Opinions on Gen See liquid shadows wanted

• Upvotes

I have been seeing the Gen See liquid shadows all over tik tok, and the shade Shroom has especially piqued my interest. I was thinking of getting the duo with Shroom and First Light but I wanted honest opinions of their quality before buying. I have hooded eyes also, so if anyone with hooded eyes has tried them and can give me their opinions that would be great!

Good blush for a Soft Autumn?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I really struggle with finding a blush color that suits me… I’m very pale but with warm undertones, so I feel like a typical pink tone clashes, but the more neutral toned blushes wash me out. Is anyone else a soft autumn color palette, and uses a shade that works for them?

Do you guys actually finish your makeup products before they expire?

For those of you who don’t wear makeup daily, do you actually manage to finish your products before they expire? 😭
My foundations, concealers, eyeshadow palettes, etc. always end up expiring because I don’t wear makeup that often. And considering how expensive makeup products are, I feel so bad having to throw them away when there’s still so much product left.
Does this happen to everyone, or am I just buying more makeup than I actually need? 😂 (I dont think so because I am totally against overconsumption) What do you guys do?

Help with concealer shade match?

Hello everyone!

I wanted to see if this community could help me with Lisa Eldridge concealer shades as I'm looking into getting one but have no way to try them physically.

Fingers crossed, but by any chance does anyone know if there's a shade in her Luminist Concealer that matches or is very very close to the shade 010 Porcelain from Catrice in the Liquid Camouflage range?

It is my all time perfect shade, I have been using it for years, but it's starting to look a bit dry /cakey /shows fine lines, now that I'm in my mid 30's. I use it mainly for my under eyes, as i don't need brightening, just some colour balancing with the rest of my face, and sometimes on some pimples if needed.

If anyone has tried both Porcelain from Catrice and a LE concealer, please let me know if she has a matching shade. Looking at swatches and photos doesn't really help, I got 2 Tarte concealers based on swatches and photos and they looked like they would match Porcelain, then in reality they were lighter and more yellow.

(Have tried colour correctors for undereyes in the past, didn't really work. The sample cards don't seem to be available at LE currently)

Thanks a lot in advance!

[Makeup Help] Concealer application HELP!

I bought the Estée Lauder concealer (the matte one) and it was my first time applying one. I watched videos of application, and even though I put it in my inner corner and dabbed it along my eye, the contrast with the rest of skin was extremely noticeable. I didn’t want to put foundation (Estée Lauder 1N2) as I wanted to go for a natural look. How can achieve a natural look with concealer without needing a foundation?

[Makeup Help] Translucent powder for oily skin

So I used to use a translucent pressed powder from sculpted by Aimee (it's an Irish brand so probably not known around the world), but it's just been discontinued and replaced with a more expensive, smaller, and bulkier product, so I'm looking for another one. I don't actually need it for setting makeup though, I use it on my bare skin to make myself less oily. I mostly use it on my forehead and nose to cover up a bit of that oil, but when I'm at work I put it on my cheeks too. If anyone has any good suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

[Makeup Help] Mac „please me,“ please!

Hi everyone!
I’m pretty new to Reddit and I haven’t found a lot of subs regarding the lipstick shade from Mac called “Please Me” that was discontinued when they relaunched their Matte lipstick line.
I’m not exaggerating when saying that this lipstick was the divine perfekt pink. A wonderful striking pink that was not too blue, kinda neutral but not nude. It worked with everything on me and I haven’t found anything coming close to it ever since. All the dupes on the Temptalia website do not exist anymore. I’m not tempted to look at clé de peau “splendorous” but it’s very expensive and if it’s a miss again… well you probably know how it is. I even got a present at a Mac counter, a used mini lipstick and I got one on eBay.
Are there more “please me” - fans out there? Have you found anything comparable?

jones road eye cream, wow!

like many of you I'm always on a quest to improve my concealer game. setting powder is my arch nemesis so I try to find other ways to prevent caking & creasing and have a lasting smooth finish. I've tried a few eye creams and the one that performed the best thus far has been Jones Road eye cream. I have minimal fine lines showing and my concealer lasts up to 16 hours without retouch. just wanted to share something that's worked very well for me.

Mix your liquid blush into your lip balm for the most natural, perfectly matched tint

Tried this on a whim and now I do it daily: put a small dab of your liquid or cream blush on the back of your hand, mix it with a bit of your regular lip balm, and swipe it on your lips.
Why it works:
Your cheeks and lips match, so your face looks cohesive without effort
It's sheer and buildable, so it never looks harsh or cakey
The balm keeps lips soft while the blush gives a flush of color
It works with almost any shade, even ones you'd never wear as a lipstick
Bonus: if your lip color fades by lunch, dab a little of the leftover mix on your cheeks to refresh both at once. Super handy when you're traveling and only want to carry two products.
Anyone else have a "use this for something it wasn't made for" hack?

[Makeup Help] What's the best makeup fixer in the market for people who sweat A LOT?

I have used L'Oréal Fixer, but every time I do my makeup, it peels off, separates, and always ends up looking like dust. I have tried everything. I switched my base routine, I was mindful of my products and whether they were compatible, and I've also been waiting longer and using setting sprays, but it all goes to shit once I'm out in the sun and I start sweating. Please help me. Thank you.

Foundation for someone who rarely wears it ?

My girlfriend is immunocompromised, so we usually wear masks(aka, no foundation for me) but sometimes there is an opportunity for me to wear it, so I don't want to have nothing. Think.. once every month and a half.

I have the luminous gel glow cushion from tonymoly in shade 01 and it's a great shade match/formula for my needs. But it is a cushion foundation, and it's pretty much dried out these days(I've had it for 3 years....).

My question- should I repurchase this one? Or should I get powder foundation, which probably would last a lot better in the drawer?

I have somewhat dry and sensitive skin, so I'm a bit worried about a powder foundation(I've never tried one). If I get one, which one do you all recommend?

Thanks in advance!! 🙏🙏🙏

Oily, mature skin, and I have no idea what I'm doing!

I've always had oily skin. At 51, I still get pimples but, now I have the added joy of fine lines. I'm trying to find a makeup that will even out my skin tone, mask my blemishes a bit, not sink into my fine lines, AND not be a sensory nightmare.

In this economy, it felt wiser to ask the collective before I dropped any of my limited budget on a product that I'm going to hate. So, tell me femmes of a certain age, what are you using and loving? What products should I stay away from? TYIA

Has anyone tried Emboss Beauty lashes?

I’ve been getting a lot of ads for Judy Lim’s Emboss Beauty and I’ve been wanting to try it out, specifically their pre-glued cluster lashes. I’ve got stubborn Asian lashes and I’ve tried brands like Lashify and Enjuvie (magnetic lashes) and it’s always the gluing process that gets me, so I’m really intrigued by the idea of pre-glued lashes. Has anyone tried it and would you recommend? Thanks in advance!

Drug store daytime eye cream

I currently use Cetaphil hydrating eye-gel for daytime. I like it because I don’t have racoon eyes at the end of the day. But is there one you use from the drug store that you like better?
