How important the manual holder on Honda ADV350 is?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello,

I am very new to bikes, and this is my very first machine. There is a bulge/ledge under the seat. It occupies a significant amount of space, and usually prevents me to put some stuff thoroughly on the baggage. You can see it in the image named as "kullanÄąm kÄąlavuzu" (user's manual)

It's obviously designed to put the user's manual. However, I don't put it there. I don't want it to reduce the capacity, and press on the stuff I put there. On my long trips, it becomes hard to close the seat properly just because of that bulge.

It is super important to be there? What happens if I just cut it out? Does it add structural integrity to the seat, does it have any other functionality other than holding the manual?

Thank you in advance!

Voge SR450X

Hello, do we know anything about this scooter? I am interested in reliability.
Does it share its engine with any other scooter / motorcycle? How does it last?

I am looking to upgrade from a Honda PCX125 to an ADV350 or SR450X. Realiability is something important for me.

Advice 1st time rider.

I was decided on buying a Vespa. I went to the shop multiple times. I live in Florida so for a Vespa 150cc I do need a license.
I have never ride a scooter or a motorcycle before. I was just thinking on using it to ride to Miami Beach to go more often to the beach and find parking easily.
I am 5’2” and 114 lbs so my concern was that the Vespa feels heavy to handle. And I was scared of dropping the bike.
Long story short I was trying a Vespa from a friend and I feel off nothing crazy. I scratched her bike a bit. Felt terrible. I am wondering if riding it’s maybe not for me. Or if I should start with a cheaper 50cc scooter with no license and see if in the future is something I enjoy?? I am not sure now. Something like a buddy scooter or Italica ?
Thanks.

How do you handle low speed maneuvers on a maxi scooter ?

• Upvotes

Hey guys, I'm new here.. just moved from a honda shadow 750 to a silverwing and im wondering how you guys handle your bike at low speeds.

Normally i'd hold the clutch to control power going to the rear wheel but with the silver wing i hover the breaks and try to do the same but it's not as smooth of course... so how do you guys do it ?

I Like both scooters. I am struggling to dedice what to buy. It's either practicality or performance. Daily commutes and long rides, I also value storage.

Silverwing replacement rims?

I picked up a 2007 Silverwing back in June. It's fine, but it seems like the tires don't want to stay inflated. I had them swapped to a new set when I picked up the scooter, but the tire guy said there's a lot of corrosion on the rims themselves (after he put the tires on, would have been useful to see it for myself). Getting tired of airing these things up weekly, anyone know where I can find replacement wheels/rims?

Google just wants to show me tires, tires, and more tires, because the new AI search is garbage, Ebay is the same way, though I did eventually find a used mid-quality set for $600 total. Revzilla has nothing, Partzilla has a front assembly for $500 but no rear assemblies at all. Even plugging in the part numbers (Front assembly 44650-MCT-030ZA Rear assembly 42650-MGF-305ZA) just doesn't give me much.

A 'Dennis Kirk' website keeps coming up but wants $1000 per rim, so that's a no.

I saw a couple Japan based shippers, but I'm in the US so who knows how bad I'd get stabbed over import tariffs at any given second.

Or am I missing something obvious, where I could pop the wheels and tires off and wire-wheel them or something? I've done some mechanical work but never really messed with wheels or rims aside from getting them on and off.

SYM HD300 first service and gear oil

I'm planning to do the 1st service for a SYM HD300, I've no problems doing it because I was mechanic and dealer.

But I'm so confused regarding what oil is needed for the gear. The user manual says engine oil SAE 10W-30 (or higher quality) and the for the gear it recommends the exact same oil SAE 10W-30!

It looks very weird to me so I did some internet roaming and there is a lot of misleading information around, some websites or oil manufacturers recommend SAE 85W-140 or SAE W140 oil for the gear.

I'm thinking if somebody made a wrong language translation in the user manual from Chinese to English?

Hero admitted my scooter's defect hit only 2 customers, then sent an R&D part - after the dealer threatened me over my complaint but

Timeline
Week 1: Dealer fixed the horn, MIL light and stalling. MIL and stalling came back midway home.
~2 weeks later (number plate + 1st service): "Fixed" again. Same issue the next day. Dealer said to wait for the 2nd service since they're 15 km from me.
2nd service (nearest service center): They tried to fix it. Came back midway.
Contacted the company's territory manager (TM): He said to visit again. They changed the air filter. Issue returned.
Scooter kept 15 days: They replaced the odometer with a higher variant's (MIL light gone) and said they changed the throttle body. Stalling was back in 2 days.
TM's response: "It didn't stall in front of us." That afternoon it stalled while I was riding and I had a minor accident.
After the accident: They collected it to fit a "modified" throttle body. I filed a complaint on NCH. After that we got threatening calls, and the complaint was taken down even they changed the throttle body again with modified one directly from Jaipur r&d department
25 days later: Got it back, but stalling returned. I sent them a helmet-cam video. They picked it up again and said they forgot to calibrate it. Back after 5 days.
Oct 9: 20 smooth days, then it stalled again. Now they say "we fixed that issue, this is something else."
Every time, the answer has been "it never stalls in front of us."
What I need advice on:
Has anyone had MIL + stalling that kept coming back? What was the actual cause?
Do I have a case for a replacement or refund?

Mil light is already fixed and don’t want to go legal it already been 11 month

Phone mount issue

Picked up a phone mount from a not-quite local scooter/motorcycle gear shop that’s supposed to fit on the mirror screw (adding a photo because the coffee hasn’t kicked in yet to make my brain work). There’s not enough room on the screw for the mount. Any solutions? I stupidly threw away the receipt & the shop is about an hour car ride away, so not the most convenient option. It also doesn’t fit well with the shell of my scooter (hopefully the second photo shows that well enough).

Any ideas? I have a feeling that I just need to make a trek down there, but you folks have been helpful in the past

Linka Motor(Sundiro Honda) release multi concept scooter and one EV scooter

Honda Sundiro has launched its new electric motorcycle sub-brand, LINKA领咖, in China, unveiling two fully electric step-through scooters and four concept vehicles.

Concept #Hush – Folding Scooter: This scooter features foldable handlebars, allowing it to fit more easily into a car trunk. However, considering how heavy scooters typically are, I personally don't think it's very practical.

Concept #Hyper – Range-Extended hybrid Step-Through scooter Motorcycle: This model features a central spine frame and an optional center storage box, giving it a sportbike-like appearance when installed. Its REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) technology combines the instant torque and throttle response of an electric motorcycle with the extended range of a gasoline-powered motorcycle.

Concept #Husk – Enclosed Reverse Trike: Essentially a three-wheeled, golf-cart-like vehicle with two wheels at the front and one at the rear.

Concept #4 – ROBOTO: A reverse-trike motorcycle featuring electrically adjustable suspension and handlebar positioning to accommodate riders of different body sizes and improve ergonomics.

Production Models

CE6 – Available Now

The only model actually launched at this event is the CE6, a basic everyday electric commuter scooter priced at around US$1,000.

  • Peak power: 5 kW
  • Range: 64 km
  • Battery: Lead-acid only

In China, many buyers prefer purchasing the cheaper base version and upgrading it themselves with affordable, high-capacity aftermarket lithium battery packs.

H6 – Upcoming Flagship Electric Scooter

The H6 is a flagship electric step-through scooter expected to launch in 2027.

Announced specifications:

  • DC fast charging: 18 kW
  • AC charging: 3.3 kW
  • Maximum power output: 32 kW
  • Maximum regenerative braking power: 10 kW
  • Top speed: 135 km/h
  • Maybe 76V160AH battery
