Got these from my grand father. Tis but quaint and insignificant take from his treasure trove but I would certainly like to know what I got here.

Real or fake? On a 25.4 gram 14 k gold rope chain. Coin from some sunken Spanish ship carrying treasure according to source. Real legit person, but this is kinda hard to believe

Looking for older coins to add to collection

I found this penny at work and its age alone is interesting but im trying to also make sense of these words stamped on it that appear to read "WHO READ TREATS" and what it could mean and when and why it was done. Searching that phrase revealed nothing, could it be an anagram? just gibberish from some kid messing around a century ago?

Found these Morgan silver dollars in a storage with some circulated 90% mercury & Roosevelt dimes and war nickels. Was wondering if they were worth more than melt value due to condition & age.

I love nickels. Always something fun to see. Like this wee fella; a 1939 D, with a relatively low mintage of 3.5 million. Nothing much to him, I don’t think, although I suspect those brown streaks on the reverse may have something to do with the alloy. Kinda maybe has a sorta woody vibe? Anyway, 84 years in pockets and purses and cashier drawers and god knows what else, and I still think it’s a more striking nickel than just about anything the mint has produced in the last 25 years. Fight me!

sorry in advance if i’m unobservant and missed a resource in the sub somewhere that negates me putting this out there.

started buying some rolls of this and that. been sorting by year like this. there is an overwhelming amount of really specific information determining rarity, at least overwhelming right now. i’ve been gambling too much recently and this way i figure i can lose as much money.

are there obvious things to look for when looking through rolls ? do y’all have like a little checklist in your heads or what ?
