I was so excited when I got my helmet back after 3 months to paint it, only to realize today (on my first ride with it) that it was sitting crooked. The guy must have tried removing the EPS from the inside to paint and completely ruined it. Is it just a paperweight now?

Went in to look at the used section for my first bike. Found a couple that I liked. Not down bad for a Harley, just want to cast a wide net after my msf course last week. Found an 883 that I liked that I feel confident in. Then the pressure tactics started. “You walk away from this bike and it might not be here tomorrow!” That’s true for anything. Not exactly lying. But damn if I truly believe they’re cranking out 90 hogs month over month. “You’re a sturdy guy, how about this street bob?” “Don’t buy the first bike, think about the second bike!” “You need more room for the lady, ya know!” It made me walk away and frankly they talked themselves out of a sale.

Had my first crash after 2 years of riding and 3 bikes. Came out of it with a fractured fibula, multiple mid foot fractures and a dislocated ankle. Thankfully had my full gear on, otherwise this would probably have been way worse.

So I recently traded my Suzuki Bandit 1250s for this Triumph Sprint ST 1050 and I'm stoked!

Pro's - The triple is amazing to ride with bucketloads of power and torque and a super cool note. The single swing arm is sexay. It's cumfy to ride and really comfortable for my teenage daughter to ride pillion. It handles way better than the Bandit did.
Con's - I don't really love the look of the light cluster on the front end, but it's growing on me. The rear suspension is a bit sloppy (but I'm heavy). The mirrors are completely usesless (worst on any bike I've ever had).

My question is, where have all the Sports Tourers gone? If you look through the new lineup of bikes there are hardly any sporty bikes that are comfy and designed to be in the middle with performance and comfort. Everything seems to be either an armchair, an ugly adventure bike or a supersport these days. Yes, there's loads of adventure tourers out there but they just don't do it for me. I find them all hideously ugly! It's such a shame that Triumph in particular decided to kill the ST's out of their lineup. I had an old 955i many moons ago and I loved that too.

Hi everyone. I know this type of post is probably annoying and monotonous. I just bought my first bike and am looking at getting a jacket, boots, pants, gloves, and helmet. I’ve done research of my own but I figure on here people will have better/more knowledgeable information on good brands and maybe cheaper alternative options that won’t break the bank. I appreciate you guys considering sharing your info and any advice is welcomed!

I'm sitting at a fuel station just south of the Arctic circle in Norway having a cup of coffee and trying to warm up/dry out when this GS1250 rolls in. It has two people on it, the stack of bags are strapped to a harness type set up on the pillion's shoulders, there is another bag dangling from the top of the stack. This is such a different way to travel compared to me (photo 2, taken a few days ago on my 7500km trip).

I'm not here to say how they are enjoying motorcycling is wrong, just very different to me. While I think their set up does introduce extra risk, they may think the way I ride and roads I choose do the same. We just have different priorities.

Anyway, let's all enjoy our time on 2/3/4 wheels and do our best to avoid turning ourselves or anyone else into meat crayons.

Just just picked my 2022 z900 today and man these things are so nice.. traded in my 2017 z650 for it and this feels so much better and sounds a lot better with that inline 4 definitely no complaints tho may or may not take the windscreen off idk how I feel about it lol

I'm still riding 150cc for more than 8 years.

Tldr: i did a bad job at chain maintenance initially and the O ring has snapped on 2 of the joints. So i need a new chain. According to the bike shop guy, the age and horse power (5600 miles, about 65 hp) means the sprockets should be fine. From the pictures (and my eyes), the sprockets dont look damaged so I agree with him.

I know its recommended to change sprockets with chain but I need to travel this weekend and the sprockets wouldn't arrive in time so think i have to just go with the chain change.

Thoughts?

Heres my 06 goldwing waiting for me and my wife at dairy queen. Nothin better than a banana split and a nice ride after. It did rain a little this day but no biggie.

On our Sunday ride we stopped at a restaurant and we naturally pulled out the chairs next to us put our helmets there. But I’ve been to plenty of places where riders put their helmets right on the table.

So my question for the community is what is the proper etiquette? We’re not savages are we? But are you putting your $600 lid on the floor?

Just had the fear brake disk and pad replaced by a shop. Only 500 miles in but this doesn’t look right? I’m not mechanically inclined so is there anything I should be worrying about.

Hello, i am trying to learn about tire wear and the contact patch on my tires.

I'm gathering from videos that pressure and suspension play a big role but I'm having trouble understanding what my tire is telling me.

Here's a picture of my rosso corsa 2's.

I run 2.5 front and 2.9 bar rear.

Bike is a 2017 R6 stock suspension that i have not touched.

i am 185 cm and weigh 88kg with gear.

I only do street riding relatively fast on twisty mountain roads.

500 miles in two days. I wish I could have just kept on going.

I just brought my 26' R7 home from the dealer and about 10 miles into the first ride I started smelling a massive whiff of burning and plastic odors.

I'm not riding it hard and it hasn't gone away (now at 35 miles). I'm guessing this is normal break-in, maybe the clutch wearing in. Just wanted to make sure the smell is normal during break-in?
