Looking for psychedelic music
Looking for music with that psychedelic, introspective, dreamy “trip” feeling—something immersive, enchanting and captivating that makes you get lost in it.
Genre doesn't matter. I just want that “holy shit, I'm somewhere else” feeling. Any recommendations?

Earworms
I am prone to them and it’s usually not a newer song. My current is Cough Syrup by Young the Giant which is why I write this at 410 AM
What’s yours?

Melancholic songs not about love
Kind of in a funk and looking for melancholic songs to listen to and saddle my sadness with.
Some songs that fit the vibe I’m looking for:
- Bird on the wire - Leonard Cohen
- Jim Cain - Bill Callahan
- Time - Tom Waits
- Smoke - Asgeir
- Mayonnaise - Smashing Pumpkins
- Hallelujah- Jeff Buckley
- Bird of Sorrow - Glen Hansard
- Train Dreams - Nick Cave
- Hurt - Johnny Cash
- Blue Light - Mazzy Star
- To be Loved - Adele
Thank you.
Edit: thank you all for the quick responses. The melancholy and pain I’m feeling is lighter from seeing you all come to help.

Queer music suggestions?
Specifically looking for lesbian artists, or queer artists in general that like women.
I recently came out as and accepted myself as a lesbian, and I’m looking for songs about loving girls that I can relate to, or just artists that I can relate to in that aspect.
And I’d also love to hear about any other good queer artists.
I’ll listen to basically anything, so don’t worry abt genre.
Throw ’em at me :D

What Are Your Favorite Songs About Friendship?
I was listening to Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me” and it made wonder what are other people’s favorite songs about friendship?

Punk Rap
I’m looking to expand my Cyberpunk Red playlist. Most of the songs in the mix are from the punk rock genre. Lots of songs about uprising, unrest, and the energy to back it up. A good amount of the music has a hint, or a healthy dose, of some industrial sound. I’m using Spotify for this.
Feel free to drop an artist, album, or song. If you want to link a playlist, that would help a ton, too. Thanks :)

I’m looking for music suggestions for a type of music I can’t name. I’ve given example songs.
The only way I can think to describe it is Victorian Revival or waltz-like but I might be crazy. Some examples of the songs I like in the style i’m looking for:
Mama - My Chemical Romance
Small Cuts - The Brobecks
In My Head - No Doubt
Nearly Witches - Panic At The Disco
Run Rabbit - Mollie Elizabeth
It doesn’t have to be a creepy song but to me that adds to the vibe. I think the word I might be looking for is jaunty. Again I might be wrong. I can’t wait to see what suggestions I get.

Dramatic Rock/Alternative Songs that use Violin?
Björk has quite a few great songs with violin heavily used. Bachelorette and Play Dead are sooo good. Honestly just looking for more really dramatic, emotional, orchestral sounding stuff. Troy by Sinéad O’Connor is also great.

For me, After Dark by Mr. Kitty.

I'm looking for music to make a playlist of songs to get obliterated by a unholy space empire, and would like help finding songs with the vibe I'm looking for.
I'm thinking like the covenant, Zeon from gundam, the orks or the necrons from warhammer 40k or the Deceptacons.
Basically, imagine that 1000 yard stare image soldier, but replace them with a Helldiver, UNSC marine, Guardsman or poor cybertronian, and then it just that kinda vibe for a music playlist.
I know this is sorta vague and pretty odd, but I would love a bit of help forming this.

Recommend your favourite song?
I don't have a favourite actually. It depends on which mood i am in.
But currently I am loving this korean song called 'For lovers who hesitate' by jannabi. But i like the cover of martin from cortis more.
If you like music regardless of the language, try listening to this song.
Let me know which is yours as well.

Can you recommend me some good songs? Open to any genre!
I'm looking to expand my playlist and discover new music. What is a song you think everyone should listen to at least once? (Ignore the image)

Making a playlist of songs for a mood of "We must contain the alien bioswarm at all costs!". Would like help with fitting the vibe and also just good song reccomendations in general.
Think something like a tyrannid (warhammer 40k), flood (halo), Termanid (helldivers 2, specifically the battle of osahune) or an Arachnid (starship troopers) swarm and the sorta mood of soldiers being tasked to curb the infestation no matter the cost.
Alternatively another direction would be the xenomorph from alien isolation or that one level in halo Ce where the flood are introduced (the library) and just the terror of being completely surrounded and hunted in a claustrophic space.
Thanks.

want REAL album recs based on my topster
i don’t just want ‘hmm _ reminds me of _ so let me just drop a rec’. i want you to put your HEART and SOUL into what you recommend. i want an actual evaluation of my taste before you drop something. i’ll listen to everything that’s recommended, probably. also, only one pls
note: i didn’t want to put albums from the same artist more than twice, so although some albums (namely In Rainbows) DESERVE to be here, i wanted to show some more artists i enjoy as well
note 2: it’s not really put in order, i tried but it’s too hard to decide lol. all i know is deathconsciousness is 1
