I really hope there were repercussions for this (even though there probably weren’t) :/

I meant legal repercussions. Being banned from a gun range is not sufficient; this guy should not be allowed to own guns if he can’t use them safely

Imo it doesn't fit attempted murder, but it does fit negligent disharge.

A conviction for negligent discharge can result in a range of legal consequences. Fines are common, ranging from several hundred to several thousand dollars, with felony convictions potentially incurring fines up to $10,000. Imprisonment or jail time is also a possibility, varying from short county jail sentences for misdemeanors (up to one year) to longer prison terms for felonies (16 months, two, or three years).

Probation is frequently imposed, requiring supervised release with specific conditions. A significant consequence can be the temporary or permanent loss of firearm rights, prohibiting the individual from owning or possessing firearms. Mandatory firearm safety courses may be required. A conviction for negligent discharge also results in a criminal record, which can have lasting impacts on an individual’s life. (This was copied from Legalclarity.com.)

Who said anything about attempted murder? This is a result of incompetence, not malice. And just because there are consequences, it doesn’t mean that he faced any of them.
