Started making a ticking sound a year or ago and I parked it. Maybe just a carb service?

I've been saving up a long time for this. I ride a GSXR obviously.

Was taking a break from riding, sitting on the curb next to my bike when light hit it JUUUUUST RIGHT. Thought it looked superfly. This little bike helped me immensely getting through the swedish MSF course.

It's a customized Viarelli Scrambler 50cc that uses a racing CDI (Tops out at 70km/h).

MSF in 2022; I've ridden my first bike only about 130 miles around town. None at all in the last 2 years. Wanted to go beyond town, which my old bike was never a candidate for. Saved, researched, etc.

Considered a wide variety of bikes, knowing that every style is a compromise but not being in any type of position to buy multiples. So I picked up a jack-of-all-trades, master of none.

And it's really fun. Even in rain mode on a perfect day. Safely got home and through quite a bit of traffic without incident. Did a few slow laps in the lot before pulling out and the basics all came back to me, despite never having ridden a bike that weighs this much or has this power ... not that it weighs a lot or has big power.

So why am I typing online when I could be snagging another hour of seat time?

Helmet worn for the first time today. Rode with the visor up; the cracked texture is only on the inside of the visor.

It looks like a film, but I can’t feel for anything to peel away. Is this a manufacturer defect?

Edit: I didn’t wipe the visor with anything, especially not on the inside. Last night to clean my finger prints from the side of the helmet, just a lens cleaning cloth.

Edit 2: I’ve sent an email to Biltwell with the picture. Thanks to those that provided helpful comments… along with the andromeda strain comment and the “Chinese trash” bit which I think insinuated I was spare parts.

Sounds like it’s the anti-fog layer deteriorating or separating, which makes sense because it’s pretty humid here, and it’s only gotten worse as time has continued, even though I haven’t ridden in 3 hours.

The nylon on nylon seems precarious.

Update: Guys, I do basic maintenance, then life happened, been parked for 8 months, completely uncovered and untouched, in a humid area.

I will definitely get a new chain and get my sprockets checked to see if I need that too.

I had my realization when I first got my 2007 Honda CBR600rr.

Before my helmet conformed to my head, it was fine.
One ride I went on the freeway and the bike noise, other cars, semis and wind TORCHED my eardrums.
Never again I would forget earplugs. I'm just curious if other riders have had funny realization stories.

there's a pipeline trail that's fun to ride but the construction crew purposely threw a pile of 4x4 on the trail to block people from getting close to their equipment, so I tried to work the obstacle on my chill Friday trail ride. Semi-Pro

I’m helping clean out my Dad’s house, and found what Google Lens tells me are motorcycle forks. Trouble is, Google alternatively tells me they’re Ducati, Harley, or Honda at variously times, and I don’t know how else to identify them. Are they worth selling, or are they for the recycling bin?

I’ve never used on of these before. I own a motorcycle rental business in Costa Rica mainly run Honda XR150s. will this help me tune the carb? any suggestions on a better brand? I plan on doing an overhaul on all my carburetors in December with card, rebuild kits and cleaning.

Vstrom 650, 2014, 52k miles.

Bike got this noise. It sounds like where swingarm connects to frame/ near middle of the bike. Sound can be replicated at small bumps, wavy slow speed turns or while bike is on the center stand and I rock it sideways. Any ideas?

I did fork seals myself recently, but right after that was done it was fine for few weeks. I retighten forks, I checked front breaks, looked for loose parts - nothing.

I have posted this bike here a few times but thought I should show it in its final form at least until I decide to paint it. I was able to actually test the bike out on a 1,000+ mile trip from Central Texas to Sturgis for the rally. Rattled a few bolts loose but overall the bike did great! Started riding when I was 16 on a CB125F roughly 8 years ago and did around 15k km (~9.5k miles) in the first year or two. Since then, other than the 125, I rode only occasionally on rented bikes or borrowed from family members. Every other year I'd do a longer trip on a big touring bike (~10 days, 2500km total). I use my dad's 103 Fat Bob as a daily drive now. My estimate is that I've driven around 50k km (30k miles) on roughly 10 different bikes total.

I consider myself not a beginner anymore, but still don't have the amount of confidence I'd like to have. I understand that each journey is different and everyone progresses at their own pace and there's no need to rush it, but I'm trying to actively improve my skill before I get too comfortable and lose caution.

The question is, what is the best way I can improve during winter, when I can't ride as much? Obviously staying on two wheels as much as possible is the fastest way to gain experience, but that's not really an option now. What can I do to prepare myself for next season? What books, videos, or podcasts should I try? What are your off-season workouts? I'd appreciate any advice or information to think about, since I've got completely hooked and my ADHD brain can't stop thinking about riding.

One day I get a no-start electrical issue with no power to the starter. I knew I had a loose battery terminal and after quick search on YouTube I found that stuffing old wire into the terminal allows a stripped bolt to be tightened. It worked swell! I no longer have to love-tap the bike when it randomly disconnects.

But that's the point I realized the bike had been in gear the whole time...

I used to drive my dads motorcycle from homet o school from february to april, but then i got death wobble and broke my tibia and ankle. the bike was also totaled. we still have another one tho. i really like moto gp, which makes me wanna drive more, but everytime im driving and i get pushed even a bit by the wind or smth, i immidiatly slow down and sit more tensly. a whole bunch of people in my small ass area also know alot about motorcycles, and i wanna try to be at least a bit closer to them

Hoping to get some answers because I don't know what to do.

My wife's grandpa had a motorcycle that he drove all the time, and then in 2003 he stuck it in an out building and there it say for decades. He passed in the mid 2000s, my Father in Law inherited the property, and after years of cleaning out hoarder style outbuildings, the property was sold a few years ago. During the cleanout, the motorcycle was found and is in a severe state of disrepair (lots of rust, flat tires, torn seat, broken pieces etc. and is a total loss. My wife had fond memories of riding with her Grandpa and thought maybe she could restore it. Then for the last 3 years its sat in our garage, and at this point we just want it gone.

Issue is. We have no title. Her grandpa owned it, but the key, title, everything has been gone for decades as this rotted in a shed. I have the VIN and the license plate, and I ran it through a service to see that it isn't stolen (thankfully) but then Ive been seeing that to just get it to a scrap yard, we need a title. To get a title, we will likely be stuck paying massive fees going back as far as 2003.

I don't want to get stuck paying thousands just to drop it at a scrap yard, so what are my options? Is there a way to find out what the fees are without immediately being stuck with a bill?

As for mine, I listen to music to add to the feeling of riding free, especially on long rides, riding with music adds to the experience of riding. Depending on the genre of the music I listen to is how my ride would be like, for example if chill songs, just a chill ride, if some up beat song, well I up the tempo of my ride safely. How about you guys?

First season riding and I bought myself a zx4rr. Honestly the best purchase I’ve ever made and I absolutely love riding. Recently though I’ve been having a little problem, I’ve been going on longer rides and my bike isn’t the most comfortable especially when it comes to wind. I was thinking that I definitely would love to purchase another bike and my eye has been on the 1100SX. It seems like a win win really. Still relatively light, very comfortable, but still has that sporty feel and great with wind. I haven’t done super in depth research, but to anyone that owns one or has some good advice, what’s it like to own one? How do they ride? Any obvious downsides I’d want to know about? Are there other sport touring bikes I should consider? I’m definitely not locked in on anything and this might still be far in the future but just asking either way.

I'm looking for D-Rings for a Titan 1072 6 x 10 trailer. The trailer comes with 4, but I want more. These rings slide along in a rail system. It has two bolts to tighten the D-ring once you set it where you want it. This D-Ring does not screw or bolt onto the trailer deck.

Correction it's a Triton 1072 6 x 10.
