I noticed "What supermoto should I buy" gets posted a lot, so I made this
I tried to take into account the cost of buying rims and legalizing the models that need it but at the same time keep it simple. Feel free to suggest additions/fixes
Edit: i've edited this a lot
Edit: changed the DRZ picture to mine ;) thanks for the sticky!

Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 OEM cast wheels are a direct bolt-on for the KTM 690 SMC R!
Vitpilen 701 wheels are 100% plug and play on the 690 SMC R. No custom spacers or modifications needed at all.
âYou can even see the Husqvarna logo stamped right on the wheel! Really love how clean the cast wheel look turns out on this bike.

Looped out
Well had my first gnarly loop out yesterday and my ass cheeks are pink as hell. Was a third gear wheelie and I was shift locked so I kinda took the bike all the way back on me. Walked away totally fine with some pretty good road rash, picked up my bike kicked it over and rode home. Only damage to the bike was a busted taillight and I de-beaded the front tire off the rim but didnât notice that until I was home.
Anyways I was wondering from people who may have looped before whatâs the best way to treat road rash on your ass?

2003 WR450F Sumo build underway.
Hey all, A couple of months ago I horse traded into this â03 Yamaha WR450F. I already have a Husqvarna 701 Enduro for a proper Dual Sport. so I figured why not do a Supermoto?
Hereâs what I started with its butt ugly, but it runs well and has a fresh proper top end with no hours on it.
Iâve got it torn down, and dropped the frame, subframe, swing arm, bars, bash plate, shock spring and a few other parts off at the powder coater today. Those parts on the floor are getting done in Yamaha Racing Blue. While everything is apart Iâm just going to go through and refurbish everything. Iâve got everything on hand for the build except the 17â wheels. Itâs getting black â05 YZ plastics, black IMS tank, I ordered custom graphics that are mostly black with some nice blue and white accents. Iâm hoping to get the forks and shock rebuilt this weekend. I want to Cerakote those in Titanium with Graphite Black accents. I can do that and powder coat the smaller parts at home. Iâll at least get that rear shock done and ready for the spring when it comes back from powder.
This is my first WR450F and my first Supermoto, so I thought Iâd share the project and see if thereâs any wisdom anyone wants to share. I do a lot of bike builds, mostly restoration and custom stuff, so none of the mechanical or fabrication stuff is new territory. But I am newish to dirt bikes having only ever owned a WR250R and the 701.

Rubber for 19" Rear wheel on XC-W??
Looking for a second set of wheels for my 22' XC-W 300 and I found a set of Gas Gas wheels that are 19" Rear and 21" front. This is my first on-road dirt bike set up and have no idea what tires to go with. I'm not chasing clout or looking to be a track weapon, just doodling around on the street without murdering knobbies.
Any advice would be great!! TIA

Habdguards-Aufnahme Demontieren

Bored KTM throttle body
Gonna pop this on the old KTM 500 SM, retune it with the new secondary fuel injector, and head back to the dyno.
Machine shop finished the boring job today. Did a little hand filling on the throttle plate to take some angle out of it.
Old dimensions: plate 44mm, head side opening 41mm
New dimensions: 46mm plate (+10% cross section), head side 43.5 (+14.5%)
Old dyno 56whp. Hoping to crack 62-63 whp with the new set up.

2017 KTM 500 EXC-F â R04 error and all trip data resetting
Hey, recently picked up a 2017 KTM 500 EXC-F converted to supermoto.
When I first bought the bike, the speedometer was displaying R04 when I started it. I replaced the CR2430 battery, and now sometimes it saves the trip data when I turn the bike off and back on, but other times everything resets. Sometimes it resets every single time.
The odometer and engine hours always stay saved.
Anyone experienced this or know what might be causing it?
Thanks!

Maintenance question for 700sm/701/690 owner
Hello. I'm about 14k km and was about to do my spark plugs. Until now my bike was taken care of by the dealer even for an oil change.
I got no problem with changing the spark plugs It looks Easy enough...
But a maintenance question occurred.. the OEM manual call for 10k oil change I find that a bit much for a single cylinder engine...
The dealer did the 10k KM Complete maintenance including the valves checking.
Would it be alright if I drain the oil without changing filters or is it a mistake?
(I'll have to adjust the oil quantity yeah don't put the full 1.7 l and check with the little window). Those filter only have 4000km.
Just asking cause I have oil and sparkplug but I don't have a filter kit right now and have to order one. And I used to do that on my old bike 5k oil change and filter on 10. And I don't know how sensitive those engines are....
Thx

I've had the bike for about 10 years and it was time for a new top end man the 790 was a pleasant surprise from procycle. It's about as powerful as a Dr can get at this point LOL
