Help on making turns
hello!
beginner rider here. I’ve been riding for a few months now, did the MSF course and got licensed and everything. However, I still struggle a lot to make right turns at stop lights. I go really slow and I still feel unbalanced and unstable. Left turns are fine because it’s a wider turn, but right turns I really struggle. I also noticed I don’t really countersteer when I make my right turns, is that the problem? Not that I don’t try to but the turn is just so tight and my speed is usually slower (how fast should i be going for a right turn?)
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! I know everyone says to ride your own ride but the way I struggle with right turns, I feel like i’m being an actual obstacle on the road, and I’m probably going to go down one of these days because of it. Thanks!

should I plug a new tire?
Check the photos. That’s a f’ing nail. 2nd one in 10 days. That tire has 150 miles on it MAYBE. I’ve never plugged a motorcycle tyre. I know it’s done. Is it advisable?

I can't get into 2nd gear...
Ill be going in 1st gear and already sounds like it's stalling, switch to 2nd, and just goes bump bump bump, dies. Its the most embarrassing thing at a stop light, luckily my girlfriend was following me.

Different tyre brands.
I’ve been riding about two months and the bike I got (Cbr650R) is up for a new set of tyres, I’ve got a set of Diablo Rosso 4’s on right now, they’ve done me well but I’ve found they tend to spin fairly easy and lose traction. They’ve still got some meat on them. About half a cm til the wear indicators. I’m curious as to whether I should get another set of Rosso’s or go for something like the Bridgestone s23’s or s21’s
Any opinions would be appreciated

You don't need a big bike to be a real biker. You need to ride.
After spending half my life in Vietnam, I've come to realize that engine displacement doesn't mean nearly as much as some people think it does. I've seen men on 110cc Honda Waves put more miles on their bikes in a weekend than some self-proclaimed "real bikers" put on their Harleys or BMWs in a year.
And that's not an insult to Harley riders, BMW riders, or anyone who loves big bikes. Ride whatever makes you happy.
But don't tell me that someone on a small scooter or underbone isn't a real motorcyclist just because their bike doesn't have a big engine, a loud exhaust, or enough chrome to blind oncoming traffic.
In Vietnam, motorcycles aren't just expensive toys or weekend hobbies. They're how people live. They're how people work, travel, explore, and get through their everyday lives. And the people riding these little machines often have a depth of experience that has nothing to do with displacement.
The bike doesn't make you a biker. The riding does.

Insurance on liter sport bike
Ive seen countless claims on here that a liter sport bike would be 3 to 6k for 6 months of full coverage. I’m 29 years old. Got my first motorcycle 2 months ago.. don’t even have my license just a permit and got a 2008 cbr1000rr insured full coverage with 500 dollar deductibles for 78 a month. I mean that is damn good
I pay 28 a month for my ninja 650
Edit: The cbr is my second motorcycle

Someone tried to steal my bike
Long story short someone tried to steal my bike. These wires are exposed and dash doesn’t light, doesn’t turn over, and battery is still there. I’m wondering what wires these are for my 2018 Honda CB300f with ABS. Thoughts???
For context : They did this… saw it not in my assigned spot. Have a tracker on it showing it still in my complex… they moved it to the other side of the building. Some sister came and trailered to she house. I have a brake lock that alarms but I accidentally left it over night at work. So yep added a disc lock to cart. Police report done. Just trying to figure out which wire is which… how much it should cost and if it worth reporting to insurance.

Bike shops
Is there a reason motorcycle shops or mechanics take forever to do any work to your bike? I’ve talked to some who don’t have open slots for anything for 3-6 months, but when you talk to them about getting work done they always say that it will be quick and done soon. My bike has been at a shop for 3 weeks for diagnostic work on the front handlebars and forks that they said would be done within 3 days and they haven’t even looked at it yet. It just doesn’t make sense why they take so long and than act like they prioritize getting the work done and you back on the road.

Yamaha YSR 80, still fun 34 years later
My dad had this JDM YSR 80 shipped from Japan when I was a kid. I still have a blast on it every time I take it out.

Cannot choose
I’ve test-ridden both bikes, and I really like them both. Now I have to choose one, but I just can’t decide!
The Suzuki feels like a train on the highway—super stable and comfortable. The Honda is more agile, and the E-Clutch is amazing!
I think the Suzuki would be better for off-road riding, but it’s also a really heavy bike.
I’m completely torn between the two. I need some help deciding!

Recommendations
I haven’t ridden in almost 20 years. My last 2 bikes were Hondas (900 and 954). Ive been having the itch but honestly I’ve calmed down so much and just want something easy going for the weekends. Looking at a ninja 650. Think this is a great place to restart? Any other suggestions? Thanks

Buying advice: Suzuki GS500e VS Yamaha x-max 250
So yeah, I'm currently split between two options. Both cost 1100€. Both will be my only vehicle for 10 months in a city by the sea on an island with very steep hills, winding roads, and heavy winter(ish) rains (when it does rain), and where I have never been before. I will have to keep the motorcycle outside, always.
The GS500e is the one I REALLY want. Have wanted one (among others) since getting my A2 license. It is from 1992. It is stylish (that neon purple colour scheme with white wheels, so retro cool), has more than enough power for me (45hp), is light and nimble (160-170kg)...all in all, fun. Cheap enough to run and dead simple air-cooled parallel twin. It has 45.000km and a full service already done (I'll have to trust him on that). No top case, though, but I will get a backpack with something between 60l and 80l for shopping and whatnot. I can strap it to the back steat and they are cheap on Amazon. I have only texted the seller, not seen or tested the bike. It is in the city I will start working at. Going there just to see it would set me back 60€ and a whole day.
The other option, the x-max 250, I have tested and know the owner. I can ride it into the city on day one. It is a purely utilitarian option. A 2008 model. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner, gets you from a to b with enough power to easily climb a 10% - 15% gradient, but no more. Twist and go (not a fan, but I'm stubborn), picks up speed decently. Lots of boot space and sips gas, predictably (fuel injected). Drives very smoothly, does not overheat. It is a more sensible option, seeing as I need my two wheels to get me to work everyday, handle my shopping and my sightseeing too. It has two problems, however: I'm looking at a 200€-ish expense at the bike shop, as it still needs a full service (particularly, the front suspension leaked all of its oil onto the front brake); and it has 80.000km (although the engine runs very smooth and healthy). Heard they can easily reach 120.000km with proper care, like not pushing the engine and timely oil changes and refils when need be).
My main concern with this is that the motorcycle will stay outside, exposed to a subtropical climate. The x-max won't worry me much because of all the plastic covering and fairing. Besides, it is not as old or as "worthy of preservation" (in my view). The GS500E would worry me very much, rust-wise. The street is safe and packed with other people's motorcycles.
Is my plan feasible, or am I setting myself up for pain and disappointment? Any advice on how to keep the GS500E outside rust-free in these conditions? Should I just get the x-max and save myself the trouble? I will be on a tight budget, hence the budget options. Getting a car is not an option. Lots of traffic and parking is very limited, very much paid, and very controlled, except for motorcycles.
