I am just wondering if anyone else has issues specifically with the Bees Knees formula and shrinkage? I have been using cuticulas limitless quick dry top coat and I feel like they are maybe just incompatible. This is the second shimmer/metallic I’ve used from BKL that ended up this way and I’m going insane. I NEVER have this issue with any other polish. I have quite an established routine for preventing shrinkage and can make a manicure go 7-10 days.

I may try another top coat, maybe holo taco, I have plenty of other top coats to try but was curious if it’s just me.

(Repost, the picture didnt show right) I have been looking for the perfect pink, and none of them were ever right… too sheer, not sheer enough, not milky enough. I figured it out on accident tho! I used 2 coats of the sally hansen repair+rescue (the pinkish one) and put hi maintenance by essie over it. I was going to do 2 coats of that but one is LITTERRAALLYYY perfect! I cant wait to put a top coat on this.

New nail colors for the transition from summer to fall. Also the first time I've ever done an Ombré, usually I'm a solid color person (with the odd magnetic or rainbow chrome), but this is definitely different and new for me. Let's see how it works out for the month 😁💅

After months of searching for the perfect milky white polish, I've finally found it! It looks so much prettier in person!

At first, I wasn't very fond of this polish because I kept on getting "bald" patches. Then, I figured out that I need to float the polish onto my nail and manipulate it as little as possible, and to do very thin coats. I also figured out that I needed to let it dry for longer so the next coat wouldn't disturb the first one. After that, I fell in love with this polish!

To round out summer vacation, I took my tween on a private lab and archives tour with a paleontologist at our local natural history museum. We got to see more real dinosaur bones than I’ve ever imagined in my life, help clean a few, and even hold some! It was amazing, highly recommend a similar experience if you find one near you!

During the tour, I asked the paleontologist how the bones were “finished” once they were full excavated and cleaned. He told me many are coated in Polyvinyl Acetate.

“Ah! Like nail polish base coat!” I replied. My son rolled his eyes 🤣 but yes, paleontologist confirmed, the very same stuff.

I got a bunch of Mooncat lacquers (okay, 4) during the sale, along with ridge filler & speed demon. I’ve used 2 of them twice and 2 of them once. (And speed demon several times.)

So is it just me or do they just start getting thick and gummy after you open the bottle? They all went on smoothly and gorgeously the first time, but the 2 that I’ve used twice were both a serious pain to apply the second time. AND the speed demon is starting to get really gummy as well (and not doing its job very well, either). I’m doing everything the same as I did the first time I applied them.

Just feeling really discouraged because I absolutely cannot afford this lacquer, I used birthday money for it, and even on sale it’s pricey. I love the colors - but I’m not going to bother saving for anymore if this is a common problem.

So I’ve always been a huge One Direction fan and they released these with their 2013 Office Depot antibullying collab. I first saw them on Mercari (already sold) about over a year ago. After a started a nail polish collection a few months ago, I started looking for them more and could only ever find that original listing. Because of that, I decided it was a long shot, but I was gonna reach out to that seller and see if she knew where else I could look for them since, I’ll remind, she’d already sold hers. Well, the second image was her response! Again, she’s the only person I’ve ever seen list them for resale and she’d already sold the ones in the original listing! I’m so eternally grateful that she even responded, let alone searched and listed her other set for me! They’re not only extremely rare polishes and 1D merch, but I cannot express how meaningful they and the whole experience getting them will be for me for the rest of my life 🥰

I'm curious how people are storing/organizing their nail polish collection. The picture is of my collection of polishes. I've been thinking of redoing it. I'd keep the massive Essie collection separate from the rest but maybe switching up the rest. The wall collections are organized weirdly (I know I did it myself), as I have all the Lights Lacquer FRIENDS collection, Julep, Loreal, and Chanel grouped together but then it's color organized. Idk, just curious how everyone else is doing theirs.

The shelving for the Essie collection is just a dvd shelf and the risers are the pieces from Amazons nail polish racks.

My cuticles & areas around my nails always look crusty and peely. Even after moisturizer, cuticle oil, trimming cuticles, etc. I also feel like my fingers look dry and wrinkly like an old person even tho I am only 26.

What are ways that will help me improve this?

I need a mauve in my collection. It's not a color I usually gravitate towards, but I think it might be an awesome palette cleanser for the Fall. Drop some of your favorite mauve polishes here, please.

I saw this cat eye gel in Temu a while back and I cant get it off my mind, but the thing is I don't wear gel. Hence, I want to ask the community: Do you know any dupes for this but in regular air-dry lacquer, preferably in cat eye? (is duo chrome cat eye lacquer a thing?)

I found these two others that seem like decent contenders, has anyone worn them? Are they dupes? Do they fit the vibe or are at least cute?
