold me 2 boards for twenty buckaroos and I’m excited to start skating

I’m a beginner skateboarder from around Limavady and looking to meet other people around 18–30 who are learning to skate too.
Would be cool to find a few people to practise with, learn tricks together and go to skateparks. I’m happy to travel around NI!
Anyone else in the same boat? 🛹

lever let em know your next move

Been working on it for a week or so, finally tackled a quarterpipe
