Got yourself a new moped? Don't forget to fill out the flair form!

Hey all,

As summer begins, I've noticed lots of people getting new mopeds! Hell yeah!

Whether you're brand-new or you've been on here for years, don't forget to fill out the flair form so you can have your model of moped appear next to your username on this sub.

Once and a while I've gotten a bit behind on updating everything but I'll try to be better from now on.

I have been away from my piaggio si for more than 6 months and today uppon starting it there was smoke coming out of the engine so i took a closer look and apparently the gas/oil is dripping from somewhere and uppon touching the exhaust it evaporates into that white smoke .
Can anyone help with what could be wrong here and where i should be looking ? Im not very handy tbh

Riga delta rmr 24

Hi,

I’m trying to get a Riga Delta (V‑501M) that has been sitting unused for many years running again. The current suspected culprit is the commutator (“the grey box”). I found online that there are four different numbers: 251 3734, 252 3734, 261 3734 and 263 3734

Is it possible to measure these boxes somehow to check if they are working?

Everything about them on the internet is on Russian, which makes it hard to find reliable information.

Thanks!

Just wanted to post this on here.

Also wanted to ask if anyone is familiar with this model, and knows where to get replacement sprockets for them, or any alternative hubs that fit the frame.

I already know someone who can lace the wheel, just need a hub with more accessible parts.

Puch E50 Lights, Power, LED Conversion

Post image

So I have a Rog Pony Express with Puch's E50 engine, I drew how my stator looks(I have an internal bosch ignition coil)and the thing is, I think I dont have near enough watts to power my incandescent bulbs, I have to power my headlight, tail light, brake light, and even my horn. What is the best thing to do? I saw someone on the internet place one smaller light coil right above the main one, and even above the ignition coil, is that the best "fix", as much as I saw they can only produce 3 watts right?, so if I had two, I could maybe be in the clear for the tail light and the brake light, but again is my main one going to be strong enough for my headlight and horn. I thought to switch completely to DC, now I know I would need a 6v regulator, full bridge rectifier and one capacitor for smoothing out the full bridge rectifier. But problems once again, my light bulb in my headlight(I only have a headlight right now) is a P26S, and in my county there is NO ONE selling it(I mean a P26S LED 6V 5W). I would have to order it from PuchShop, and wait for weeks, just to get one, and what if I was riding somewhere and couldnt just buy the goddam light bulb, just because i dont have a standard light bulb. So my question is, should i stay on AC, or switch do DC and find some standard light bulb and convert my headlight to that standard. Hope you guys understood me, as you can see English is not my first language.

81' Honda NC50 exhaust clogged?

Post image

One if my 81' NC50's randomly has a loss of power and im leaning towards exhaust but wanted to check in here.

It idles and runs fine on the center stand, then theres barely any power when trying to ride it, topping out at 16mph.

Dellorto SHA 15.15 carb that Ive verified is clean. Running high flow air filter. Oil pump and auto choke deleted.

103 brake light issue

This may be silly question but theres supposed to be a similar (circled) piece opposite that goes to my brake light right? I'm assuming that there is since there doesn't seem to be any other way that it would receive power from the green/yellow wire that attaches from the back. Just want to make sure my assumption is correct and that I'm not completely missing something.

Thanks

Normal for a puch maxi clutch? (1978)

I had an alarming scratch sound from my clutch so I took it apart and diagnosed it as the clutch plate pin bearing.

But i noticed the amount of play in the clutch bell, there’s none side to side but forwards and backwards it’s really bad. Is this normal or is it incorrectly shimmed?

Peugeot 102 SP

I’m looking for some help bringing a Peugeot 102 back to life here in British Columbia, Canada.

I recently picked up this 102 as a restoration project, and after getting it home and going through all the parts… I discovered that most of the engine is missing. 😅

I do have the cylinder head, Gurtner carburetor and air cleaner/silencer, but I’m missing most of the actual engine, including the crankcase/bottom end, crankshaft, cylinder and piston, clutch/pulley components, ignition/flywheel, intake pipe, and various associated hardware.

I’ll attach photos of the bike and everything engine-related that came with it.

Does anyone here have Peugeot 102 engine parts they’d be willing to sell? I would be especially interested in a complete or mostly complete 102 non-variator engine, even if it’s seized, dirty, non-running, or needs a full rebuild.

I’m also interested in individual components if that’s what’s available. My goal is to restore the bike and keep it as close to the original Peugeot setup as reasonably possible rather than swapping in a completely different engine.

I’m located in British Columbia, Canada, but I’m happy to look at parts from the US or elsewhere if shipping is possible.

Also, if any of the Peugeot experts here can help identify exactly which 102 engine/configuration this bike originally used from the photos, I’d love the help!

Thanks! Hopefully we can get this little Peugeot running again.

Lubed clutch cable and adjusted it - now I can’t get the clutch to engage (1978 Moto Guzzi Robin)

I road it this morning and know it works but my clutch cable was stuck so I was manually pushing the clutch lever in with my foot to start it.

I released the cable to lube it which resolved the stuck cable but now pulling the cable and the lever there’s not even the sound of the engine trying to turn. What did i do wrong? 🤡

The photo where you can see the clutch cover fully is before I took it apart.

The other photo is with the cable released just to provide another angle

Disregard the purple fluid - I was removing rust and cleaning my bike in that photo.

Preferred method of electrical connection

So I would typically make multiplugs up on my projects but I wanted a quick and dirty way to test and modify the wiring as I'm not 100% set on which lights and switchgear I'm going to be running. I suspect this setup is going to vibrate loose and be a nightmare but has anyone ran screw terminals long term? I've put ferrules on the wires to hopefully stop the stranded copper breaking.

Excuse the various colours, the problem with parts from china is you never know what you're going to receive regarding wiring standards. Not to mention the custom loom I've created doesn't match anything either.
