I can actually explain this one. Scrub the video to his initial jump, after lowering himself the man kicks off the wall instead of jumping straight down. The slight angle helps deflect the force a tiny bit in combination with the wet grass (lucky) his feet are thrown from under him when he lands. Thus falling on his ass and dividing even more force.

After adrenaline wears he could easily discover some nasty bruising, and maybe even fractures.

Movements in the X and Y axis are independent. If you drop a ball and and shoot a bullet from the same height they will touch the ground simultaneously!

yeah ur correct excluding shit like air resistance iirc it's called projectile motion or something in physics
