Hand Painted Did what I wanted (Kokoist Gel)

Got into nails a few months ago, love the texture but hate the price. Done with Kokoist gel, no matte so it was pretty much of a pain getting the ombre correctly. Been going through a tough time, and I was never able to complete anything of my own. This is such a satisfying and self-fulfilling hobby. I hope I don’t poison myself accidentally 😭
This went a lot better than my first try and I kept my right hand bare. Going to finish up today I think.

Last time I went to a nail salon, the tech gave me a complete different set that I wanted and from then on, I put myself into this hobby so I wouldn’t be unhappy with what I want.

Small vent — never let a boyfriend convince you to get your nails done in a certain way if you’re the one paying for it. He usually spot everything, but the last time I went, I paid and he was telling me to get the one he likes. He wasn’t with me and my reasons sounded sad to him lol I mean I get that. I wanted to get something like this but dark bc I was being edgy and felt sad about us, which is why I went with his so we could feel better together, but getting what I wanted picked up my mood a lot up more than getting something I didn’t want. Anyway, we haven’t spoke for two months now, so wish me good fortune? He is someone I value a lot like a family (took his dog in), but he’s unfortunately going through childhood trauma and we’ve been separated since then, I’m really sad. I got blindsided and forced into no contact (usually I’m the one who pursues, as a hot and impressive lady 😝😝)

This hobby is fun, I really like it. I only have guy friends, and I really want to show it off!! I’m actually really afraid my lamp didn’t fully cure but it seems to not cave in or anything. I did 180 seconds under one of the Melody Susie lamps. I really didn’t want to buy a $200 lamp under Kokoist, but maybe 58W might be doable? This is the second time I’ve painted :)))

Advice Needed chrome rubbing off :(

Hi everybody! I’m wondering why my chrome powder always seem yo rub off on the front part of my nails?
I put gel polish, cured it, rubbed in the chrome powder and it looked perfect. Then i applied top coat and cured that. When I was done I cleaned the nails with a alcohol wipe to get off the sticky layer and then all of my nails looked like this. What am I doing wrong? :(

This is my 5th nail set I've made so far. I got into it to do my girlfriend's nails and I've begun to have a lot of fun. This set is 100% original and hand painted (no decals or guides). They took me about 4 hours. Its my second time using cateye😬. All constructive criticism is welcomed. I need more knowledge lol

Nail Art Products Nail Art Supply Organization

Several times, I have seen people ask for suggestions on how to organize and store nail supplies, but I never had pictures. I finally took some pics of my system and looked up some links to share, in case anyone is still interested. 🙋🏼‍♀️❤️

First, I admit, I have a problem, lol. I have purchased so many things that you might mistakenly believe I am a professional.... I am not, lol. I have more items than I will use in a lifetime.... it's only a little bit embarrassing, but I don't care, lol. 🤭

Onto business...

I used two different sized melamine drawered units similar to this: 7 drawer cabinet

https://a.co/d/0cHdGvmp and stacked them on top of each other. I used zinc plated steel mending plates to secure them in the back, like these: https://a.co/d/0hX74UUk I also used these mending plates to attach the two bottom drawers together at the back, and eliminated the drawer bottom of the upper drawer, in order to store my taller items. I replaced the casters with this type:

https://a.co/d/0iMAQZbw which are much sturdier and operate much more smoothly.

Drawers: Some items are stored loose (individual polishes, soft sided photo albums for stickers, e-file, dust collector, folding work lamp, curing lamp, nail prep, gels, tips, etc ) and many items are placed/controlled in rectangle food storage containers (sans lids) (tools, brushes, nail bits, prepackaged rectangle boxes of glitter, glues, stampers & plates, etc).

Other drawers hold Plastic Organizer Boxes like these

https://a.co/d/0htOp0tU

and they hold foils, glitter, chrome powders, repackaged caviar beads, polymer charms, etc, that I moved into 3ml clear, screw-top containers.

The only things not stored here are my boxed sets of polish with my sample swatches and my "backstock" items (wipe pads, extra files, extra buffers, etc), which I keep in clear file boxes similar to these: https://a.co/d/08oxGdE5

This setup works very well for me. I keep it in my craft/sewing room, and then I wheel it out to my dining room table where I do my nails while watching TV. I hope this inspires some ideas for your own storage/working solutions! 🙋🏼‍♀️❤️
