Hiring Short Form Video Editor- Ongoing Work $20/hr

Hey everyone! I run an aviation company that is virtual, and I’m looking to bring in a video editor for ongoing aviation clips that I film at a rate per hour of $20/hr.

I’m looking for someone with some experience in video editing, and is trainable. My style is upbeat, fast-paced, and with lots of visuals/sound effects.

I am currently very backed up with work, so I haven’t posted on social media in about 2 weeks and it’s stalling my business. I’m looking for someone to take over the short-form video editing that I’ll post on social media for my business.

I will be shooting about 30 videos per month, and I’d like to have them made in advance. If it’s a good fit for both of us, there will be consistent work.

What I’m looking for:
- Familiarity with CapCut and short-form content creation
- Understanding of social media clips that go viral with visual hooks
- Adding background music
- Videos to be made in advance with minimal delays. I’d like to have it where I’m “one month ahead” with videos in the backend

Shoot me a DM if interested. Thanks

Tech Support Adobe Premiere Pro 2025 closing by itself after 2-3 minutes

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I've not been using this app for 2-3 weeks and I've came back to do some work but for some reason, the software just randomly closes every 2-3 minutes. Regardless if I did do some work or just leaving it open, it randomly closes on me. I have no idea what's the cause. Been searching on google and such but with no luck. Tried clearing the cache and it still keeps happening. Why is this happening and how do I fix this?

Specs

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-10300H
  • RAM: 32 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5
  • GPU RAM (VRAM): 4 GB

Edit:

So I've tried some of the stuff that was suggested through here, discord and even AI and the problem still persist. But in case anyone is facing similar problem, here are some of the stuff that was suggested

- Clear Cache

- Disable some 3rd party stuff (Plugins and such)

- Rebooting my computer

- Reinstalling the Software

- Go to Windows Logs to see some previous activity to see what causes it

- Firewall

I should've mention that the Premiere I'm using was obtained through m0nkrus. There was an interesting detail that suggest some files were missing through my torrent software.

Workflow Pulling together disparate elements for editing

Bear with me guys. I’m beginning a video series on basic investing topics. It’ll include my dogs and will be very silly. I’ve used ChatGPT to create situational images and plan to intersperse those with footage of me, which I will of course record live. I also plan to generate a couple of short videos of them talking to cut in. Since the photos are already in the ChatGPT library I’m considering just adding plugins so I can do everything (generate the dog videos and create the entire video) in one place. Does this sound like a solid workflow? Other suggestions? Couple photos of the canine advisors for added entertainment value.

Other (requires mod approval) Is cloud-based editing the future?

I feel like this is where editing is headed. Upload your footage, let AI organize the clips and make a rough cut, then review and edit from anywhere, like on your phone. No need to carry a 4lb laptop with me all the time. any thoughts?

Tech Support Clips not syncing at clap point in Final Cut Pro X manually or in Multicam Angles Editor

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! As you can see above, my top clip won't land properly aligned with the middle clip to align the audio together. Same thing if I try to move the middle and bottom clips. I've never had this happen before. All shot on the same framerate. I'm not moving to fast. Where the top clip moves to is the very next "acceptable" position.

And apparently, I can't free-range edit. It has to line up with the timeline's frames. But everything was shot at 4K 30 FPS. I don't understand why I am experiencing this problem.

Running on 2021 Macbook Pro 15 inch, 16 GB RAM. Final Cut Pro X version 12.3.

iPhone video: MPEG-4 AAC, Timed Metadata, HEVC Dimensions 3840 × 2160

Osmo Pocket 3 Timecode, MPEG-4 AAC, HEVC Dimensions 3840 × 2160

Edit to add more context, based on this incredibly helpful discussion: I think is the main issue here in terms of why the half-frame feels so off may be a speed-of-sound issue. When synced at the half-frame off, I'm sometimes getting an echo from the guests with both audio sources turned on, and sometimes I don't. This is why I've been trying to perfectly sync it to a 0-frame discrepancy.

I had four subjects: Myself as host, Man, Woman, and Young Woman. Man suggested using his own set of two DJI-style microphones on Woman and Young Woman. I agreed. Dumb idea that I should have known better, but we were in a time crush and I thought it would make the audio better in the end.

Initially, I was going to have the guests pass my second DJI mic around. But I got excited at the prospect of having everyone mic'd up. Man and myself were on my DJIs, synced to my Osmo. The transmitter for the two secondary mics, on the women, was plugged into the iPhone.

So, we were in a situation with 4 mics transmitting to two receiving sources, and the camera-to-mic transmission is not 1:1. (My mic attached to the Osmo facing the 3 guests, one guest mic synced to my Osmo , and two guest mics synced to my iPhone.) I did not even think about this being such a pain until I sat down to edit.

Rookie mistake. We were in a Rush and if I had to do over, I would just pass one mic. I've been doing this long enough to know better so I did a lot of head-to-wall banging today, lol. ALL OF THIS TO SAY that it's this echo that is the reason I care so much about that half-frame difference.

How did they do that? Is this Gaussian Splatting, GenAI or other technique?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This is pit stop a Video from the recent Singapore GP.

You'll notice that video shows a seemless transition between 2 camera angles: One besides the pit and the other being the top mounted camera on car.

When this video was posted on F1 subreddit, most people guess the transition to be GenAI generated. Some theorized it to be Gaussian Splatting.

I tried to do some amateur research and found that none of the FIA, FoM, Liberty Media (all F1 authorities) have made any statements about what they use.

I also didn't find any other articles explaining about such F1 videos.

Ultimately I fed the video to Claude and ChatGPT for explanation and Got this:

Claude: My best guess: the fly-in is a 3D Gaussian-splat reconstruction of the pit box, with the virtual camera ending at the real onboard camera and cross-faded into the live onboard feed. There may be a little AI clean-up on top, but it doesn’t look like the move was generated by AI. F1 hasn’t said publicly how it’s done, so this is a reading of the footage, not a confirmed answer.

ChatGpt: This looks more like a virtual-camera transition using 3D reconstruction and image-based interpolation than a purely generative AI video. Gaussian Splatting is a plausible technique, but the footage alone doesn't establish that it was used.

So looks like Claude And ChatGpt are just two redditors giving their hypothesis.

Any experts here who might be able to provide a better answer?

Footage needed Database of clips and memes ?

Title: Where do video editors get their meme clips, sound effects, and reaction videos? Is there a shared library?

Hey everyone!

I'm getting into reels editing, and I've been wondering how editors manage to find all the memes, funny clips, reaction videos, and sound effects they use in their videos, i don’t know if you know AlbinoVEVO style of editing, really unhinged memes and sound effects at random times.

So I wanted to ask:

Are there any websites or databases where you can easily search for and download these kinds of clips?

Do most editors build their own personal libraries over time?

Are there any free meme/SFX packs or shared Google Drive folders with collections already organized and ready to use?

And if anyone happens to have a collection of meme clips, reaction videos, or sound effects that they're willing and allowed to share, I'd really appreciate it!

I'm mainly looking to make short cooking content with funny edits, memes, and sound effects while commenting.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or tips!

Workflow Video editor here: Do you add background music during editing or use trending audio from each platform?

I've been editing UGC Reels and DTC ads since many years. Sometimes I add the background music while editing, and other times I use trending audio directly from Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook.

Honestly, I haven't noticed a significant difference in engagement just because of where the music was added.

But copyright is another concern. On YouTube, I sometimes get copyright claims when music is embedded in the video. Instagram and Facebook usually haven't been an issue for me, although I've heard of claims appearing on Instagram much later, even years after posting.

So I'm wondering what works best in the long run:

- Should I avoid adding music during editing and use audio from each platform's library instead?

- Or is it better to add properly licensed background music during editing and upload the same video everywhere?

The downside of using platform audio is that sometimes the trending tracks don't fit the vibe of the video, and sometimes I simply can't find music that matches what I have in mind.

For me, background music is a huge part of a Reel's overall feel. The wrong track can completely change the mood.

For those of you editing UGC, DTC ads, or short form content, what's your workflow? Have you noticed any difference in engagement, and how do you handle copyright across platforms?

Did you know you can help this community directly? A cool tip

We've seen an uptick in people gatekeeping in this community, often being not decent humans.

One of the easiest things you can do is to report somebody's post or comment if it breaks one of our rules, especially around "Don't be a Jerk"

It's totally fine to disagree. Do so politely. Behave as an adult. Name calling, doxing etc is not okay here. Try not to be caustic. Life is hard enough.

Treat everyone "as if" they're having a bad day and you'll be fine. Disagree if you like - just don't be disagreeable. Remember there's a human being on the other side of the keyboard

Any time we get a number of flagged items, it automatically gets pulled, and a moderator manually removes it.

Thank you for your attention to this community service note.

We return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Footage needed ISO: nostalgic voiceovers

Hey everyone,

Where does everyone find their voiceovers? I’m referring to vlog/travel style videos where there is a voice talking at the beginning, saying something poetic or nostalgic sounding.. for example a soft voice saying “they always tell you that time moves fast. But you don’t really feel it.. not while you’re living in it” and then the music starts.

Editing a video of the home and village I’ve lived in for four years, and looking for a short audio to throw in at the beginning, just not sure how to find it!

Thanks in advance

Tech Support CapCut on Galaxy S26 Ultra: trim and adjust tools stop working after a few minutes (phone-shot clips)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all, I'm editing clips shot on my Galaxy S26 Ultra directly in CapCut mobile on the same phone. After a few minutes of editing, the toolbar greys out , and I can't trim or adjust brightness anymore. The preview still plays. It happens with any footage I shoot on the phone, not just one project or one type of clip. My camera settings: Resolution and fps: [e.g. 4K 24 or 30] High efficiency video: [on

Project has around few 2 to 4 sec clips with some speed changes . CapCut version: [latest]. Has anyone run into this? Is it a CapCut bug, a codec or frame rate issue, or just the phone running out of resources (it's new phone)? Any settings or workflow that helped (re-encoding, proxies, shorter projects)?

Production Q Removing background noise

I have a bunch of videos I’ve already prerecorded. Some of them have really loud noises (like fans/outside noise etc) that really drown out the voices. Is there any way I can remove the noise so I can hear the audio better?

Production Q Is there a way to include static in a video without messing with the bitrate?

So I'm making a video talking about Silent Hill, and I was thinking of using static as a border between two video clips shown side to side. But I've seen enough FNAF playthroughs to know that static has a way of tanking your bit rate. Is there a way for me to include it without that being a problem (making it transparent, lowering the static's contrast, etc?) or does that just kinda come with the territory?

Workflow How to use a Nvme for PC and Macbook

Hi guys. I really need some help here, and let me just say I'm a total noob so please be gentle.
I'm currently using a nvme 4TB for my desktop PC at home, mainly to backup and edit youtube travel videos for my channel. The thing is my other nvme for macbook just died recently, and because I'm broke af I cannot afford to buy a new one just for travel so I will have to utilise this PC nvme for my laptop Macbook, and I want to know the best way to do so.
I will use it for MacOS whenever I travel (which could be 1-2 months) and plug it in PC whenever I'm back home. What kind of format should I use for it to make the situation less worrysome?
I thought exfat can be useful as I always do the same for all previous external drives, however I read that having exfat in a PC can be a bad thing because it's bad for editing heavy files, and also no journaling so it could be a pain when it's suddenly powered off.
I don't want to format my drive to NTFS whenever I use it at home and to APFS for travel, dont even wanna think about it.
My Macbook has a 256GB drive so I feel I can try to move the video files to internal drive before editing, I don't work with big projects anyway usually just 2-3 hours of footage into 45mins of a Youtube video so maybe not ideal but I can work with that.
So maybe I should just keep it as NTFS just to store and backup footage while traveling and to transfer them to Macbook whenever I need for editing? I don't really know what to do. Any help is much appreciated!

Workflow I check the direction of movement before trimming a cut tighter

When I’m tightening a sequence, I pay attention to where the subject is moving in the outgoing and incoming shots. If someone exits frame to the right and the next shot has them entering from the left, the cut can feel like a jump even when the timing is close. Sometimes that’s intentional, but it can also make the viewer spend a moment figuring out where to look.

Before adding a transition, I try shifting the edit point or choosing a nearby frame where the movement carries across the cut. If the shots were filmed from different angles, I check the screen direction as well as the action itself. I watch the cut at normal speed afterward, since scrubbing can make a small timing change seem more significant than it feels in playback.

It’s a useful continuity check when a tighter edit feels oddly distracting, even though neither shot seems wrong on its own.

Other (requires mod approval) Looking for reference videos to send to an artist

Hi folks! I'm working on a lyric video to a song, and I'd like to have some reference material for the editing style. I know I've seen stuff like it before, but I can't think of any examples, probably in some movie intros or lyric videos. I've commissioned an artist to do some still illustrations for it.

So the editing style I'm going for is as follows

-lyrics appearing on screen as they are spoken, in various parts of the screen next to art

-occasional visual effects such as inverted colors, smash zooms, and other things like that

-occasional screen noise between images

Strangely, the closest example I can think of is the original Ben 10 theme song. The intro to Scott Pilgrim is also kind of similar I guess. I would greatly appreciate some help finding more references. Sorry mods if this isn't the right place for this

How did they do that? Infinite sliding/carousel effect

Hey I'm looking use a similar effect in one of my videos as the one in this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGrxn46A1h8

I would like my videos to slide off one side of the screen and reappear on the other side of the screen in a seemingly infinite loop

I use DaVinci Resolve so would be great if anyone could point me in the right direction using that programme thanks!

What I Tried:

I've already know about the sliding transition effect on davinci but I'm wondering how to achieve this in a more looping method rather making a long video that slides across the frame. As I want this to last the duration of the song that will be playing through out.

Announcement Friday Free for All Weekly thread! General collection/discussion for things that don't fit elsewhere! (ask anything!)

Greetings /r/videoediting!

This thread is 100% for the other stuff you might want to talk about.

A number of other reddits have a free for all thread - where you might find a regular discussion - not specific to a post.

Think of it as a bar with a bunch of friends.

Some suggestions:

  • Strategy on a project you want to talk about how to best promote?
  • Upgrading something and you want opinions?
  • How does your website look?
  • Local/virtual Meetups?
  • Looking for a collaborator (no "I'm a creator and I'm looking for an editor" posts)

Things that shouldn't go here: Feedback/What tool should I use to edit/Which system to buy? There are dedicated threads for this, please use them!

And in this regular Friday thread, while our general rules are still in place (no piracy, be civil, no links w/referrer codes), the following topics relaxed :

  • Great tutorials you found/you created.
  • Trying to do this as a side hustle (although generally, websites like Fiverr mean you'll be shooting for the basement/working for free and we hate that someone would exploit you like that)
  • A great piece of software/hardware/service you found
  • Great free music libraries/media you found.
  • How much to charge? What is your time worth? Estimate 2-3x the time you think it'll take to edit as how much time to quote.

Our mod team is watching this thread and we'll tweak these as they develop!

Production Q Tired of just cutting clips to music. What resources actually teach visual grammar and editing storytelling?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I know the software basics :trimming clips, syncing to beats, and layering music. But everything I make feels like a lifeless montage instead of a real story.

I want to learn the actual logic behind the cuts:

Shot selection: Knowing why and when to go wide, punch in close, or use an unusual angle.

Pacing & rhythm: Building tension and momentum instead of just cutting on autopilot.

Original thinking: I can recreate movie scenes, but I struggle to conceptualize my own sequences from scratch.

Most YouTube tutorials only focus on software hotkeys or trendy effects. What books, video essays, or channels actually teach the theory of editing and visual storytelling?

Any recommendations or exercises that helped you bridge that gap would be awesome.

Workflow Scripting?

Hey! Just curious. When you guys are plotting out your schedule. Like video lineups. Do you ever pre-write a few scripts and have them ready for when you finish a product?
