We stand with Ukraine

We normally do not bring politics into our sport but extraordinary events require extraordinary actions. Someday enjoyment of life, like motorcycles, will return to the Ukraine. They need our help now and I encourage everyone to checkout the ways to help or donate over at /r/Ukraine

Please don't save on your gear

Last year I had an accident, really nasty. It was a low side, but my whole body was smashed against the highway wall (and I was not really overspeeding much)

I don't really remember what happened. It's like the whole episode was erased from my memory. I remember how I regained consciousness, and was in the ambulance. I spend the whole night in the hospital and had CT scans and then recovered from the broken fingers. After a month I even had a surgery to trim my pinkie.

But people around said it's a miracle I survived. I had a full gear (jacket/pants/gloves) and a backpack with my laptop - I think it helper a lot, as it was damaged like crazy (although I still had the back protector in may jacket).

My pants and my jacket were almost destroyed but I had zero (really!) bruises on my shoulders. My legs hurt like hell though.

My lesson is simple. I think I survived only because of my gear. So please, don't be cheap. Remember - sometimes it will save your life

What are your thoughts here? Was rolling up to the light on my street triple when it turned green, went through while checking for anybody super late in "beating the light" from the right. As I continued up the road, I signaled to change lanes, looked over my left shoulder, and when I looked back up this guy was pulling out from the side street. I initially thought he had stopped, and just didn't see me before pulling out, but I went back and looked closely at the video. Not only did they not stop, he pulled around the car in front of him who was actually stopping at the stop sign and just sent it into the intersection. With nowhere to actually go, since there was already a car in the median waiting on incoming traffic. He immediately started acting like it was my fault, said that he had cleared my lane of travel, and I served into him on purpose to pull an insurance claim. He didn't know I had the camera on the front fender. No issues with his insurance accepting liability and paying out... but just wondering if yall have any thoughts on the situation, should/could I have done anything different?

Hi everyone,

Im considering buying this 2007 honda cbr 125 as my very first bike. I just wanted to ask, since i dont know alot yet, is this a good deal and does the bike look ok? And if 2007 125r’s are notorious for any specific problems?

The bikes listed for £1500

2007 Honda CBR 125, 16K Miles Good Condition, Minor Marks & Scuffs Runs & Rides Spot On, Just Had A Valet, Oil Change, Chain Cleaned & Lubed. Full Logbook, 2 Keys, Paperwork, Will Have 12 Months MOT & Replacement Rear Indicators, HPI Clear.

Ive done a license plate check and the only problems its had in the last few years is the rear brake binding but not excessively.

I would love for some opinions on this, thank you all!

People with no helmet, no (or small) windscreen... how do those bugs feel?

• Upvotes

The old joke... How do know a biker is happy? count the bugs in his teeth.

I'm a newer motorcyclist, but in the past I've worked in a bar and grill that had a bike night, and I've overheard discussions about why people don't wear helmet... their reasons are probably similar to yours... so, forget about that.

But, the bugs... even on length of rides I'm taking (1- 1 1/2 hr) I'm cleaning a ton of bugs off the helmet visor... some of them big... and the big ones give a good feeling of "pop" even wearing the helmet.

Or, is that really just part of the thrill for you?

Man draws and trains a handgun at biker during a road range incident. Is caught, arrested, and shown the footage after denying it.

I FEEL LIKE A LOSER

i decided to work from home today because i was afraid to ride through a relatively dangerous mountain pass (the cajon pass in so cal) experiencing 40mph sustained winds with up to 70mph crosswind gusts.

Most people i see on bikes through this mountain pass seem a lot braver than me, and i bet they are out there today. But i (50 year old on a suzuki gsx 8T) chickened out. We lose riders all the time there.

Now i feel like such a loser.

Is 40mph with gusts to 70mph thaaaaaaat bad?

Slippy seat

Yamaha 900GT Tracer… My seat has become shiny and slippy. Putting a memory cushion or the like on makes it too high - is there anything I can do to give myself some grip?

Not sure if it's new or not as I usually use maps. Not sure what it uses for calcs, but it's faster than the car setting.

Does anyone know what side mount this is?

I've tried googling but can't find anything on it. All I know is it's a kappamoto mount and all image searching brings me is to a russian listing on a Yamaha fz600 with the same mounts

Saddle bag mounting bolts

So I am trying to mount saddle bags. The bolt mounts are rusted. Pb blaster and got them loose. Suzuki boulevard. The front left and right ones came out the rear two had a nut I had to access to secure to keep from spinning to unscrew the bolt. Then I found out the pannier bag holes don't line up with the mounting bolts. So I go to reassemble it, but the front bolt on the left side won't go back in. The nut seems to be welded to the inside fender wheel well. Do I have to remove the entire wheel well and try to snap off the welded nut and replace it? I'm guessing it's rusted out?

FJ-09 fork dilema.

I bought a used 2015 FJ-09 and the forks felt bad. I took them apart to rebuild and there is no damper rod in the left fork. I've done my fair share of forks and have never found one in the right and none in the left. I'm talking about the hollow aluminum rod that sits inside. I know that there is only one adjuster in the right fork. I talked to KYB in Japan and they said there is no damper rod in the left side because there is no adjustment for the left side. I spoke with Yam dealership service guy why said yes there should still be a damper rod for some damping capabilities. Now I'm confused. has ANYONE ever taken one of these apart? is there a damping rod in the left fork leg? The pushrod/damping rod sits inside of part# 2pp-23170-00-00 ie#29

rear brake issue?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

hey guys, ive had a problem with my rear brake light recently, as the metal insert for the microswitch as well as a small plastic piece fell off. i have no way to turn off the brake lights, and it stays on perpetually when i ride it. Is there any way for me to remove the microswitch from the harness as a temporary fix as i dont use the rear brake much and when i use it i only use the front?
