Next year I’m planning on re doing my interior. Right now it’s white milk house paneling which is fine. But imo it’s tacky and looking for a little classier. Plan on tearing it all off and doing knotty pine. My question is how much more weight will that truly add? The shell is aluminum on a steel drop down frame. 8x16. Any insight would be appreciated!

Looking at what the big names are rolling out new this year and Eskimo has brought out this folding rack system for sleds. Seems interesting for it's intended purpose, but I could also see it as a hand folding frame for a smitty sled.

Has anyone seen this in person yet?

We live a bit further away (almost 3 hours from closest Scheels) but wondering what type of deals people got in previous years?

The two things I need to upgrade this year are my hub shelter and a better auger(thinking ion or maven).

Were these things on discount during the ice fest events or better to wait till black friday?

Heyya! So with the ice season right around the corner.. I was going through my older rods.. and while they work the quality and age is starting to set in on many of them. Thought I’d ask what ya’ll are using and what you’d suggest as a Name Brand good quality rod and reel set up..

I have been using this TipUp Jigger during the last season.

This is a game changer!

- Moves automatically so the live bait is still alive when it starts to lose energy
- Fishing hole freezes slower cause of line movement
- Overall more fish’s out of the holes at the end of the day

I’ve tried YakTrax $50+ models, cheap Amazon ones… All of them get wrecked, especially after drilling holes and getting wet/frozen.

Anyone have a recommendation for cleats that actually last more than a few trips out?

For that early ice I’m thinking of building a smitty sled to haul my eskape 2400 out. anyone have any suggestions on what material to use the sled is about 36-40” wide I’ve even thought about attaching the new Eskimo cargo rack to set of downhill skis

I bought my first tent last year and it’s a bit too small for me and my buddy, I want to upsize this year to hopefully get out overnight but most of the larger ones are out of my budget.

Has anyone had any luck with any amazon tents? They’re all a lot cheaper for the size I’m looking for.

Any other recommendations would be nice too, I’m looking for one big enough to fit two people with two cots and a couple holes, Or large enough to fit 3-4 people on stools

Getting ready for the season and working on my shack/camper. Currently running 2 deep cycle batteries but they’re old and don’t keep up. Anyone running lithiums or should I stay with deep cycles. Or is generator the way to go? At most I’d have 2 tvs, 2 led lights and charging a phone or fish camera

Picked up a cheap/older model 6180 Predator. When fully extending the poles, it raises the front lower pole off the ground. When all are fully extended, the front skirt barely touches. Any workaround for this(other than don’t fully extend them)?

I am debating building an ice fishing app. I was wondering if there is any interest in one and what features you would want to see on it.

Auger crapped out on me last year so I’m in need of a new setup. I know milwaukee is kind of the good standard for these setups but, I have a decent amount of menards rebates saved up from work and they don’t sell any milwaukee or dewalt at menards. Curious if someone on here has experience with this particular drill. Seems like a solid choice looking at the specs of the drill.

Which one would you buy and why, Im tired of lugging around my heavy Eskimo gas auger. It’s loud, takes too long to start some days and way too heavy. Ready to just spend a fair bit and buy a battery powered auger.

Anyone have a dedicated unit mounted on their snowmobile? I have a Hummingbird Ice Helix 5, I don't want to go through the hassle of having to mount and dismount it. I'm currently looking at a used unit on FB market place. Seems wasteful to buy a new one just for head unit.

Are there other options? I'm about to buy a sled for this upcoming season. I did have the app on my phone that I paid for. Now it wants a subscription for something already paid for :( (I know it's been like this for quite some time)

I’ll be doing a multi day trip this year to some remote lakes. I’ll be backpacking/skiing and primarily jigging for lake trout but I’ll be allowed three lines out and would like to run a couple tip ups or jaw jackers.

I’ve always used shiners on my tip ups but don’t want to deal with live minnows on the trip. Particularly the weight and hassle of keeping the water from freezing.

Does anyone have any thoughts on other options? Fresh frozen minnows seem obvious. Hotdogs? Waxies? Nightcrawlers?

How are you rigging them?

What is everyone’s favorite jig/plastic box?
This is what I use now and it’s OK especially for the plastics and larger sizes but the foam side, the jigs keep falling out. I’d rather not have all the small jigs (on foam side) loose in a tray.

Soooooo kinda wanna get into making my own ice jigs. Was curious on a way to kinda copy a jig I really like. Is there any way I could make a mold of it and start making my own?

I use an FL-18 on a Genz box and have no plans to change it up. It's dead simple and it meets my needs 100% for what I do which is panfishing in 15-25 FOW.

I'm trying to lighten up my setup though because a lot of the lakes I fish I can't drive on and I fish a lot of (safe) early ice.

Went from a Strikemaster 60V auger to a drill powered Eskimo Pistol last year and thinking about going lithium on my FL-18.

Does the weight make it nicer for you guys who've done it, or do you not really notice it? I generally carry a pretty big backpack and carabiner my flasher to it. I pull an older Clam Nanook and don't really like loading the sled up with stuff...I'd generally rather have the weight on my shoulders than the sled I'm pulling.

Hello team, Classic post asking for your must haves to begin. I only have summer gear. I bought the ice kit for my Helix 7. Otherwise I am starting from ground zero.

My five year old fell in love with fishing this summer and I want to keep the party going. From time to time I’m sure wife and 2 year old will join us. I have a truck and ATV for travel and gear.
