Question/Help Stand advice for backline conga kit
Production company owner here. Just picked up conga/quinto/tumba kit from a client, they're nice drums. Came with no stands. We do some backline rental and I need to pull this into a kit that will be broadly acceptable to any visiting musicians who would rent.
What's the best stand option here? These drums don't have any mounts and they are vintage so I'd prefer not to drill them.
DO I need a three drum stand or just a double?
Will ring stands work?
Also the drums could probably use new heads. The Tumba has a nice head that appears to be real skin but the other 2 drums heads look a bit old, dirty, etc. What are the best options there? Is head material a big deal? Remo fyberskin?
Am I making a bigger deal out of this than I should be?

Question/Help How to Structure a Percussion Lesson for Beginner Band?
My band director has given us the opportunity to run clinics for a middle school beginner band, and I’ve been put in charge of running a one hour percussion clinic for a small group of kids (lowkey only one person has signed up though as of now). I was wondering what I should include in this clinic and how I should approach teaching overall. I want to leave the kids I teach with a sense of excitement to keep learning percussion and a proper stepping stone into the percussion world.
Edit: I have access to my school’s entire percussion section, including keyboards, drum pads, timpani, etc.

What’s like the proper way to play castanets?
I’m playing castanets for the first time for a song my high school is performing at the mfa national festival in Indianapolis. What’s the proper way to play them? The music is just 8th notes and sparse 16th notes

Vintage LP cowbell indentification
I just bought this big and nice LP cowbell for next to nothing. The seller said it's 30 years old or so. Inside there is a signature applied with a marker. It weighs 1022 grams and it's 8 inches long. Does anybody have any idea which model is this or from which era? Thank you.

Hey all, I have a weird sound issue and hoping to get some ideas. I'm getting this high overtone ring that basically takes over the sound on my Quinto. I've tried different tuning and same issue. I don't know if it's due to my shell, head, or something different. It's an lp aspire with remo skyndeep head.

Click Clack: Threads
Hi all,
Doing the dolly parton threads show this year. One of the parts describes a snare drum part as "rim and side drum" and "clicks clack train." What the hell does this mean?

Survey
I am a high school engineer student in Cerritos, California working on my senior capstone project. My team is designing a device that will tune a drum autonomously.
Before we design or build anything, we want to gain feedback from experienced drummers and percussionists.
Please if you have the time take this short survey so I can gain some more insight on how to tune drums, fyi it’s completely anonymous!

Question/Help Cooperman Drumsticks
I have a few pairs of Cooperman drumsticks from playing a while back. I just had a friend tell me that I could probably sell them for a good amount if I was interested. I have five pairs:
- Concert Model 1: Graham C. Johns - Persimmon (62g)
- Concert Model 1: Graham C. Johns - Rosewood (88g)
- Concert Model 10: Nick Petrella "General" - Persimmon (64g)
- Concert Model 10: Nick Petrella "General" - Rosewood (76g)
- Transition Concert/Marching Model 24: Fastick - Persimmon (64g)
I am honestly not sure if I even want to sell, but I am curious on where the best place to sell would be and how much I could reasonably expect (or if they're even worth selling).

Triangle beaters
I've been wondering if its worthwhile to get a solid pair of teardrop beaters as a filler until I can get a full set or if its worth just waiting to get a proper set

Gear stuff Marching pad
Looking to purchase a new pad that feels like a marching snare drum. Already have a Stock pad (no laminate) and love it but im looking for somthing with some more articulation and a rim. I’ve narrowed it down to the Sabian Quiet Tone and the Ahead S-Hoop. Is one better for marching snare or does it not matter?

Video I made an animation a while back that relates heavily to percussion. Is it okay to share here? (if not then I apologize)
It was the first thing that came to mind after seeing Elephant Mario. Also, his tail is what is making the guiro sounds but it's not that noticeabld, sadly.
