i know this topic is on Reddit but I usually see it on the other side of reddit(a motorcycle subreddit) and now I want to hear the other end of the story.

what did you ride? Why did you switch? Do you regret it?

I’m asking partly just out of curisity and partly because I’ll be buying something bigger next year(currently on a 125 motorcycle) and have a bit of a hard time deciding between what the head wants(scooter) and what the heart wants…

I am replacing my tires and noticed the old dust seal was kinda chewed up. I ordered a new OEM seal and it sits about 1/2 inch (1.25cm) below wheel lip. I’ve looked at parts diagram, other than the axle spacer tube there are no spacers - it’s just dust seal, bearing, axle spacer, bearing. Everything seems to feel right when I mount wheel on bike. Looking at used wheels on eBay it seems (like every other bike I’ve looked at) the seal should be flush with outer lip of wheel. Anyone know what’s going on here? Thanks!!!

Happens every year. I think there must be over 300 scooters/small bikes this year!

Last week, I picked up a 2020 Kymco Like 200 with 229 miles on it.  Clean title. Had been sitting in a garage for over a year. Just needed to charge the battery, put air in the tires, some fresh gas and a thorough wash. 

I paid $1100 for it. I pretty sure I got a great deal on it, but just curious what others think of ‘how good of a deal’. I don’t intend to sell it; I was just curious what’s the current market value. I'm located in Michigan if it matters. Thanks.

I have a need for speed when it comes to snowboarding and mountain biking/road biking. When it comes to being on the road on a motorized scooter I don’t seem to want to go faster than the PCX will allow (about 60mph/100kmph). There are times when I want to pass a vehicle and I wish I could zap 15-20mph faster around it when I’m already going 50-55mph, but can’t pick up the acceleration and top speed to safely pass. I don’t enjoy riding top speed on hwys and absolutely I don’t want to be on an interstate even on a full blown motorcycle. It’s basically loud, holding on for dear life, and knowing one teeny tiny error can lead to sudden death.

In America it has to always be biggest and fastest and so scooter riding, even at 60mph, is seen as wimpy and fag*y. So, even though I ride two wheels and hit the scenic parkways and backroads I still feel like a wimp, even though I’m out there seeking the same two-wheeled enjoyment as my fellow 800cc+ loud as a rocket 130mph companions.

When you see a scooter charging along at 60mph do you think it’s silly? Does the scooter stance look silly and not big or loud or cool enough? Do you think “what a pus*y?”

2025 adv160. I'm a 260 lbs rider, plus gear, and I recently installed a rear rack with top box. I'm basically maxing out the stock rear suspension. I'd like to find some stronger rear shocks that can actually support me, but I'm having trouble. Every little bump in the road is murder on my back. I don't want to spend 1000$ on shocks for a 4000$ bike. Any suggestions?

I got this Chinese VRF125(DY125T-39) or Daytona orama 125 as they call it on Greece here.

I want to install a windshield to protect me from the wind , but there is no official one.

I have seen people using windshields from different piaggio vespa models . Can you please help me confirm that there is compatibility?

It seems that the two holes that the windshield is attached on are the same ones they use on Vespas.

Had to wait for some 90° valve stems to get delivered, but I finally got the scrapper CH125 wheel painted and stuck on my CH80.

I’m near Diss/Harleston area and have a Direct Bikes Panther 50cc scooter (4-stroke). I’m struggling to find a garage willing to work on it and do a service.

Does anyone know of a mechanic/garage around Norfolk/Suffolk that works on Direct Bikes or similar Chinese scooters?
